Dream Mural Project

Identify a wall in this school where a mural could be placed. What inspirational figure could be drawn on that space? What words would accompany that drawing? What kinds of colors could be used? Who should be included in the mural project at this school?

I think we could put a mural on the wall of the front entrance of WFMS where they usually put the students'artwork. I think a collage of inspirational figures would be a good idea. Some of them that could be included are John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Lance Armstrong, Oprah Winfrey, Jim Henson, and John Lennon. Inspirational people that affect our lives come from all different kinds of backgrounds. Some are leaders, some are athletes, and others are everyday people that have contributed much of themselves to inspire others. I think that it is important to remember these people and what they have given us. I think that the words to accompany the mural would be, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." by Mahatma Ghandi. I think this quote would fit the mural because all of these people have changed things in the world and would inspire others to do the same. The colors used would be the colors that accurately depict the people on the mural. I think that any students that truly wanted to participate should be allowed to help.

A good wall to put a mural would be the wall where the people in the parking lot can see it while dropping off their kids. I think that it would be a good idea to put a big WEST SIDE drawing and make it look really cool. The colors blue and white would go with it and below it put WFMS. I think all the art teachers the authority and the students that aren’t allowed t go to the reward day at the end of the year.

i think we can put the mural on the wall of the front door. I think draw a polar bear on would be a good idea. we can write WFMS, Philosophy of life or some able to promote the learning of the sentence below there. I think we could in the every year before the final-year students in the graduation ceremony held at the event. As a result, every year on the mural are not the same ,and with the different meanings.

I think that we could put a mural on the wall in our school gym. I think it would make the kids more grateful that they have a nice school. Instead of having an old dirty one. If we put a mural on the gym wall, I think it should be of Mr. Delorenzo. He is the principle of our perfect new school. He changed a lot of stuff for us kids. The first day in the new school, I was so excited, because it was brand new. I was one of the first people at the new school.

I believe that a portion of the far corner of the gymnasium should be the area set aside for a mural. The reason that I think this is a good place is because, everyone is in the gym at least once a day. Also, when we have events people from other schools can see it.

I think that John Wooden, the long time basketball coach of UCLA basketball team should have a moral dedicated to him. He is retired now, but still is a big part of sports and competition. John Wooden led UCLA in 9 out of 11National Championships. He was an amazing coach. He believed in teamwork and aggressiveness at the same time.

The quote that I like is:

“Be quick, but don’t hurry.” - By that I meant make a decision, take action; decide what you are going to do and do it. Keep this word of caution in mind: Failure it act is often the biggest failure of all.”

JOHN WOODEN – UCLA – (retired basketball coach)

I think that I would use blue because it is one of our school colors. I would also put a picture of John Wooden holding a trophy. This would inspire others to be winners. I think that students that are artistic should draw the mural. The most important part is that every single student should be able to paint a small portion on the wall. This would help build team spirit and cooperation within the school. I think it would also let people know the examples of responsibility. I think that John Wooden is one of the greatest inspirations in sports as well as life!

I believe that we could put a mural would be the wall on the other side of the gym between the distance learning lab and the base room. A good inspirational figure that could be placed on the mural would be Lance Armstrong. He has showed so many ways of strength and dedication and the love for what he does and he also had cancer. He over came his can and came back to win the Tour de France. He went through all this therapy just so he could be able to be a cyclist again. A quote by Lance Armstrong could be put with this mural, I heard this one day and never forgot it. “Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.” The colors that could be used would be yellow, black, red, white, and blue. Black and yellow because those are his favorite colors and red, white, and blue because that’s the color of the United States and our school. I think our best drawers should be the ones to make this mural with the help of Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Canady.

I think that the mural in the video could go on the wall in the gym in my school.A inspirational figuer that could be drawn on that space is some photos of black people who made some differences in the world to whites and blacks. I think that some words that could accompany the drawing are words about people not being Racist. I don't think it would matter what colors would be used in the mural. I don't think anything else needs to be included in the mural project at that school.

I think we could put a mural on the wall across from the trophy case. I think we could put the twin towers up in rememberance of them. Also pictures of Martin L. King. We could use dark colors to like the color of the sky at night time and put stars all around the buildings. Then, if we also put Martin L. King in it then we could use many different colors, like in this video. I think the words in rememberance of.. would be very good to put on the mural because then it would mean that everything that has happened in the past would be remembered.

i think we should put a mural in front of the school because it can help people around us and people in the neighbor hood. WFMS can become a better school with the mural because the students can learn more about school and the thing around us people.

I think that if we would put one anywhere it should be in on the wall of the cafeteria. I think that we would put Lance Armstrong, Michael Phelps, and Robert C. Byrd. All theses people have overcame something in their life. But they all worked hard to overcome all those things. I think yellow, green, and white. Because those colors have something in common with the people in the picture. I think kids from Marion County should work on it. After we are done we send a video to the people that we did it for.

orolaI think the wall along the lunchroom would be a perfect place for a big mural. I think that we should place martin luther king on that mural. His lifespan, his life, how he died, how he helped free the black people from slavery, and made all black rights. I think we should use black and yellow, his favorite color (yellow). His friends, family, and supporters of his decision.

The cafeteria would be a good place to put the mural because every student enters the cafeteria at least once every day and they could always see the mural. I think a mural should be placed on the wall behind the bleachers in the gymnasium. I think this is a good place because it will be a daily reminder to the students that great accomplishments can come from hard work and perserverance. Also, visitors coming from other schools can see it when we are touring or giving county-wide presentations.

I think Michael Jordan should be placed on the mural. He signifies hard work. He never gave up on his dream of playing basketball even after he didn't make his high school basketball team. Also, he accomplished more things playing the game of basketball than most people do in a lifetime. And doing that is harder than you think.

I think the quote should be, "Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen" by Michael Jordan. Underneath the quote, in smaller letters it should say: WFMS, Making things happen since 2007.

The color of the text should be royal blue and Michael Jordan should be in his Chicago Bulls uniform. In the corner, I think it should have a red, white, and blue paw print to show that we are the polar cubs and those are our school colors.

I think everyone that attends the school or works at WFMS should be able to participate in the creation of the mural.

I think we could put a mural on the blank wall in the cafeteria so everyone could see it. I think John F. Kennedy or Martin Luther King Jr., or Michael Phelps should be on the wall. For John or Martin, I think a quote would fit them best, for example, a quote from their speeches an an inspirational message for Michael like "Nothings Impossible" or "Go For The Gold", or "Follow Your Dreams".
I would say abstract colors like blue, yellow, red, and green for them and shapes in the background like colored waves. I would say everyone should be included, but they don't have to if they didn't want to.

I think the wall in-between the entrance of the 5th grade wing and the doors to the bus pick up is a good place to put a mural. I personally think right there should be an image of a political figure. An image of Barack Obama and John McCain should be on it. Barack’s picture should be on the left and John’s picture should be on the right. In the middle should have the words does it really matter who is the president… It should be a grayscale.

I think a good place to put a mural is in the gym it has a lot of space to put something big like that. Someone I think should be are people are like Harriet Tudjman, Oprah Winfrey, and Martin Luther King. The words I would put are world changers because with the actions they have done they've helped change the world for the generations to come and made it better. The colors on the mural would be positive ones like yellow, light blue, light green, purple and red. With the mural from are school I think Mrs. Constable should be included in it because she is an amazing teacher and without her we 8th graders would not be ready to go to high school with out her she is like a fountain of null age just pouring in to are minds.

I think the best wall to put a mural on would be the wall that they put the V.I.P names on. Some inspirational figures could be Oprah, Martin Luther King, and maybe even Barack Obama, now that he is the first african american to become the president of the United States. Some words would be maybe some famous quotes what was said by the inspirational figure what would be chosen. I think bright colors would be good to use. I think this because bright colors always brighten things up and when things are brightened up, to me, they seem more enjoyable. I think everyone should be included because it would be a big impact on the school

I think that there should be a mural on the long wall in the lunch room. The mural should deliver the message of “If you believe you can achieve.” The mural should display a picture of Albert Poljus, first baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals, because he came to the US and didn’t know any English. He had to believe that he could learn the language and he is now fluent in the English language. I think the words believe and achieve should be displayed to simply tell student that they can do it. All kinds of colors should be displayed in the background with the image of Albert Poljus. The variety of colors will illustrate that anyone can achieve great things. This mural will have a good audience because in will be located in the main part of WFMS lunch room and will reach all WFMS students.

I really don’t know of an inspirational figure I would recommend to place on the wall. It would be need to be something or someone that all persons could relate to. Words of encouragement would need to be on the mural. Everyone needs encouragement young people as well as older people. Bright blue and red. They are eye catching colors that would draw your attention, plus they are our school colors.

We should put a mural in our gym. It would be nice to hang it up on an empty portion that is just white. We should make it a polar bear to represent our mascot. It could also be an eagle to show how "high" class we are. haha...or not. We could make the bear white with a blue background. We could also add some red to make it more patriotic. An inspirational phrase could be many things such as Welcome To West Fairmont Middle School. Even a small little phrase like this can brighten up someone's day. We should include our school principal, Mr. Delorenzo in this mural.

It could include faces of all of the notable presidents in the world. Along with the mural, you can put famous quotes from some of the presidents. I would pick to have gray, black, and white for the colors to try and make it look like it's old. All of the teachers and the students that didn't get many points should be able to help make it.

I think that the wall along the main hallway of the school would be an excellent place to put a mural up. The main hallway is an excellent place because at some point in time the students of west Fairmont middle school walk in this hallway everyday! It’s an excellent way to show off the mural. I think that the mural should be an inspirational aspect, or person. I personally think that the mural should be a polar bear cub, or even the students at west Fairmont middle school. I think that Martin Luther King Jr. would be an inspirational person and the idea of a polar bear cub but I think the students of west Fairmont middle school should vote for what they would like to see in the hallway that they walk everyday. If it were me to decide I think that I would pick the polar bear cub to show how proud we are to be one.
The inspirational words that would go along with the mural would be (in my opinion) the saying C.U.B.S! Everyone already knows what that stands for, so I wolln’t write it down. The colors that need to be used in this mural would have to be BRIGHT colors so that way everyone would be able to see!! The people that I think need to be included in this mural would have to be the students, teachers, and volunteers that helped.

I think that the best place for a mural in our school would be in the main hallway. That is where the students enter and leave each day, and they would see that mural each and every day.

I believe that the students should vote on who to put in the mural, because it's supposed to be an inspiration to them, and in order to do that, it has to be someone that is important to them.

Whomever the students choose to put on the mural, we should get an inspirational quote to go with the portrait.

We should use all kinds of different colors, to show that, yes, we ARE the polar bear cubs, but we all live on this one Earth.

Everyone should be able to contribute a little to this mural. We could ask each student to draw on the mural what is most important in their life, and their drawing could be accompanied by a small picture of that student. Soon, the entire wall will be filled with paintings and pictures.

i think alot of people in our school could benefit from a mural in our school. The majority of the students and staff would benefit most from a mural placed across from the office,by the main entrance.A mural could also be painted somwhere in the gym, though I'm not exactly sure where it would go. A mural of past presidents like John F. Kennedy or actors who have gone through struggles in their lives. There are many empty walls in WFMS so there should be more than one mural. There could be a seperate mural for Olympians and a seperate one for importan figures in West Virginia. It would be great to have quotes from the leaders on the murals. There should be a mural with MLK on it and quotes fom him like ,"I have a dream". The murals should be inspirational and be accompanied by bright colors that are create an uplifting feeling. Maybe there should be certain murals that only students should be allowed to work on and teachers could make a mural of their own.The students here at WFMS are very creative and I think some teachers have some creativity in them, too.

I really liked this video. It was interesting to me. I think the wall that should a mural on it at our school is the wall in the cafeteria where the doors to the gym are. All students spend a lot of time in the cafeteria for various reasons, and that wall is always bare. It needs some color or something to brighten up the school.I think a big peace sign would be a great inspirational figure. It could show the students that peace should be showed in action everywhere and even at school. I think the words that should accompany the mural are P-patience, E-except, A-apartide C-continue life,E- effort. The colors that would be used are green, blue, and purple.Green is a sothing color and is the new color of love. All three of the colors are cool which makes them relaxing, Relaxation prevents fights and chaos. I think our school mascot should be included in the mural because surprisingly kids my age look up to the mascot i think. The mural would be a great project for our school. I hope to see it in progress one day.

I think we should put a mural beside the art room hallway. People that take art class in our school can draw pictures of people that we study in art like Andy Warhol or Camile Pissaro. Every time we learn about a new person, we could draw it on the wall. We could put all of our names around the picture that signifies that we drew it ourselves. We could use a clash of colors. Purple, blue, and pink would be really pretty on the mural. As I said before, I think that all of the art students at our school should participate in the mural.

I think the wall by the entrance to the gym in the cafeteria would be a great place. Most everyone passes through the cafeteria and a lot of people would see it. We could draw any inspirational figure or figurine. We could draw Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr, Mr. DeLorenzo, John F. Kennedy, Theodore Roosevelt, and many others. We could use speeches they have spoken or songs people have written to honor them. I think we should use colors like the colors used in the video, contrasting and matching colors. That would make it look really awesome. I think everyone should get the opportunity to participate in the project. Not just the art classes or kids who can draw good, if everyone can participate, it would look even better. And it would have a lot more meaning. If every kid participated in a picture of Mr. DeLorenzo, then it would have more meaning than if just the eight grade and his daughter.

I think that they could put it in the gym. So everyone can see it,because they have to go in there weither it is in the morning or in gym class. Martin luther king, rosea parks, god, omaba, and manhy more. He was a black man the fought for white and black to be together. black, gold, white, green, red, purple, pink, yellow, and blue. I think anyone that would help the school out would be able to have their face up on a wall.

A mural could be placed in the hall that leads into the lunch room from the DL Lab and Computer lab. I think that there should be more than one person and they should be the founding fathers of our perfect country, and should be displayed as George Washington looking of to his left(our right)be looking at Benjamin Franklin then Tomas Jefferson, next to him is John Hancock then in much smaller size, the other 53 people that signed if there is a picture of them. Then there should be words that look like the are on a piece of parchment paper and it should say " Ita a Populus eram prognatus" which roughly means
"And so a Nation was born" . To decorate the background should be the American Flag. I think due to the envisioning of the mural, the creator should be involved and a team of professional artists should be hired to do the face work, but the creator may pick 5-10 students to make the American Flag.

I think that a wall that you could paint a mural is in the main hall way where art work is normally hung. The mural should be of MLK and the words to go with him should be, "he had a dream, do you? Anything is possible." I think the colors should be as realistic as possible and the words should be black,so it looks more formal. And only the most artistic people should be included so it looks very amazing.

think we could put a mural on the wall of the front entrance of WFMS where they usually put the students'artwork.

I think a good wall for this mural project would be the big loop that goes around the library, that big white wall could use some color. i think something that promotes following your dreams and never looking back would be good. I think, dreams, imagination, confidence, and dedication would be wonderful words. The colors of the rainbow would make this look amazing. All the art teachers and about 5 or 10 of the most artistic people in the school.

I think it could be placed where the clock is in the cafeteria. Then everyone would see it when they look at the clock. I think Einstein could be placed on it. I think this because hes a genious, and we are at school. Maybe achieve, or dream big, or think smart something like that could be placed under him. Bright colors, reds, blues, yellows, greens, hot pink, those colors. All the achievers should be included. The ones who complete there work and help others!
