Evolution of Dance

Why did the videographer name this piece The Evolution of Dance? What were your favorite songs featured in this video? Did any of the song or dances make you laugh? Ask your parents or grandparents what dances they did as teens...comment on some of them. Do you like to dance? What is your favorite song or dance? Who is a good dancer that you know?

I think that the videographer named this piece The Evolution of Dance because it shows most of the popular dances through different decades and generations of people and how the dances have evolved to the way that people dance today. Some of my favorite songs from the video are The Oompa Loompa Song, YMCA, Thriller, and Can't Touch This. I really liked all the songs and dances and laughed practically through the whole video. I asked my mom, who dances all the time, what dances she did. She said when she was younger they did the Twist, the Mashed Potato, and the Monkey. Later, everyone did Disco Dancing and the Hustle. I know what these dances are, but you would not find me doing those in public or anywhere else! I enjoy dancing when the occasion is right. I don't dance around the house all the time like my mom does. I really like a lot of different songs and dances, but I don't have a favorite. Most people are good dancers, because at parties most people dance pretty much the way they like to.
P.S. This video is made even better because of the humor that Judson Laipply shows and you can tell that he is having a great time! He is also a great dancer.

Yayy second comment haha :) .

The videographer of this piece named it The Evolution of Dance because it has many different kinds of dances in it and that it what an evolution is many different kinds . I like a lot of the songs but most of the ones I liked were all night long, thriller, the chicken dance, ice ice, cant touch this, jump on it, and I like big butts. A lot of the dances made me laugh. The one that made me laugh the most was when he started dancing to jump on it . I asked my mom what all she did and she said that they mostly did the bump, and the twist . I do like to dance but I dont like to out in public places (because im not very good ha). My favorite dance is The Cha Cha Slide I lov that dance :). A good dancer that I know is my brother ,Kevin. Kevin is a really good dancer if you name one dance than he could most likely do that dance :) .

I think the videographer named this video the Evolution of Dance because it shows how much dancing has changed over the years. Today most dances are more angry and less ,uh, modest. The older styles of dance are more modest and more about just having fun. Honestly I didn't really like any of the songs on this video, I prefer a different genre of music. My mom said she used to do the Electric Slide (which is still alot of fun) I like to dance though most of the time I make a fool out of myself. When people say I look stupid I just say "Well you look serious and besides being stupid and goofy is more fun than being serious." I don't really know any good dancers but my brother, Tim, is ok I guess. I don't think it's that he's a good dancer just that he is so funny and out going no one really notices if he is doing something wrong. At his school dance he tried do dance 'old school' and while he failed misrably everyone cheered for him. It was really funny. (some one recorded it. I'm not sure but it might be on YouTube)

My mother not at I nearby, so she could not see, I also don't know her meeting how answer I.I still pretty like to dance of and just not too dare to jump and fear oneself to jump not good. I KNOW that the videographer named this video, "the evolution of dance" because it goes through many songs that go in order from oldest to newest in our present time. my favorite songs were probably, thriller, kung-fo fighting, the robot song, and jump on it. every song on there made me laugh because of the way he danced, BEST DANCER EVER!!!
My mom says she danced to the salsa when she was a teen, i dont really know about that so i cant comment on it. I guess i like to dance a little bit, im no profesional though. Cotten-eyed joe would have to be my favorite to dance to, or jump on it. My uncle jose, he is an awesome ball-room dancer, and he is a tutor on the fox trot because he's so good at it.

the videographer named this the evolution dance because.you have tons of different dances YMCA and thriller that was made a long time ago so basically you have dances that are on here from years ago before i was born and when i was born and even after i was born.i really like the songs they chose

The videographer named it the Evolution of Dance because the video shows how song and dance have evolved over the years into what we have today. My favorite song in this video was THRILLER!!! I also like Jump On It. My mom did the electric slide when she was younger and she also remembers listening to Vanilla Ice. I love to dance but it is usually just goofing around with friends and having fun. I don't really have a favorite song or dance but I do like the Cha Cha Slide. Grant Holbert is a good dancer that I know. He is shy about dancing sometimes but I have seen him dance and he is really good.

I think the videographer named this video Evolution Dance is because in the video it plays all different types of music over the past years. My favorite song in the video was Contini Joe; I guess that is how you spell it. All of them made me laugh but the guy was a really good dancer. My parents, well my mom used to do the electric slide. My dad and I don’t really dance much, I don’t know if he likes it or not but I know I sure don’t and I never have. My favorite song is, “I Don’t Wanna Stop” by Ozzy Osbourn. I know that the dude in this video is a good dancer but that’s really all I know of, my grandparents just do those slow oldies stuff.

I beleive that the videographer named this video the evolution of dance because it shows how dances have evolved through times(not because at the start of the video someone says the evolution of dance or anyhting like that). My favorite songs were thriller, you shook me all night long, and YMCA. The only song that made me laugh was ice ice baby, because it had the most awesome dance moves. I like to dance I dance sometimes like at a school dance or something like that. My mom said she used to do the elecric slide as a teen.

I asked my parents and they said that they did was the mash potatoes, the twist, and the electric slide. To tell you the truth I don’t really know how to do these dances correctly. I have an idea how to but I don’t know if it is the right way. I do love to dance just not in front of people my age. I do know someone that is a great dancer. Her name is Michaela Kendrick she is really good. I use to be in dance, but not any more. I kind of meet Michaela though dance. Another person that I know that is a really good dancer is my friend Emma Moore. I use to dance with her as well.

The videographer named this piece The Evolution of Dance to show dancing from generation to generation. It showed from back in the day with Elvis up to current artist such as 50 cent. My favorite songs in this video were can't touch this, twist, I like big butts, and Mr. Roboto. All the songs and dances mad me laugh because I actually didn't think it would be that entertaining. I laughed thoughout the entire clip. My mom remembers doing Michael Jackson's thriller, the twist, and country line dancing. My grandma also did the twist and line dancing. My dad doesn't dance. I like to dance but I am not very good. I dance a lot in private when goofing off. I sometimes dance at weddings. I liked all the songs and dances. I probably like the MC Hammer song the best, and the can't touch this dance. Most people I know are just average dancers, I can't think of anyone who is an extremley great dancer.

The videographer named this video the “Evolution of Dance” because it shows how dancing has changed throughout the years. I enjoyed AC/DC – “You Shook Me All Night Long”, “Cotton Eyed Joe”, and MC Hammer – “Can’t Touch This!” I know you won’t believe this, but my mom and dad went to see MC Hammer in Concert! My mom said that she danced the whole time!

I thought several of the dances were hilarious! That guy could really dance. I liked the way he would break dance. He just kept going and going! He had a really wide variety of dances too.

My nana and pap and my great - grandparents were known to be REALLY great dancers. (Maybe that’s where I get my moves). They would do the jitter-bug, twist, mash potatoes, and slow dance. Then Rock and Roll came along. My Nana said that in high school they would dance in the Yellow Jacket, which was a place they would eat lunch. They were allowed to leave school for lunch. My mom liked all kinds of music. She and my dad went to lots of concerts. She liked to dance to disco music. They would have dances at her school all the time.

Yes, I do like to dance. I’m not afraid to get out there and dance. My favorite song is “Can I Have it Like That” - My favorite dance is Cotton Eyed Joe. I like a lot of different types of music.

I think that my best friend Grant and I are pretty good dancers. If you don’t think we are…. I’ll see ya at the dance!!!

I wonder...if in another century or two if people dance differently. Then people would laugh at how we dance now...

The reason this video is called the evolution of dance is because the dances start in the 50's and end in the 90's. I do like alot of the songs such as "YMCA", "You Shook Me All Night Long", "Cotton Eye Joe", "Thriller", "Stayen' Alive", & "Can't Touch This". My only problem is he did 1 dances wrong. That was "YMCA" and the letters are not what I'm talking about. You start out by pointing at the croud by bouncing your finger as if you were pointing to individuals going strate across. Then you take your right finger and put it in the air. Then you do the same with your left finger. After that you point with your right finger to the floor by your left foot. Then you do the opposite with your left finger. And last you put your right hand to your right side and do the same with your left hand. Then you do the letters and that is how you do the "YMCA". If I named all of my favorite songs, you would need a bigger webpage but I like songs by Queen, Aerosmith, AC/DC, And Pink Floyd. Some of my favorite dances are YMCA, Thriller, Jump on it, Cotton Eye Joe, The moon walk, and the worm. I'm not to bad at any of these but Tre Waites is an excellent dancer.

I know at some piont in time my dad was dancing to those early song, and any song on the radio...( sighs, wonders why dad is such a dork, and gets back to typing), and than my dad not much of my family realy dances. I would have to say that my favorite songs in the video are Kong Fu Fighting and Oompa Loompa. I remember that many of his dance moves made me laugh but as of now I can't remember any specific songs. My mom said that when she was a teenager, disco was very popular. I would've liked to have seen that. I don't usually like to dance, mostly because I'm terrible at it. Yeah, they were very entertaining and comical. I actually did. I asked my mom what a "Mashed Potato" was, and she showed me. It was hard, well for me anyways... The videographer named this piece the Evolution of Dance because the dancer performed dance routines from the early nineties to late nineties; early 2000s. I recognized almost all of the songs because I listen to a 70s and 80s radio station. My favorite song in the video was Kung Fu Fighting. All of the dances made me crack a smile. The funniest dances were the YMCA, Can’t Touch This, the Robot, and Thriller. My parents didn’t dance when they were teens (pretty dull) and I don’t think my grandparents did that much dancing, either. I do not like to dance because it’s a little embarrassing to me. The Evolution of Dance was a good name for this piece as it showed the different types and styles of music over many years. The piece was very good at showing us quite a variety of upbeat music.

My favorite songs in this video were: Dirt off your Shoulders, Jump Around, Cotton Eye Joe, and Can’t Touch This. Many of the songs with his dances made me laugh. A few were, Dirt off your shoulders, The Brady Bunch song – Keep On, and Shake It.

As a teen my mom and her friends didn’t do any particular dance or dance moves. They just made up moves to the beat of the music. They did have “Line Dances” that they did to some Country Music. Disco dancing was popular in my mother’s teen years but she didn’t really do that kind of dancing.

Yes, I like to dance. I like to make up my own moves to the music. I don’t have a favorite song or dance. I like a variety of music and listen to all types on the radio and on the computer.

A really good dancer that I know is my brother Clint. He can really move on the dance floor. At his Senior Prom he did a solo dance to “Crank Dat Soulja Boy” the kids loved it.
I am also a good dancer. I guess we take after our mom. Her Senior year of high school she was elected the “Best Dancer” in her class.

The videographer named this piece evolution of dance because it starts with old songs and the dances that go with them and works its way up to the newer song/dances.

I really like music, and there was no song on the video that I didn't like. I'd have to say my favorites were Grease Lightning, You Shook Me All Night Long, Thriller, Ice Ice Baby, Can't Touch This, and Jump Around.

I laughed the entire video, probably most at the end when he said "word to your mother", because you don't expect an adult to say something like that or do all of these crazy dances. If that was my dad, I would be so embarrassed! But my dad has no rhythm, so I'm okay.

My mom did the twist a lot when she was growing up. My dad doesn't do "dances" he just makes up his own to songs, like Can't Touch This and Baby Got Back. It's pretty bad and I won't let either of them dance in public.

I guess I like to dance, but unfortunately I have inherited my dad's bad moves.

I have a lot of favorite songs, but most are old because the new songs are pointless and vulgar. I like mostly any genre of music, though, as long as it has good lyrics and sound.

I think our school is filled with good dancers. At our school dances, you see everyone showing their moves. I think one of the best dancers is Cheyann Hammonds. She tries to teach everyone her talent, but it doesn't rub off on me too well.

I think the videographer named this video “the evolution of dance” because it goes over all the big songs over the last fifty years. My favorite song in the video was Thriller, because I know every word to the song by heart. “I like big butts” was one of the funniest songs of its time! When my parents were in high school they liked different types of music. My Dad liked rap like Easy E, but then secretly liked some soft R and B like New Edition. My mom liked English rock bands like Depeche Mode and Wham, but she loved Michael Jackson’s Off The Wall album the most. She even had a leather jacket that looked like Michael’s jacket. Yes the Kung Fu fighting song made me laugh. The dances my mom did when she was a teen was the twist, and in the late teens the electric slide. Yes I like to dance. My favorite dance is 2 step. This dance even has its own song to go with it.

I think the videographer named this piece the evolution of dance because he goes from the 60s to present day. He is a really good dancer. The best song I liked on the blog was thriller. I think the reason this is named the evolution of dance because the guy in the blog does many different dances throughout the songs.

I think the reason the videographer named it evolution of dance because in this video it showed pieces of dance moves as it went through time. In this video my favorite songs were Can't touch this, Thriller, I like big butts , and Ice Ice Baby. Yes, pretty much every song and dance made me giggle. My mom said that she couldn't even remeber all the crazy things she danced to when she was younger. Yes, i love to dance. I believe it helps me express my self in a different type of way. Well i don't really have a favorite song but i lovee the thriller dance even though i don't know how to do it. I think Cheyenne Hammonds and Stevi Austin are probably the two best dancers i know.

The video was named "The Evolution of Dance" because it shows how dance has evolved in the past.My favorite songs in this video would have to be Thriller,Jump On It,or the Chicken dance, although I enjoy the Chicken dance strictly because of the dance. Many of the songs made me laugh, and right at this very minute my mom is doing the entire dance to Thriller and now she is doing the Moon walk. She said that when she was in middle school she did "the bump".This odd dance copnisstes of a series of odd movements. You bump the person next to you with your butt, but you would go down their leg.So you would first bump their hip, then their thigh and so on.I will never, ever do that dance as long as I live. She also did the dance to Thriller and Grease Lightning.I love to dance, even though I look like I am having a seizure or have terrets.I have tons of favorite songs.Every sopng that comes on the radio I claim as my favorite song.i like country,hip-hop,and the 60s,70s,80s,and 90s.I'm just like a little kid when it comes to my Disney music.Radio Disney is one of my favorite stations on Sirius.I haven't seen very many people dance, but I do know that Stevie Austin is a good dancer.I know that Judson Laipply is an awsome dancer, too.

The videographer named this piece The Evolution of Dance because it shows how dancing has changed over the years. Some of my favorite songs are hound dog, the Y.M.C.A. & I like big butts. I laughed at almost everything. My dad said, “He went from two-step’n to head banging.” My mom liked to shake her “rump”. I know what head banging is but what the heck is, “two-step’n”. I love to dance. One day at a make-a-wish dinner I danced to 11 o’clock. I don’t have a favorite dance or a favorite song. My cousin Abby is a good dancer.

think that the videographer named this piece the evolution of dance for numerous reasons. Some of the songs I liked in this video were can’t touch this, thriller, and YMCA. There was on song in particular that made me laugh was the big butts song I really don’t know why I thought it was funny it just was. I asked my parents what kind of dances they did and they responded saying at dances they like YMCA, and Electric slide. I like to dance but I’m really not that good at it. My favorite song in this video was Thriller it is really cool to dance to and is just catchy. I use to know a lot of good dancers at my old school.

The videographer named this video The Evolution of Dance because it showed how dance has changed and evolved in the past couple of decades. My favorite song in this was Can’t Touch This. Yes some of the dances made me laugh; I thought when he did the worm that it was amazing. When my dad was a kid he danced to “The Twist” and “The Fruge”. The Twist was a poplar dance that I have heard and I think maybe danced to before. No, I am not big on dancing. I never dance so therefore I am not very fond of it and when I do dance I don’t enjoy it very much. My favorite song is “Holiday” by Boys Like Girls, “I Can Wait Forever” by Simple Plan, or “Save Us” by Cartel. I can’t think of a good dancer that I know.

I think the videographers purpose in making this video is to show how long dancing has been around and also how old songs are coming back in style! Dancing has come a very long way. It is tying in songs and dance moves from way back in the day and it is also showing some from now. My favorite songs from this video are can’t touch this, Kong fu fighting, jump on it, thriller, and ice ice baby. Personally, a lot of the dances made me laugh. It kind of reminds me of how my friends and I dace when we are together. I really like the dance that he did from the YMCA and from Thriller. I think that those are the best dances. My mom watched it with me and she doesn’t believe that she danced like that but I bet she did. I do like to dance, but I usually don’t dance often. My favorite song would have to be “There’s nothing” by Sean Kingston. If I had to choose a dancer that I know the best it would have to be my mom. She can bust a move on the dance floor!

The videographer named the video the evolution of dance because it shows popular dances through time. I don’t have a favorite song from the video because they were all entertaining. I laughed pretty much all the way through the video. His dancing skills were crazy plus he did it all with a smile on his face. My mom did dances like te the bump, and other things like roller disco, etc. I really don’t like to dance but I do joke around with my friends with things like dancing and such. Honestly I do not know any wonderful dancer but Sam would have to be the best I know which is sort of sad.

I think the videographer reason for naming this video the Evolution of dance was to show us how dance has changed over the years. I did not have a favorite song in that video, but a thought some of them were very funny. The dances that made me laugh were the Oompha song from Willy Wonka and Ride the Pony from Billy Idol. My grandmother said she loved Elvis Presley and danced to all of his song. Her favorite dance was the Twist by Chubby Checker. I like to dance and the best dancer that I know is my dad.

I think the videographer named this the "Evolution of Dance" because "evolution" means development and it is showing the development of dancing. My favorite song featured in the video was Thriller. All of the songs and dances made me laugh, not because of the moves but because of how they were portrayed. My has told me that when she was a teenager the "Bump" was a popular dance. Also, Disco dancing was popular. I love to dance, it's like 50% of my life. I don't have a particular favorite song or dance. I don't know many people who can dance really well except my friend, Brie Graziani.

I think this video is called the evolution dance because it starts off with older music and goes to the newer music throughout it. I liked and knew most of the songs on the movie. Most of the songs made me laugh, like the Cotton Eye Joe and the Mr. Roboto. My dad never danced but my mom did the electric slide, YMCA, and the boot scoot and boogie whatever that is? I love to dance and sing, but not in front of people. I like to dance or sing to anything, so I really don't have a favorite. There probably is a person that I know is a good dancer, but I can't think of one right now. A funny dancer I know is Laura though!!

I believe that the videographer named this piece "The Evolution of Dance", because it starts out with very old, posibley fifties and progresses as the man dances to newer music. I enjoyed the songs "Shook Me All Night Long", I like Big Butts", and "Can't touch this." All of the dances in this video made me laugh. Disco and the hustle were popular with my mom when she was a teen. The disco is a long loved favorite and is very simple. The hustle is was a very weird dance of its time. No, I don't like to dance! My favorite song would have to be "Simple Man" by Lynard Skynard. Tre Waites is a histerical dancer and is very good!

This piece is called The Evolution of Dance because it showed how much dancing has changed over a long amount of time. I didn't actually have a favorite song. All of them were funny, especially Thriller. Almost every one of the dances and songs made me laugh.

My parents didn't really like to dance when they were teens. Some of the old dances that I've seen seem crazy, but if they would have saw the dances from this age when they were teens, they'd say ours are crazy. I hate dancing.

I don't really have a favorite song. I think almost any song is good though. I don't know of any good dancers, because I've never seen a lot of people dance.
