Women in Art

This is a chronology of women as they are depicted in art. Do you know any of the artists represented in the video? Are you artistic? Have you been to a gallery or a museum? How is the depiction of women different through the ages?

Yes, I do know one of the artists represented in this video. This artist is Leonardo Da Vinci who created the Mona Lisa in 1503. I am artistic. I love creating and drawing creatures and animals that come to mind. Yes, I have been to a children's art museum in Ohio when I was young. When the paintings first start out they are drawn with smooth light colors like tan, and light brown and have lots of detail in their outfits and hairstyles, but look really similar until the video reaches it's half way point. Then, in the later ages the portraits included more colors that were mixed in and the detailed backgrounds stood out more with the women in the paintings. Also, the women's style changed throughout the years including hats, jewelry, and accessories.

Yes , I know several artists portrayed in the video . Although , I can't name all of them but I recognize a lot .
I'm not artistic and almost failed art in fifth and sixth grade , despite what people say it's not the easiest class out there ! I wish I was artistic and had a good imagination because some people create really amazing stuff that way . Also , I have not been to any place where you can view art . My family isn't into that stuff and neither am I . The depiction is different because some of them change wardrobe , accessories , or just their style in general .

I know several of the artists, who are depicted in this video. One of them being Leonardo Da Vinci. I wouldn't describe myself as artistic, although I do enjoy drawing. I have been to a few museums, but the only one I can remember is the Toy and Train Museum in Wheeling. There are several ways in which the depiction of women have changed. The main reason is that the styles used a long time ago differ from now in many ways. The styles change constantly.

No i do not know anybody that represented this video. yes i am really artistic and i really enjoy drawing. I haven't been to one museum at all but i really want to go and see what it looks like inside of a museum. The depiction is different because some of them change wardrobe, accessories, or just their style in general.

I do know one of the artists represented in this video. Leonardo Da Vinci created the Mona Lisa. I am artistic in some ways. I am musicaly artistic but I also love to draw nonobjective art. I can't draw anything very well. I have been to many art galleries with my family because my dad used to be a potter. The depiction of women changes throughout the ages by using accesories such as hats and jewelry.

I don't know very many artist's in this video but the one I do know is Leonardo Di Vinci. He created the Mona Lisa in 1503. I do some stuff that is artistic. Sometimes I like to paint and draw and I made an animation on my computer. Not much of my family is really that artistic.
I don't remember every going to am art museum or anything like that.

The one I do recall is the Mona Lisa created by Leonardo Di Vinci. Other paintings were familiar to me however I do not know who the artist is. I am artistic when it comes to letters. I can draw letters very well. I have always found it fun. Other than this I am not very artistic. I have never been to an art museum, but I don't want to, because I am not very interesting in that kind of stuff. The way the ladies were drawn over the years just amazes me. The ladies look more realistic in some pictures than others.

I do know some of the artists in this video. Leonardo da Vinci was one of the more recognizable people. I am one of the least artistic people ever. I really can't draw that good or do anything in art very well. I have been to a museum of art but that was a long time ago when I don’t remember much of it. Styles of colors and wardrobe have changed how each woman has been depicted in art. Some use very light colors while others use dark colors. Wardrobe has changed from formal to less formal over the years.

I really only seem to know one of the artists in this video. This atrist would be Leonardo de Vinci, and the world famous painting "The Monalisa". I am one of the most least artistic person you will meet. Music does count as an art though, which I am ok at. My family is also very unartistic, and it must run in the genes. I have never had the chance to be able to attend going to an art museum. Honestly, I really don't want to. I just have no interest. The woman in the pictures change as the times change. The older they are, the wardrobe is from that time era. The newer the more stylish style they have.

I do know a few artists represented in this video. I only recognize the names though. I am sort of artistic. I can draw bubble letters pretty good, along with simple sketches. I don't remember going to any museums, but it sounds like fun. The depiction of women change by the accessories and hair styles. It is kind of like how things are changing now, just not the same style. More things are added to accompany plain outfits.

I love art, and I am very interested in the drawings of people. This video was created out of some of the world’s most famous art pieces of women. I am not very familiar with art pieces and their creators, but I’m familiar with the Mona Lisa created by Leonardo Da Vinci. I have been to an art gallery before, but it was so long ago I can’t remember anything about it. I love to draw, and I’m quite good at it. Unfortunately, I am not good at drawing people so I probably will never get featured in an amazing video like this.
One thing that I noticed in particular was that the direction the women’s eyes changed. As time progressed more of them started to look straight ahead. Also, towards the end, the paintings became more abstract. Clothing and appearance also changed as the periods that they depicted changed.

Unknown said...

In this video, one thing that I mainly noticed was the similarity of the women. They all had rosy cheeks and posed quite the same. Yet, the woman who stood out the most was Mona Lisa painted by Leonardo Da Vinci. This painting of his is very popular and sadly, the only artwork I noticed.
I wouldn't call myself the "best artist in the world" but I when I do draw, I try my best. Although, I really enjoy painting and consider myself pretty good at it.
Sadly, I have never been to an art gallery. I want to visit one badly, and would actually pefer to visit one in New York. Yet, I have been to a museum. I've walked through the Smithsonian in D.C. and had an amazing experience. It was truly fascinating.
The depiction of women have changed in many ways throughout the years. Today, women wear more makeup and have completely different styles. The depiction of women, sadly, is not what it used to be.

Someone I know from the video is Leonardo Da Vinci, I have heard of him and seen some of his drawings in the past, but that's about it. I can be artistic if I actually try and focus on what i'm doing! I use to love to draw different things, but in the past that has gotten away from me. I haven't really been to an art museum but I have been through a museum like had famous art drawings in it!

Unknown said...

Yes, I know several of the artist, but i most likely remember the artist Leonardo Da Vinci who created the Mona Lisa in 1503. Yes, I am very artistic! Yes, I went to an art museum in New York a couple years ago. They wear complete different jewlery, hats, and accessories then we do now.

I am not really informed on any of the artists in the video. I am not a big art person, so I was not really familiar with these pieces. It is sad, but I only somewhat recognized the Mona Lisa, because I saw it on a TV show. I have no clue who painted it. There is just so many artists I get them confused. I am creative, but not really artistic. I don't draw a lot. The best things I can draw are: a palm tree, a strawberry, andd a bowl. They are kind of random but, whatever. Suprisingly, I can say that I have been to an art gallery. Actually, I have been to two of them. They were both in Pittsburgh,PA. The first one I went to, I was yelled at by the security guard because I was "about to touch the painting," and that I was"standing to close to the painting." If you call two feet away,"up in its grill!" The second one had freaky statues of tiki heads with no other body part, besides the torso, but bosoms. I was in the 5th grade, so that was hilarious and made me giggle awkwardly. The women changed their style and colors. The newer ones, in my opinion, are way better and more color-filled.

Someone I know from the video is Leonardo Da Vinci. He's a very popular artist from what I understand and his artwork is outstanding.
Personally, I don't find my self artistic at all. Others find me as artisic, but, I just don't see it.
Sadly, I have never been to any type of art museum. I would like to go to one though one day.
The women change in all different ways. From their wardrobe, to their artwork.

I am not really a big art fan but i do know one of the artist in this video which is "Leonardo Da Vinci" who created the Mona Lisa in 1503 i have never been to an art museum or anything like that. but what makes the paintings different from then to now is that the clothes were different and the hairstyle they all have

Yes, I do know one of the artists represented in this video. This artist is Leonardo Da Vinci who created the Mona Lisa. I am not very artistic though. I had a a low B in art class fifth and sixth grade which is very sad. Have I ever been to a gallery or museum. Which is crazy! But, I would love to go to one soon or later. Also, the women have deffiently changed their style and colors. They have more crazy outfits now and there are way more styles and opotions now a days. They have more color and also lots of new expensive jelwery and accessories.

In this video i reconize a lot of the paintings, but the only artist I know that did some of them is Leonardo Da Vinci. No I am not artistic at all I am probably one of the worst artists in this school! I am horrible at drawing pictures and trying to make art! I don't think that I have been to any art museums or galleries, I am not very interested in art since I am not very good at it. The description of women through the ages is different because each women is different in various ways. For example each women is in a different possition and has a different facial expression. Another thing is that the art of the women has evolved throughout the years !

I know one of the artists, Leonardo Da Vinci, which is whom created the Mona Lisa, in 1503. I am not artisitic at all, you couldnt pay me $100 to draw a straight line. I have been to a museum, it was in Pittsburgh, but I don't remember the name because it was so long ago. Many paintings back then. had women with fancy skirts , jewels, hats, and many other features. They are very different than now. they are also more detailed than todays paintings.

Yes, I do know many of the artists shown in the video. I can't name them all but I definatley recognize them. I would consider myself artistic considering I like to paint and draw. I mostly draw in my free time or when I am bored. I have been to gallery in New York with my family a few years ago. I enjoyed it thoroughly because of the sculptures and magnificent art work. Although I'd have to say the sculptures were my favorite.

This video is very interesting in the way that you can see the styles of paintings evolving through the years. I do know a couple of the artists shown, but I'd have to research to be sure. I'm a really artistic person. I'm not as good as I'd like to be, but that's why I practice. Art museums are amazing places. I've been to a few before, but my favorite is one i visited in Wyoming. The depiction of women has changed in shape, color, and styles.

I have seen some of these artists, but don't remember the pictures or the artists name. No I am not artistic, but I may draw once in a while if it's the only I can do. I have been to most of the museums in Washington,DC. They don't to do with art, but I have been to some museums that have had paintings and murals of famous artists. The colors and the way the picture is painted with the colors and the way the painting looks once it is finished. Most artists now have more ways to make the picture come alive and make more realistic. The depiction of the women have changed because of the way artists paint and what they use.

One artist that I had recognized was Leonardo Da Vinci's "Mona Lisa". This painting is one of the most well known paintings ever created. I do think as myself as artistic.I really like to draw and color all sorts of things. You can always find me drawing while I am at home. I have not, however been to an art museum or gallery. I would like to go to one in the future though. During the video I noticed that the early paintings usully included light and plain colors. However, in the most recent ones they included more vibrant colors. Also you can tell the major difference in the clothing that the women are wearing.

The only artist represented in this video that I recall seeing before is Leonardo Da Vinci, who painted the Mona Lisa. I can be artistic to some level, but if you compare drawings or creations of mine to other people's, mine would probably not be the one stated as "the best." I have never been to an art gallery or museum. I have wanted to go to one to see what it is like, but have never had the oppurtunity. Throughout the ages, women are depicted very differently. One major thing I realized was where the woman's eyes were looking. In the beginning, most women were drawn looking off in the distance; however as the video progressed the women were looking straight forward. Also, by the end of the video most of the women were abstract.

The only artists in the video I reconize is Leonardo Da Vinci who paited the Mona Lisa. I am aristic when I realy concentrate but I have t have something to look at in order to draw something really good. I've never been to a gallery or muesuem. I'm not that really into art. The depicion of woman changed by the way they look. Such as clothes, accesories, or shoes. Maybe hairstyle as well because we don't wear those big tall wigs.

Of course I know one of the artists, who doesn't know Da Vinci. I am extremely artistic as you arere very aware i'm sure. I dont think i have ever been to an art museum (shocking, isnt it). Paintins went from just ordinairy artwork, to advertisments.

I recognize many of the works of art portrayed in the video, but sadly none of the artists. I am not artistic in any aspect, but i do like looking at the various art styles. Sadly, I've never been to an art museum, but it'd be nice. The women in later years are more defined than the women in earlier years. the lips, eyes, noses, and even eyebrows are more accurately drawn.

Yes, I know many of the artists represented in the video. Some include Salvador Dali, Leonardo da Vinci, Picasso, Raphael, Botticelli, and Henri Matisse. I love art and I do believe I am artistic. Recently, I have not been to a museum or gallery, but in the past I have been to many. One of my favorite museums was the Andy Warhol Museum, I could spend all day in there. The depiction of women changed as the view of women progressed throughout the different eras such as the Renaissance and Victorian eras. The paintings have varying styles depending on the time. Early paintings were painted from more natural tones. As the different eras passed so did the hair styles and fashion. Towards the end Picasso and Salvador Dali show more vibrant colors and women began being painted as abstract for the first time. Although, no matter what form or medium, throughout every painting the beauty of women is expressed.

Unknown said...

I recognize many of the paintings. However, I only know the name of Leonardo Da Vinci who painted Mona Lisa in this video.

In my opinion, I'm not very artistic. Although after a very, very long time of redrawing, I am able to create a picture that makes me seem pretty artistic. In some was I may be more artistic than I think.

When I was younger, before my sister was born and when she was young, my mom took us EVERYWHERE! She took us to many museums. We went to a few art museums, but mostly we went to hands-on children's museums and stuff such as that. Now, we don't really travel to museums.

Through the years, the deception of women has changed by becoming more abstract to an extent that the women don't even look much like women. Also, in the begining, the womens' faces were very similar and as they shifted and melted into a new picture, they looked extremly similar to the picture before. Other examples include the style, hair, accessories, and clothing that changed dramatically looking from the first few pictures to the last few.

i have no clue who any of these artists are. and i am definatly not artistic. pretty much that i can draw perfect. are shapes like circles or squeres. i have been in a museum. it was in charlston and it was in fourth grade. it was really cool with all the shapes and pictures and figures. and the trip waas the worst thing ever, almost three hours. i hated it. and the depiction through womens age is weird how they all like something different.

I dont really know any of these artist's. but ive seen those pictures before but i dont know about them really. i'm not an artistic because i dont not like to draw. personally i dont liuke to draw but i used to draw all the time.I have never been to a museum and i probalyy never will because i dont think that is very cool. she is just doing diffrent poses alll through out this video..

No, I relly don't know any of them; but I have seen the picture befor but that is about it. No i suck at drawing or anything that comes with art. When i try to do something artistic it comes out wrong. To be honest with you i was a better artistic when i was in the 2nd grade. Yes, i have been to a museum when i was in like the second or third grade. The pitures are the same person through-out the whole video.

I know only one of the artists/pictures; the Mona Lisa. I used to be very artistic but aren't anymore. I have been to the Smithsonian with my mom and sister for a project she had to do but I really enjoyed it. The depiction of love and beauty changes in each painting, but is represented in the same way, through their body language.

But in lately, women's depection's have become very disrespectful, unnecessary, and horrible.

Unfortunatly I was unable to see the video, so I might have a little trouble answering the questions, but yes I go to a museum about every six months. Although I love art I usually don't look at the art that much. This is usually because I can see the art online, but I love to see exibits, and you can't replace that feeling of seeing all those historic pieces in person.

There is one picture that I know of in the video, the Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci. No I am not very artistic and often times don't draw unless forced to. I have been to a few museums, but I was to young to remember them. Women back then were often thought of as insuperior and only used for the pleasure of males. Now women are thought of as equals except for the occasional person who still treats them inequally.

I went last year with my mother and uncle to the Smithsonian. I have to say it was one of the coolest places I have ever been to. I could see the picture changing by just looking at their hair and hats.

The only picture that I am familiar with is the Mono Lisa. I am not artistic. If I were to draw a unicorn people would probably think it was a turtle. The sad thing is I am being completely serious when I say that. I have been to Carnegie's museum and the Believe It or Not Museum at Myrtle Beach, but if I have been to others I do not remember them. Their looks change by clothing and accessory's.
