Monongah Middle School
Comment on the closing of the gym at MMS. How do you feel this will effect the school in the future? Have you discussed this with your teachers, Mr. Pulice, or your parents? Will you continue to play athletics if you need to travel to the armory in order to play? Please write a minimum of 75 words.

The closing of our gym I think is terrible. This means now that all practices for Monongah Middle will have to be in the small gym. The closing of the gym will affect the kids because now you have to travel clear to the armory for games. I have talked to my parents some about it but they have not said anything back. I will continue to play athletics for Monongah Middle, but I hope that in the future they will open the gym back up.
Gym Closing at MMS
I dislike the fact that the gym will be closed. I feel that the MMS athletic participants should not have to go through this. I know that it will effect everyone in this school because we go the gym for P.E. and we always have a good time when we go play in the gym. We don't have as much fun in the little gym. I am dissapointed that they are doing this to us, especialy doing this to the MMs athletic participants.
No, I have not discussed this with my teachers,parents, or Mr. Pulice yet, but i'm going to. I bet my parents will be mad because they know what this gym means to all of us.
I don't play athletics for MMS and I probably won't because I am not going to travel all the way to the armory just to play for MMS. I think it so wrong to have to go to the armory to play for MMS when we will probably lose and then we will come back from a game and we will be tired. We will also be mad because we traveled all the way up there just to lose.

I think that it is really dumb that they would even try to close the Monongah Middle School Gym where would five sports team practice or play games at. It will hurt our sports teams there will be no way to practice. I talked it out with some of my teachers but only some of them really care it doesn't hurt there life. It will be hard for some of the players to ttravel to the armory for games just to get there but even then if only some of us show up we won't have enough players. It really sucks ecause some people (Troy Shuck) discourages the girls basketball team because we didn't do to well but none of us even care what he thinks
The closing of are Monongah Middle School gym is horrible.I mean are girls team is bad, but why punish the boys team.I mean we are the remaining champions and if we do not have a gym that means not as much practices.Yea I have talk about it with my teachers and they think it is a bad.Yea I will travel to the armory,and we will have to share the gym with three other schools.So why stay here and suffer all this payne when you can transfer out of monongah and have a gym all to yourself.
The thing that I think closing the gym will effect the most is the basketball games. Without a gym big enough we won't be able to play any home games. I have not really talked about it much because I feel there is not much that I can do. If we have to travel to the armory it will not be a problem for me because my dad goes there, but I know that it will be a hassle for most of my friends.
I am a cheerleader for MMS and I think that closing the Big Gym is a bad idea. If we don,t have the Big Gym than probably no one will play sports, because they would have to travel clear to the armory. Also if the Big Gym is closed than even if we do still have like basketball and cheerleading and stuff they will probably be bad. Well there you have my opinion about the Big Gym.

I think it is stupid of them to close the gym. I was thinking of playing basket ball next year, because it was so close. I have told my dad about this and he said so it dose not effect me. I will probley play basket ball next year even tho my dad will have to drive me all the way out to the armony. Me, I think it would be funny because then we will have to play band in the autotoreum.
I think the closing of our gym is terrible. Our basketball team will have to have our home basketball games at the armory. All our practices will have to be in our small gym. I think it will affect the team because some kids might transffer or quit because of no gym. If we have to practice in the little gym we will not be able to play on a full size court. Kids will also quit because of the drive to the armory. I don't know if I will still play since we lost our gym.
I think the closing of the gym is a stupid idea since we have been using it for awhile now for gym class. In the future our school will have the class periods mixed up since 7th and 8th grade have geen all one semester and when 6th or 5th need to use it we will already be in there. I never discussed it with anyone and not with my parents since I would think they would have nothing involved with it. I will contiinue to play all my sports since I do not use the gym for any of the sports I play. In thsi case I always had to travel and even to Pennsylvania.
the closeing of our gym i think that all of us need the gym because if we loose the gym we will not have a place for the dances and the basketball games and if we loose the gym some people will change schools and why should they have to do that when we could have our own gym then we will not have to go through the hassel. i dont think it is fair for the athletes who play basket ball i also think it is fair that they are doing away with our gym. if they take our gym i will be upset because we have gym in there.
The closing of the gym is terrible. The basketball team and the cheerleaders will have to parctic in the smalll gym. I would tell them that if we lose the gym were will we hold alll of of are programs that we have. No because my grandmother doesn't want to waste her gas to go to the armory.
I think that closing the gym is a bad idea. Our school's only sports need the big gym to practice and play games. If they take away our gym we would have to have all the games and practices at the armory. not as many people would come to the games. We would have to share the gym with a few other schools, so they wouldn't get as much practice in. We also wouldn't have our fifth grade classes, band and music room, and we also use the big gym for gym class. It wouldn't be good at all if they did take that area away. I bet a lot of kids in our school would switch schools because ours would be so crowded. I have told my mom that she should call and complain but she hasn't yet. I really hope we don't use the annex.
I do not like the closing of the gym. I think it will affect this school in a bad way. I know the students who are on basketball team will be even angrier about the closing. Many kis don't like the school as it is; this just makes it worse. I personally hate the idea of it closing. This small gym is just that, small. Playing different games in it will be impossible. Everyone will have to play the same game, and many won't like it. In summary closing the gym is a bad idea.

I don't think closing the gym is a very good idea. It will affect the school in a derastic way. Students who play on our sport teams will have to travel to play or even just to practice. We won't have any place to hold big activities or some classes. They should atleast let us keep the gym for sports. the closing of the gym has already made several stundents and even parents angry. I have told my parents about it and they want to help. Hopefully they will decide not to close the gym and let us keep it.

If we don't have that gym anymore we won't have basketball, cheerleading, or sometimes gym classes. I think that closing the gym is a really stupid idea. We have a lot of tallented basketball player's and they can't even have there own gym to practice in; that's really messed up. Everyone here know's that our basketball is one of the few sports that we have, and we are actually good at it to. But if they were facing our teams they would lose.Troy think they would win because he think they are the best team in the league.Haveing the Armory would be horrible but they should keep the big gym so we can practice more and the boy can practice so theyt think they will be better than they are now.
I think that closing the gym is a big mistake, because if the do take down the gym the people who use the gym daily is going to be disapointed. The basketball team will need a gym to have games and practice in. The little gym in side of the school is to small to have a bunch of people in it and have practice's in it. It is terrible because I will continue to play sports, but it will effact me alot now that we do not have a good place to play.
I think that the closing of the gym at MMS is rediculas.I feel that it shouldn't be closed because we play basketball there and if they close it nobody is ganna go to the armory it is to far.I haven't talked to any of the techers yet but I don't think they like it either I mean really the Cathlic school doesn't have a problem with it so why can't we keep it? I think that the closing of the big gym is a bad thing to do because there are alot of acitvities that take place at the gym including assemblies, basketball games and practices, gym classes and alot of other stuff. I think that if the school cannot use the gym it will make a lot of people mad especially the students. I do not play any sports for the school, but I still think that it would be a bad idea if the school will not be able to use the gym in the future. I have not menchined much to my parents to my parents about the gym but I sure am going to.

I think closing our gym is stupid,we use it all the time for gym,practices,parties,and dances,and this little gym is way way to small for any of that.It's dumb!
Hmmm....well I don't know what to think about them closing the big gym.But I wish they wouldn't like it because we have gym in there all the time and it makes me mad cause the bored doesn't want to pay for it anymore cause they tink oo it no big deal we don't care if all their parents are mad at us.....well if they want to be that way they can! I think that closing the gym will be bad for the school. Because were will the basketball teams play. Were will we have assemblies at, and when the kids want to losen up were will we have are dances at. When the basketball players have practice they will have to practice at the armory. They will have to play games there to. I think it's horrible.
I dont know what to say about this but most people are going crazy about it. I am upset about this because the students at the school will have to use the small gym and it really is small.
The basketball teams should be mad the most, forget the chearleaders they dont really do anything any way. That was one of the promblems why the girls basketball team sucked so bad. The boys basketball team is the best thing we have because they cant be defeated.

I think they should not close down the gym at MMS because the students need the gym for sports, gym classes, school dances, assemblies, and other important stuff. If there is no gym than the 7th and 8th grade gym classes will have to share the small gym and will not be able to have a normal gym class. Most of the assemlies need to have space to set up the equipment they need to present to students. I hope the gym is not closed down because MMS needs it.

I think that if you close our gym than we would have no place to have our basketball games. We worked so hard to become the Maison Dixens Champs. I don't play basketball but your making a big mistake to close the gym. We would have to drive to the armory just to have our games. In summary please don't close our gym.

Though I don't play basketball or anything else that pertains to the gym I think it would be much harder to play the sports and, we would loose a lot of our players. ok first of all i play baseketball for mms and i think this is balonie. I ean we need that for are athletes ,plus we use that for p.e class. oh yea the girls dident have the best season this year but they will shape up this year but we need our gym.
