copyright



What are copyright laws? What is public domain? What is a parody? Can you name some items that are copyrighted? As a student, how could you get it trouble by infringing upon a copyright?

Copyright laws are laws that permanently fix original work that can be seen or heard in some way so that only the copyright owner has the right to use his or her own work. Many things are copyrighted such as plays, movies, music, dances, and books.

Public domain is where usually the copyright law has expired, a material was never copyrighted, or the material is uncopyrightable and now anyone can use the work that has been created. Parody is where a work makes fun of another by imitating it in a mocking way.

I could get in trouble by the law if I were to use something that was copyrighted. I might have to pay a fine or I could get into more serious trouble.

As a student, you could get in trouble if you took songs from the computer and downloaded it without permission and made a disc. Another example is videos, if a student were to copy the movie without the creators permission this is wrong. Also pictures, if a student took them and scanned them on the computer to make a copy of them, this is illegal because of the copyright law.

i don't really know what any of that is but some items that are copyrighted are songs, movies,plays, and a hole bunch of other stuff


as a student it is not that hard to get in trouble for copywriting. if you copy and paste items then you r copywriting. you should nmot copy and paste things any ways because you should do the work yourself if you want the credit for it.

i think that if a student copys and pastes something for their homework then they should be upunished severly. copywriting is illegal and is not allowed. At least it was the last time i checked. i am not so sure about that now.

Copyright laws are laws that give the creator of a work of any kind exclusive rights. Such as money, and promoting. If someone takes the persons creation and uses it in a way that is illegal in accordance to the (C) laws they can be fined or imprisoned. A public domain is usually something that has no copyright. Parody is just taking something and turning it into something funny WITH permission from the owner. If I were to use copyrighted material in a way that breaks the copyright laws i could be fined or imprisoned. I could copy and paste material from a copyrighted website.

It's forbidden to use a copyright work without the permission of the copyright owner. Anyone who doesn't have permission by the copyright owner has broken the law.

Parody is when someone uses work from a copyright and doesn't have permission, you better be able to pay the copyright's owner.
Some items that are copyrighted are books, plays, music, dances, movies and pictures.

As a student, how I could get into trouble upon a copyright is using an item that has a copyright on it.
You can't copyright an idea. We can only copyright the form of an idea.
A copyright use to last for at least fourteen years, now a copyright can last for a lifetime (According to the blog.)

Copyright laws are regulations that the government has set on works that protect the original artist or creator. The permanent, original work as seen or heard can only be used by the owner. The owner has the exclusive rights to use the document. A copyright is usually in place as little as 14years but can last indefinitely.
Public domain relates to the idea that the “piece of work” is free for anyone to use. Anyone in society has access to use this without breaking the law of a copyright. The material is public property.
A parody is created to mock or make fun of an original work. It doesn’t really change the original work, but makes fun of it.
Some items that are usually or almost always copyrighted would be the following: movies, books, music, plays, dances, pictures. Anything that is an original and the creator wants it to remain an original.
As a student we could get in trouble breaking copyrights by downloading music without the artist’s permission, copying movies and videos without permission. We have to make sure if we copy and paste that we use a bibliography to give credit where it is due.

The public domain is the status of a literary work or an invention whose copyright or patent has expired or that never had such protection. Amost every book, movie, song, and srt work is copyrighted. As a student you could get in trouble by infringing upon a copyright you could get a zero on that assignment or maybe even in the class depending upon the importance of the assignment.

To be even more exact they are laws stating that you can not copy something if you do not pay for it, ask the person who made it, or endless it’s your own. Public domain is land owned by the government or at least that is what it states on dictionary.com. Movies, music, and books are some of the items that are able to be copyrighted. A parody is an entertaining imitation of a piece of writing. Some ways teens can get in trouble with copying are defiantly within you tube by copying the music without buying it.

A copyright law states that you may not use something that belongs to another person unless you do one of the following: 1)Pay for the use of the work. or 2) Ask the business, company, or person whom owns that work for permission to use the work.

Public domain is when a work has expired its copyright law and therefore then enters the free world for any use that the society desires.

Parody is when a work somehow mocks another work by immitation.

As a student, if I broke a copyright law the business, company, or person whom owned that work could sue my family for use of they work, or sentence me to community service.

The public domain is all the people in society. The public domain doesn’t just copyright, they also use parody. Parody is a humorous or satirical imitation of a serious piece of literature or writing. Copyrighting is done by everyone: teachers, students, governmental persons, ministers, etc. Teachers could copyright assignments. Students could copyright essays and reports. Governmental persons copyright speeches. Ministers copyright sermons. Copyrighting is illegal and is punishable by law. Nobody should do it.

Public domain means it's for the public. Some items that are copyrighted are songs, Cd's, movies, slogans,books, and authentic items. Copyright laws make an owner's work only legal to use by them. This is as long as the work can be heard or seen. No ideas can be copyrighted unless they are created.

The public domain is the time it takes for a copyrighted work to become legal for the public to copy. They can copy it for educational purposes like in this film or can be copied for other purposes. It really depends on the time it takes for a copyrighted work to expire.

Some things that are copyrighted include a lot of stuff. One thing that can be copyrighted is movies. Another is music. A dance can be. A picture or other form of art can be. A novel or other literary work can be copyrighted. Even plays can be copyrighted. These are the main things that can be copyrighted.

A parody is when something makes fun of something else. This could be on a commercial or on a comedy. Parodies in my opinion are shallow ways to get someone else's business from somewhere else.

Violating a copyright law could most likely get you into major trouble. You can infringe upon a copyright law by doing many things. You could illegally download something, burn a disc, or something as simple as leaving out a site out when mentioning sites you used for a power point. It is all bad to do.

Public domain is when something hasn't been copyrighted, the copyright is expired, or if the work is not able to be copyrighted and is able to be used by the public and nobody can make money off of it. A parody is when you mock a work. For example, Epic Movie is a perfect example of a parody becuase it makes fun of every movie that came out in 2006. One way that I could get in trouble by infringing upon a copyright is if I took a copyrighted work, renamed it and sayed that I did it. Vanilla Ice got in trouble with Queen for using the music to "Under Pressure" in his song "Ice Ice Baby" and he would have been sued for using a copyrighted work if he didn't add one extra note to the tune.

Yeah i like this movie.It is very entertaining and funny. Copyright is the exclusive right to make copies. alot of people do it illegally by playdorism and pirating videos and stuff like that. I dont know why people do it. I think they do it because they are to frugal and selfish to spend their money on the things that they really want. Books, Videos, Plays, Dances, Music are all things that can be copyrighted. The one most common thing i have seen copyrighted is books. You should never infringe upon copyright because you could get in trouble and have a lot of problems. You could get fined big time for illegal copyright if you get caught. You could get into maoney problems. This one kid owed gmail 60,000 dollars because they saw on his email account that he was using limewire. He got fined and his parents had to pay that money to gmail. It was horrible. He was in so much troubl and i bet he never does that again.

Public domain is a copyright law that has expired. There are very few public domains because they last a very long time as of lately. A parody is a movie or story that includes satire and humor about another idea that isn’t theirs’. Some copyrighted things include movies, books, logos, or songs. Specific copyrighted items are MySpace, The Chronicles of Narnia, Spiderman, and A Wrinkle in Time. You could get in trouble by being sued or you could fail because it is not ethical.

Copyright laws are when someone isn’t legally allowed to copy an idea that has already been thought of. For example if you took the movie Narnia and charged people to watch it and said you produced it, tat is copy write. Public domain is when a copyright sentence runs out and the public can use the idea for themselves. For example if Holes copyright ran up than you could charge people to watch it and say you wrote it. As a student you could get in trouble by infringing up a copyright when you copy off other people’s work. Also you could be infringing on these blogs if you write the same sentences as other people.

Copyright is a legal concept, started by most governments. It gives the creator of an original work exclusive rights to it, usually for a limited time. It gives the copyright individual the right to be given the credit for the work.

You have to follow several steps to register your book, manuscript, online work, poetry, or other text: Step 1- Make sure your work is a literary work. Literary works may be published or unpublished and include textual works with or without illustrations. Computer programs and databases also are considered literary works. To register serials and periodicals- Put into one envelope or package:
It takes a $45 payment that is sent to "Register of Copyrights." It will be nonreturnable copies of the material to be registered.

The public domain is a range of abstract materials that are not controlled by anyone. When the copyright expires, the work enters the public domain. About 15 percent of all books are in the public domain, including 10 percent of all books that are still in print. These materials are "public property", and available for anyone to use for any purpose.

A parody copies a work of art, literature, or music for the purpose of making playful fun or a joke of the original work. A parody may make fun of other works it is imitating or may just be for comedy.

A parody involves a serious work that has been changed to make it seem silly or funny by mocking or pointing out shortcomings in a original work. A parody is similar to a spoof. The word parody comes from the Greek word paroidia meaning a song sung alongside another. In current culture, a parody can be print, audio and visual media. Copyright laws are complex when dealing with a parody. Since the original work is copyrighted to the original creator, the legal argument begins from the new work based on the original. In many cases, the creator of parody must acquire permission from the creator of the work they have in mind to spoof.

Some items that are copyrighted are trademarks like “McDonalds” arches, songs, books, and phrases. Names, images and logos are all items that can be copyrighted.

If you do use something that is copyright without that permission of the owner you are breaking the law and you will be fined.

Parody is an imitation of pieces of work. They are usually humorous.
There are a lot of things that are copyrighted in the U.S. like songs, movies, books, and even pictures.
A student could take someone else’s copyrighted essay of the internet and say it was there’s. They could be fined and kick out of school. Someone could also take copyrighted music and burn in onto a CD and cell it; they could be fined or go to jail.

If you create something, and it fits the definition of a creative work, you get to control who can make copies of it and how they make copies, with some important exceptions.


So, basically copyright laws are so make sure that if you make up something or if it was your idea first, that no one tries take it and say that it was theirs first. (:

Copyright laws are laws that state that you can not copy someone else's work without getting into trouble. It is very illegal and a lot of people do not like it.
Public domain is a place that public persons are aloud to go to but they can not try and pass of anything there as that person item.
There are many copyrighted movies, songs, pictures, light bulbs even. I could type forever telling how I have seen the same thing twice but with different names on each item.
I could be sued by a lot of people by trying to pass off something as my own, but I am not the type of person that would do that. Plus I do not have any lawyers. :)

A public domain is something that has copyright laws that are out of date or they just do not have any. A parody is a remake of anything that is usually made for entertainment. Some of them are very funny though.

Almost all movies and T.V. shows are copyrighted. Books are also copyrighted so people can't just take the main idea or character names of a book.

Us students could get in trouble by infringing upon a copyright by copying words and other things off of a website for a book report or anything else. If we don't use citations for the websites we used we could get into even more trouble.

A parody is when an artist uses the same tune from a pre-made song, but uses new words. A good parody artist is Wierd Al. Some items that are copyrighted are songs, books, and other literary works. There are a lot of way to get into trouble by copying a copyrighted work. If in school, most teachers will fail you for that assignment. Both my parents are teachers, and if someone copies from the internet or somewhere without quoting it, they fail them for the entire semester. Copyrights are laws that give credit to the creator of a work such as a movie, T.V. show, book or music and there are many other things that can be copyrighted. Public domain is when something hasn't been copyrighted, the copyright is expired, or if the work is not able to be copyrighted and is able to be used by the public and nobody can make money off of it. A parody is when you mock a work. For example, Epic Movie is a perfect example of a parody becuase it makes fun of every movie that came out in 2006. One way that I could get in trouble by infringing upon a copyright is if I took a copyrighted work, renamed it and sayed that I did it. Vanilla Ice got in trouble with Queen for using the music to "Under Pressure" in his song "Ice Ice Baby" and he would have been sued for using a copyrighted work if he didn't add one extra note to the tune.

Copyright laws are laws that prevent people from stealing someone else's ideas, products, etc. Public domain is something that isn't copyrighted, so it belongs to everyone. Artwork is copyrighted as soon as it is made (except congress is considering passing the orphan works bill that would make artsits have to pay to copyright their own stuff, that is JUST WRONG!!!!) Brandnames are copyrighted and I think the secret sauce in McDonald whoppers is copyrighted too. As a student I could get in trouble for copy and pasting someone else's words without giving them credit.

A parody is when somone makes fun of something or somethings, take MADTV for example, they did parodies on "I Love Lucy" and "Star Trek". uMMMM, I don't know any copyrighted things..... I could in trouble by ummm, downloading songs without paying for them.

You have to be careful with copyright laws, because you could go to court or even spend time in jail for using someone's copyrighted work for something else. Public domain is when something is not copyrighted an anyone can use it. For example, the movie It's A Wonderful Life did so bad in theaters that it was made public domain. That's why they always show it on television near Christmas. Too bad for the director and actors. Some items that are copyrighted include music, books, other works of literature, web pages, and art. As a student, I could infringe upon a copyright (though I wouldn't try it) by copying information on a web page for a report or something. Using copyrighted music in Youtube wouldn't be very good to do either.

Public domain is a range of abstract material. Public domains are also referred to as intellectual property. The properties are not owned or controlled by anyone.

As a student, or really anyone for that matter; there are a few ways to get in trouble by infringing upon a copyright. If you copy and paste something that has a copyright law on it and use or sell it as your own you can get into all kinds of trouble.

A public domain is the status of a literary work or an invention whose copyright or patent has expired or that never had such protection.
A parody is the genre of literary composition represented by such imitations.
Books, plays, and music is copyrighted.
If we as students commit copyright infringement we could get a warning for the first offense, our network connection at school will be disabled on the second offense, and on the third offense, your computer will be removed and you would be reported.

This is a very good video that teachs people leasons and that they shouldn't copy right.Because if you copy right you can go to jail,and if you copy right something it isn't as good as it would be if you write it yourself.Like some things that are copy righted is music, books, and even videos.And parody is were people take someone elses work and imate it or mock it.

And if you do either one of these you can get in trouble with the law and you could wined up paying as fine. I also get in to trouble with my family.

Some items that are copyrighted are computers cell phones and so on. As a student I would probly get in trouble for infringing upon a copyright by getting grounded?♥♦♥♦♥♦♥♦

The public domain is the status of a literary work or an invention whose copyright or patent has expired or that never had such protection. Amost every book, movie, song, and srt work is copyrighted. As a student you could get in trouble by infringing upon a copyright you could get a zero on that assignment or maybe even in the class depending upon the importance of the assignment.

OMG I loved this video. I'm a sucker for Disney cartoons. Copyright laws are laws that protect original work from being copied and used by someone other than the copyright owner. Material that hasn't been copyrighted or has a copyright which has expired is in public domain. When in public domain, anyone can use, change, or sell the work that was created by others. A parody is works created to mock, comment on, or poke fun at an original work, its subject, or author, by means of humorous or satirical imitation.
Most anything can be copyrighted. Books, video clips, and inventions are among the most popular. As a student, if I were to infringe upon a copyright, I would be punished within my school as well as paying a fine to the copyright owner.

Copyright is a permanantly fixed original work in some form can be seen or heard.Only the copyright owner has the right to use their work. It's forbiden to use a copyright work without permission granted by the copyright owner and if you do this you are breaking the law.
Public domain is a descrise to the forces of evil. A work in the public domain is free for anyone to use and is nessecary for the society.
Some things that are opyrighted are books, plays, music, dance, movies, and pictures.
As a student, I could get in trouble many ways. I can go to jail by copyrighting another person's property. I could get probation or anything like that.
