This is one of the most famous speeches ever delivered because he was saying that he thought that, as human beings, we could get over the color of our skin and just get along. He was trying to stop the seperation of different races.
The part of the speech that I find most memorable is simply the line, "I have a dream." I have only heard the full speech once or twice, and because of this, I don't remember much. I always remember the one line, though.
The overall meaning of this speech was that he believed that we could get over our different colors and just act like we were all the same.
His purpose was to let people know that he thought it was possible to end segregation.
He was assassinated.

This is one of the most famous speeches due to the fact that is was stated in the nation's capitol infront of an enormus amount of people with everyone knowing of this speech it has been turned into songs, probably the most well-known one being the one by Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas. It is so famous because it was given to show the reasons on why african-americans should have the same rights as caucasian people. The most memorable part of this speech to me was when he stated "I have a dream" to open up because I've seen so many movies, heard so many songs, and listened to lectures portraying the speech at this point, hence it is the most memorable part of the speech for me. King was a pastor from Atlanta,Georgia. Also he was separated from his white frieds due to the decision of different skin color in his childhood. In my opinion he will always be the most well-known male civil-rights activists due to his belief of not believing in fighting physically, but verbally in a peaceful way.

I think this is one of the most famous speeches because It tells about Martin Luther King Jr. trying to get rid of the segregation between blacks and whites. "I Have a Dream" is a 17-minute public speech by Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered on August 28, 1963, in which he called for racial equality and an end to discrimination, I do think the whole thing would be memorable. Martin Luther King Jr.'s purpose in making his "I Had A Dream Speech" is, to tell everyone about why black people should have rights in the world along with white people and to not be punished in a more brutal way to the white people. Here is one fact about Dr. King, that Dr.King was an important african american.

This is one of the most famous speeches because it was talking about black people’s rights. My favorite part of the speech is the hundred year later part. What I believe he is trying to say is that after all this time they still didn’t have freedom. The meaning of the speech was about Negros having the same freedom as white people. The purpose of the speech was to send a message to the white people. A fact of Dr. King is that when he was little he had a few white friends, but the white kid’s mother wouldn’t let them play with him because he was black. This is what started the spark that turned into an inferno. Another fact is a few years later he got a job as a preacher that is where he got his talking skills.

Martin Luther King lived through very rough and trying times. He was a preacher that tried to change the minds of many white people that thought that they were better than others. It is very sad the way people thought back in those days! African Americans couldn’t even go to school with white people. I think the most memorable part is when he says…FREE at last…Thank God Almighty we are Free at Last! The speech explains that one day all African Americans should be free to talk, live and do the same things that white people should do. It is a shame that they were treated so badly! In Washington D.C. they are putting a new monument to honor him and the things that he stood for.
