The topic I chose from We didn't start the fire are the Rosenbergs. The Rosenbergs were United States citizens that were spy's for the Soviet Union. The were charged with Conspiracy to commit Espionage during war time. The Rosenbergs were convicted on March 29, 1951, and on April 5 were sentenced to death by Judge Irving Kaufman under Section 2 of the Espionage Act of 1917, 50 U.S. Code 32 (now 18 U.S. Code 794), which prohibits transmitting or attempting to transmit to a foreign government information "relating to the national defense." They died on June, 19, 1953 in Sing Sing Prison. The relation is the passing of information about the atomic bomb to the Soviet Union.

writes Joel in his chorus, which has brought many attacks on him for “whining,” blaming others, and concluding that little can be done to improve our lot. Critics forget that the song is a work of imagination, and doesn’t necessarily present the view of its author. But if it does, the point may be that celebrities like Joel are just ordinary people with their problems and virtues writ large, sometimes monstrously large. Celebrities could stand out as symbols of dilemmas we all face—or avoid facing. If that’s true, Joel and “We Didn’t Start the Fire” are very good examples of these fundamental dilemmas.

The topic I choose to talk about is elvis presly. Elvis was and still is the king of rock and roll. He was the icon of his era. When he would perform it would be as glorius as a day in the sun at the beach. He ended up dieing by a heart attack. His songs still live today. THe fire is refering to the era of the people the song was talking about. The fire is not a metaphor but a hyperbole.

I am writing about disneyland which opened in 1955 in California. Disneyland was designed as an entertainment place for people. It is based on cartoon characters on disney tv. In disney they do not sell any alcholic bevrages. Disneyland is a place for kids and their family. The fire is refering to all the topics talked about and the places. Disney has also made a Disneyland in Orlando, Flordia. This park has made an impact on the world and parks today.

The topic I chose was little rock. Little rock is a town in Arkansas who during the civil rights movement was very prejudice. All the white kids went to different schools then the black kids, and the white kids school was much better. It was also the sight of the little rock nine incident during the civil war. What happened was that they were trying to integrate the black kids into the white school. Therefore, they tested it out with nine kids. As you could have guessed it didn't work well. only one graduated because the rest wimped out. I think that the fire is the concepts and people the song talks about and what these concepts and people stood for.

The individual I selected from this catchy song is a well-known character, Peter Pan. The animated movie was produced by Walt Disney and is based on the play "Peter Pan" or "The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up." In the Walt Disney Animated Classics series, it is the 14th film, and it was released originally on February 5th, 1953 by RKO pictures. It is also the second Disney animated film starring Kathryn Beaumont, Heather Angel, and Bill Thompson after their roles in the animated feature Alice in Wonderland. The film is about a boy who refuses to grow up and he pays a visit to the Darling family. He takes the three children to a place called Neverland, where they would never grow old. After adventures and battles, the children return home. I've always loved this movie and have watched it many times. The 'fire' in the song is referring to important events that have taken place throughout United State's history.--Kylie Bushko 6th period

The topic I chose to write about is Disney Land. it opened in 1955 in California. It was created for the enjoyment and entertainment of the people who attended the park. Disney made sure that it was a place for kids and their families. They did this by creating rules, like no alcohol, to make sure kids were safe. Although many things happen at this theme park everyday, most of it is kept under the table. The fire is referred to as all the places that important events have happened. I think it is more a hyperbole than a metaphor. Finally , the new Disney world in Orlando, Florida is a great place for friends and families of all ages to vacation and visit!

The topic I chose to explain is President John F. Kenndey (JFK). He was an amazing president in January 20, 1961 through November 22, 1963. JFK fought for african american's freedom and thats how he won his election. He also walked in the March on Washington as well. He was assainated on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas and Lee Harvey Oswald. The president was shot in the throat, in the upper back with a fatal shot in the head. JFK died at 1:00pm that day. Then Oswald was murdered by Jack Ruby two days later. I always thought JFK would be a good president but he never lived long enough. The meaning of "We didn't start the fire" is saying that those people in the video and much more didn't make the world bad, it was already bad.

The concept that I selected from this video is the television. Personally I believe that the TV has made a major impact on the lives of US citizens today. On the down side of things, the TV has caused some people to be very lazy and has created obesity for some Americans. On the other hand it has made it possible for US citizens to find out important information on what is happening in our world today. It has also made sports and other activities more accessible to people. In this video the phrase "we didn't start the fire" means that the people in this country may expect changes due to inventions, ideas and concepts, but didn't expect all of the problems. Some are good and some are bad. For example just how the TV has changed our world so drastically.

The individual I chose was Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn was a famous actress, model, and singer. She starred in many successful movies during the 1950’s and early 1960’s. She was born June 1, 1926 in Los Angeles, CA. Marilyn died August 5, 1962 in Los angeles, CA. Marilyn was a very beautiful girl. She was only 36 years old when she died. When she was younger she spent her childhood in all different foster homes. Her hair was orginally brown, but we she had decided to create the charcater Marilyn Monroe, she died it blonde. Everyone today still remembers Marilyn for her many talents. The fire in the song is referring too major events that have occured throughout the worlds history. To me its more a hyperbole than a metaphor.

Micky Manttle is one of the best baseball players in Yankee history. If you don't know who the Yankees are, they are a Major Leauge baseball team from New York. Micky did a lot of amazing things. He was born on October 20 1931. He passed away on August 13 1995. He is in the National Baseball Hall of Fame. One of the reasons Mantle was so good was because he was a switch hitter or in other words, he could hit a baseball from the left and right side. He appeared in 12 Major Leauge world series and was crowned MVP more than once! Micky Mantle was an amazing player!

The topic I chose from this video is Sugar Ray Robinson. Robinson was believed to be one of the best boxers in history. He was born on May 3, 1921 and died April 12, 1989 which means he only lived to be sixty seven. When Robinson was about seventeen or eighteen he had sixty nine knock outs. He went pro at the age of nineteen with eighty six knock outs. From 1943 to 1951, Robinson set the longest winning streak in boxing history. In my opinion I think Robinson was extremely lucky to have been boxing since during his younger years, there was still segregation.

A topic that I like and or choose is in Alabama where it shows Rosa Parks going inside the court house. The reason why I have chosen this specific event is that she stood up to Civil rights. Which created a fight for Civil Rights. Plus, she stood up for other people that didn't want to sit in the back just because of segregation. Also, she is the one who started no more segregation and which started into riots,. Plus, she was sent to the court room were she was asked why she didn't move from the seat on the bus for a white man. Her answer was that she had a hard day at work and didn't feel like moving from the seat for some man. To add on, Rosa Parks was a great woman in all of Alabama for the Civil Rights movement, which had destroyed all segregation and more the less, separation in schools, the buses, and excreta.

The topic I chose was the Mafia. They were a notoriously known group of gangsters who did any crime imaginable. They were at their high point in the 1920s. They were mostly all Italian and American but the original Mafia was created by Sicilians. Sicilians are foreign invaders who bunched together on a island and created there own laws and customs which they called the Mafie but we know as the Mafia. The Mafia basically delt with making deals with companies as assassins. They would basically get hired by a company leader to kill another company leader so it would put them out of business. The Mafia didn't play around, if you didn't pay there money or messed with them you were as good as dead. They did whatever they could to keep their name sacred. Mafia had a thing called the code of omerta which is where the members can't say anything that could give up the Mafias secrets. How the Mafia fell is the members started breaking the code of omerta. The Mafias favorite weapon was the tommy gun or a little knife that was concealable. The government even thinks that they are behind the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa(a trucker who made a deal with the Mafia). They think he's buried under the Giants stadium. I think the fire in the song means all of the important people and events that made the world how it is today whether it is bad or worse.

The topic from the Video i Chose was Einstein. He was born in Germany on March 14th, 1879. He was a mathematician and physicist and is believed to be the worlds smartest man. The phrase "We didn't start the fire" is a metaphor meaning that America is one of the newest countries, "the fire" meaning basically the global time line and all that takes place on it.

But bad in some other place.

The concept I have selected from this song is Sputnik. Sputnik, or Sputnik 1, was the first artificially crafted Earth satellite. This spacecraft measured in with a 23 inch diameter, and it was a polished metal sphere with four external radio antennae that allowed it to broadcast. On October 4, 1957 Sputnik 1 was launched by the Soviet Union into a low Earth orbit. The launch of Sputnik caused an avalanche of events to occur, including the beginning of the Space Age and the triggering of the Space Race among other things. After the launch the satellite traveled at 18,000 mph which took it 96.2 minutes to complete each orbit. Sputnik signaled in for 22 days until October 26, 1957 when the transmitter batteries ran out. Sputnik traveled close to 43.5 million miles and spent 3 months in orbit. Sputnik 1 burned up as it fell from orbit after reentering Earth's atmosphere on January 4, 1958. I believe the fire referred to in the song is the major events that have taken place throughout history that has shaped society today, whether it be good or bad.

The topic i chose was Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn was model, singer, and a actress. She had brown hair which she dyed blonde. In 1955 she told Earl Wilson she was a fan of Goya. While she was still in school she got awarded a fountain pen for an essay she wrote. Marilyn Monroe has some really good quotes one of my favorite is "I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I'm out of control, and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as heck don't deserve me at my best." Many did not make it up to space but many died due to parachute failure. Monkeys were very smart so they were the ones who got assigned the task of going to space. Monkeys were not the only ones onboard the ship. Mice were among them as well. A well know monkey named Able was in the movie “ Night at the Museum 2”.

I always wanted to go to Disney Land, but when does anyone have the time to anymore. It is tough getting a day off. I always pictured myself next to Cinderella whenever I see the Disneyland commercials. If go to Disney Land I can just picture myself feeling like a princess for one day. I feel like a princess everyday though because my friends and family treat me really good and it makes me feel proud that I can feel this way. Peter Pan was my favorite Disney Channel movie besides the Little Mermaid. My favorite character is Peter and I always hoped at the end Peter and Wendy would kiss but when they didn't I cried. Marilyn Monroe is my inspiration. I love how she is so pretty and just perfect. I always wanted a Marilyn Monroe piercing which is located on your face where Marilyn had her mole that was just so perfect like her. Einstein was a genius of course. Last year I had to do an egg and dress it up like him and I used my cats gray shedding hair as his hair and painted a tux on him and decorated a shoe box like a lab. The meaning behind the song was to show that not all famous tributes happened in the present there were a lot of inspirational events and memories in the past. You just got to do some research to get some fun facts.

Peter Pan has his little assistant know as Tinkerbell. As most books and movies, it went through several different stages. Peter Pan is a classical movie loved by children all around the world. "The fire" basically is talking about all of the important things that happened in history. By that I mean things that changed the world in a good or bad way,and all the legendary heroes there are. That is basically what the song is trying to say.

They have bombed each other and other bad things. They have a thing on the border to see who is crossing. They have to check who's coming frome each side. The song is referring to what happened in some of the stories. Like the one I'm doing. That is what makes it a metaphor

As a child, Marilyn stayed at a lot of foster homes. Throughout her teenage years and her early 20s she started modeling. A few years later, she was offered her first acting job. After that, Marilyn starred in many films. Marilyn eventually died, some believe it was a drug overdose and others think it was other forms of suicide. Since the video didn't work, I was told to choose a movie or something. The movie I've chosen is Finding Nemo. This movie is great because it is inspirational. It was one of the first movies I've ever seen. I'm not exactly sure what exactly I'm supposed to write, so I'll just describe it. Nemo's mother gets killed so his father is overly protective of him. Nemo gets kidnapped, so his father goes on an adventure to find him.

The topic I selected is Peter Pan. The animated movie was produced by Walt Disney. The show is based on the play "Peter Pan".Peter Pan is a character created by Scottish novelist and playwright J. M. Barrie. A mischievous boy who can fly and never ages. Peter Pan spends his never-ending childhood adventuring on the small island of Neverland as the leader of his gang, the Lost Boys, interacting with mermaids, Native Americans, fairies, pirates, and occasionally ordinary children from the world outside of Neverland. In addition to two distinct works by Barrie, the character has been featured in a variety of media and merchandise, both adapting and expanding on Barrie's works.

John Fitzgerald Kennedy was elected the 35th President of the United States in 1961. He served as President until 1963 when he was assassinated during a parade traveling along Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas on November 22. He was with his wife, Jacqueline, Texas Governor John Connally and his wife Nellie. His assassin was Lee Harvey Oswald.

After President Kennedy's assassination, Lyndon B. Johnson, who was Vice President at that time, became the new President.

The metaphor for this song is how events in the world change how the world is. The fire symbolizes actions people take, for right or wrong reasons, and how the world evolves from it.

People are still conspirasising about his death. they are allways finding new evidence to lead them some where new. some people say that there was only one person that shot him. some say that there was two people that shot him. I think the song we didn't start the fire means that we as a world is always changing in a way. The things that where being told in this song where events from 1949 to 1989 when the world was changing the most.

The topic I decided to write on from the song is the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. On November 22, 1963 before he had even finished his first thousand years in office, was killed by an assassin as his motorcade wound through Dallas, Texas. The man who killed the president was Lee Harvey Oswald and he acted alone on his crime, or at least that as what criminal investigators said. There are many theories as to explain the reason behind of JFK’s assassination, those who committed the crime, and other conspiracies. However, no one truly knows why he was killed and if Lee Oswald truly acted alone.

The topic from we didn't start the fire I chose was Moonshot. Moonshot is when neil armstrong was on the moon in 1969. Everyone was going crazy when they found out that a man had walked on the moon. That was one of the many highlights of 1969. Back then you had the camaro and mustang getting popular, along with the trans am and the firebird

H sang one of the most popluar songs of history in that movie. Living in america. My grandfather listens to him a lot. He likes the way he danced. Most people did like the way he danced!Thats another thing he was known for. He had a long carer but he is dead now!

The people I chose were the band Linkin Park. They are a rock type band but they don't talk about anything bad. I have listened to almost all their songs and I haven't heard one cuss word. One of their songs, Castle of Glass, is about soldiers families who have to deal with the grief after their loved ones death. That band is my favorite and they are really inspirational.

The topic/person I choose is Marilyn Monroe. She is a very beautiful woman. She didn't have a tight stomach and skinny thighs, but she was counted as one of the most beautiful women ever. And I think young girls should look up to her and not worry about their weight.

The topic I choose is Television because it became an appliance almost all homes have now and influenced culture. Television began to gain mass popularity in the 1950s. Television revolutionized the way people consumed media forever. When it started Televisions used Vacuum tubes
to transfer the signal to the screen. Hardly any stations were available and it was often an unstable connection. By just the end of 1951 there were 8,000,000 TVs sold in the U.S. In the 1960s pople were getting more news on television than in the newspaper. Color TVs and Remotes were avilable in the 50s but most people got them in the 60s or 70s. Since then many advancements have been made to televisions and broadcasting stations.

Before astronauts were able to take flight into space other living creatures tested the way to help form human space flight. Fruit flys were the first living creatures to test the effects of DNA and radiation. The fruit flys were sent up with some corn seeds in 1947. When the capsule was recovered the flys were well and alive. The first successful monkey to be sent up into space was Albert the 2nd. On June 14th 1949 Alberts flight didn't go as well as the fruit flys. His parachute had a dysfunction and he was killed with landing impact. Many more monkeys were tested for space flight though none were successful with remaining alive. On May 28th, 1959 two monkeys Able and Miss Baker were successfully survived the flight into space. This helped us form what we now have been able to do, human space flight!
