We didn't start the fire.

What is the purpose of this song? What is the fire in the song a metaphor for? Select a person portrayed in the video that you would want to know more about and write 2 facts about that person. What is your favorite song? Why?

I think the purpose of this song was to say that the problems of that genaration of americans was not there fault ,but that the previous genaration and how they delt with there crisis World War Two which was caused by there parents in World War One.

The two events in the video that I chose to blog about are the Chinese red Revoulation ,And the Russians in Afganistan.

The Chinese Red revoulation was the result of the growth in both stringth of the chinese communest party during and before World War Two. The revoulation has had serous inplications in China and in its nighbours most notibly the nation of North Koreia which wouldent exist if it were not for the Chinese intervention during The Korean War.

The Russian Invasion Of Afganistan fron 1979-1989 was the soviet goverments attempt to have a larger presence in the middle east since there ally Egypt had come into closer contact with the western world. The Invasion was a diasister for both sides and vary bsimiler to the vietnam war in allmost all regards.

The purpose of this song is to tell you about important stuff that happened in the past. The fire in the song is a metaphor for war. The thing that I picked was the mafia. The mafia is a sicilian criminal society which is believed to have emerged in the late 19th century. The mafia is known as the gangsters of the town. They also wear suits and carry guns. My favorite song is haze by korn because it is a good song.

The purpose of this song is to tell you about important history the happened awhile ago. The fire in the song is a metaphor for change. Sugar Ray was the fighter of the decade in the 1980s.He is widely considered to be one of the best boxers of all time, winning world titles at multiple weights and engaging in contests with such celebrated opponents as Wilfred Benitez. He was named after the singing legend Ray Charles. He is a believable bosxer. I think that the purpose of this song is to tell us that we cant control everything, but the things tat we can control we should try and make better. one of the things I chose to blog about is punk rock.
I chose to blog about this because there is a lot more than meets the eye when it comes to this, there are many different types of punk and punkrock. Punk is a style/ lifestyle while punkrock is a musical genre. there are many differnt ttpes of punk such as oi!, crust, street, pogo, pop, hardcore, and anarcho. Punkrock influenced nearly an entire generation of people.
The other topic I chose is British Beatle-mania. The beatles were one of the most influential bands of their time and even of today. They werent just of one genre they had a few different types, and many people could relate to their music, so a lot of poeple liked them.
My favortie song is Blackbird by the Beatles, because it is a a nice song but it also is trying to tell you not to let you flaws hold you back and to go for it.

The purpose of the song is to inform people on what has happened during that time and to inform us on the things that happened in the past. The fire is a metaphor for stuff that had happened at that time. Albert Einstein was jewish and he won these awards:
Nobel Prize in Physics (1921)
Copley Medal (1925)
Max Planck Medal (1929).
My favorite songs are by rammstien and I like them because they are metal, rock and/or techno.

The purpose of this song would just be for entertanment it tells you improtant world history events. This song does NOT inform you on anything more than just stating these events.I think the fire would mean the time changing, or how we didnt start time and we cant end it. It just means the time is changing. The person i choose was sally ride. Sally Ride was the first american women in space she was also the first woman in space to use the robot arm. My favorite song is toes in the water by the zac brown band, i like it because it makes me laugh when i watch the video and it makes me feel good.

In this video it told names of some of the most famouse people and events in the last 60 years. The phrase we didn't start the fire stands that some of those people didn't start war or sickness or and terror. Some acted about war and sicknesS. We didn't start the fire mean we didn't start it.

It named a boxer by the name Rocky Maciano. He was a boxer during the 50's. He started his career in the army. Befor he knew it he was in the round with proffecianla heveyweights. During his career he changed the spelling of his last name so people could pronounce it. His real name is Rocco Francis Marchegiono which was changed to Maciano. He is the only heavyweight fighter to retier undefeated 49-0

It also said Marlan Brando who was a 50's actor.None for his good looks and parts in " A Street Car Named Desire" and "On the Waterfront".By far his greatest role was as Don Vito Corleone in "The GodFather. Also he was a civil rights leader.
My Favorite song is Here Comes the Sun by the beatles. It is a smooth song and has a good message

The purpose of this song is to say that none of us individually started anything such as racism or wars, it has just always been here. we akk have tried to stop some of these but not sucsessfully done all of them. I think fire is a metaphor for wars, prejudice and everyhting not quite right in the world. I chose U2, the spyplane. On May 1st in 1960 U2, also know as teh Black Lady, was shot down over the USSR. Before the U2 flight no American plane had ever been shot down duting the Cold War. I don't really have a favorite song but if I had to pick one it would be "I Gotta Feeling" by The Black Eyed Peas. I like it because i has a good beat.

I think the purpose of the song "we didn't start the fire' means that we had no control of what the people before us did to the world, but we can try and change it to make it better. I love Marilyn Monroe. She spent most of her childhood in foster homes, and then began a modeling career, which led to a film contract in 1946. Marilyn Monroe's career as an actress spanned 16 years. She made 29 films, 24 in the first 8 years of her career. I don't have a favorite song. I like to many to choose from.

The purpose of this song is to trace history by using pictures of pop icons. The fire in the song is a metaphor for change. Marilyn Monroe was a famous movie star of the 1960's. One of Marlyn Monroe's favorite quotes are "No one ever told me I was pretty when I was a little girl. All little girls should be told they are pretty, even if they aren't." And i love that quote, i think that if you are not pretty you should still be told it because it makes you feel good on the inside. It doesnt matter what you look like on the outside. My two favorite songs that she sang are Diamonds are a girls bestfriend and I wanna be loved by you. I love the lyrics and the rhythem. Just the way she sings them warms you're heart.

I think the original purpose was to summarize many events that happened over a span of time. The fire represents that it is not our generations fault things are a certain way, but we can change it. When Doris Day was a child she loved to dance and aspired to be a professional ballerina. After her leg was crushed in a terrible car crash, she became a phenomenal singer. I do not have a favorite song because as my mood changes, so does my taste in music.

The purpose of this song is to tell the viewers/listners that our past and history is what makes us today. If it wasn't for our past, we wouldn't have our rights, technology, or the privligages we have today. I think fire is a metaphor for the present. I choose Liberace to learn two new facts about. Liberace was a famous pianist from West Allis,WI. Liberace opened his own museum on April 15th, 1979. Honestly I don't have a favorite song I usually get hooked on one song and play it over and over again until I get tired of it.

The purpose of this song was to tell you that there were people who invented and achieved things before us. We may have done them in a different way, but if you look at the big picture, they technically beat us to it. The "fire" in the song is a metaphor for change or difference. People invented many things that we use today and everyone did something different. Albert Einstein came up with the theory of relativity. He was a Jewish scientist that is now one of the most renown scientists in history. My favorite song is either I'm already there by Lone Star or The Way You Make Me Feel by Michael Jackson. They both put me in a surprisingli good mood and usually I start dancing when the Michael Jackson song is on. But the other one is slower and it sounds sad, but it's really not.

The purpose of this song is to let people know that many people assisted with the formation of today’s pop culture. The fire in this song is a metaphor for pop culture. The point is that these celebrities didn’t choose who became popular, we did. I chose to write about hula hoops. Hula hoops were first made by an Australian company. Richard P. Knerr and Arthur K. Melin, from Wham-O, reinvented it in 1957 and it became an immediate sensation. I don’t have one favorite song but my top two would probably be “Shake My” by Three 6 Mafia and “Dear Maria, Count Me In” by All Time Low. I like ‘Shake My” because it has a great beat and is fun to dance to. I like “Dear Maria, Count Me In” because it has great lyrics and takes me into Hollister every time I hear it.

The purpose of this song is to show some of the most popular people and firsts in this time period. Fire in this song is a metaphor for change in how new people came to be what they are today. Joe DiMaggio was born in California on November 25, 1914. The Yankees hadn't been to the World Series since about 1923, but thanks to Joe DiMaggio, the sensational rookie, the won the next four. In 1941 America kept their eyes and ears on him, after he had his amazing 56 game hitting streak. I have many favorite songs but my absolute favorite would probably have to be One Time by Justin Bieber because everytime I listen to it, it just makes me happy and even though it's not the best song to dance to I always fine a way. :)

I think that the purpose of this video is to show our history. It shows what makes us great, and it shows our faults.

The fire that the song is talking about is violence. Violence that could have been stopped but that someone wouldn't stop it. It means the prejudice that people have in their hearts, the ability to judge and lable people.

I choose to write about "The King and I". It is about a school teacher that goes to teach at a palace in Siam, and how she turns the palace around. It involves romance and suspense and how you can change if you want to.

My favorite song is "If today was your last day" by Nickleback because of the lyrics and how they stand out and make me want to be a better person so I'm ready to face that last day.

To show history through many years and how it has changed. I think "the fire" means that there has been crisis in the world since the world has been turning.

From groundbreaking to opening, Disneyland was built in just 365 days. Disneyland opened on July 17,1955. The opening day was a disaster asphalt poured just hours before guests arrived hadn’t fully dried, and women’s spike heels sank into Main Street. I think the purpose of this song was to simply tell you the names of smoe famous world figures. It is trying to make you curious about those figures so that you will want to learn about them. I think that the fire in this song is a metaphor for change and evolution. It's not something we can control, but it is something that we can admire and even be inspired by. I also think it is saying that change, while beautiful, can be dangerous, and that we should be wary of it. The person I would like to know more about is Josef Stalin. Hopefully you don't mind, but as Troy blogged about TWO different things, I would like to use more than just two facts. One of the most powerful and murderous dictators in history, Stalin was the supreme ruler of the Soviet Union for a quarter of a century. He had caused the death and pain of TENS of millions of people. Not only that, but Nazism's signature war machine was his idea. After World War Two, the Soviet Union entered the nuclear age and ruled over an empire which included most of eastern Europe. Increasingly paranoid, Stalin died of a stroke on 5 March 1953. Josef Stalin had a very harsh veiw on life. Here are a few of his most remembered quotes: "Death is the solution to all problems. No man = no problem.", "Gratitude is a sickness suffered by dogs.", "I trust no one, not even myself.", "The only real power comes out of a long rifle.", "A sincere diplomat is like dry water or wooden iron." As for my favorite song, I have a lot of favorite songs. All or Nothing, by Emcee Phonetix; Nobody's Listening, by Linkin Park; and Who Is It, by Michael Jackson are just a few of them. The purpose of this song is to make people realize that not everything can be stopped, as some of the things mentioned in the video are still problems today. The fire in the song could refer to any of the topics mentioned.

I chose to do two facts on Rosa Parks. She was not in the song, but she was portrayed in the beginning of the video as a little cartoon character. Rosa Parks became very well known as a civil rights activist when she refused to give up her seat on a bus for a white person. This act of defiance set off a chain of events that would eventually end legal segregation in America. Two facts about Rosa Parks are that she lived to be 92, and when she died, in 2005, her casket was placed in the rotunda of the United States Capitol. That is an honor usually reserved for presidents.

Some of my favorite songs are Tommy the Cat by Primus, The Rumble of the Diesel by Les Claypool, and It's Ice by Phish. I also like some songs that aren't exactly made yet... You had Jared Burns last year, and I'm in the FSHS band with him. He has this insane talent of just endlessly singing and making up rhymes, and if we wrote some down, we would have some pretty good music. There's something about a pig farmer and another that starts out "Sit on down and I'll tell ya a tale, 'bout a good old story of a great white whale."

The phrase "we didnt start the fire" is symbolisic of change. the purpose of this video was not to show how things started, but how things changed.
The person I would like to know more about is elvis, specificly his movie career. Everybody knows about his music, but I like his movies. He made 33 movies, and got 19 academy award nominations.

I believe that the purpose of this song was to say that not all Americans should be held responsible for adding to the flames of war. Not all of us may think that all Muslims are terrorists, or that Caucasians should be separated from African Americans. In this video it seems to me that fire is used to describe war, problems, or the falling of our peace.

Richard M. Nixon always impressed me. He was deceitful, a liar, demeaning; ect. The funny thing is, he thought it was doing this country good. But it's just those characteristics that inspire me, and make me want to learn more about his story. President Nixon was the first to resign in 1974; another fact is that he did in fact order an invasion on Cambodia which led to protests in the U.S.A.

My Favorite song(s) would have to be:
*Lithium by Nirvana
*Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by the Beatles
*And Justice for All by Metallica
*Mama, I'm Coming Home by Ozzy Osbourne
* And Black hole Sun by Soundgarden

All of these songs inspire me because they were (are) all great bands. The Beatles should appeal to everyone, their music was universal. Metallica was a good band in the Cliff Burton Era, once Cliff died it seems like the whole band went downhill. Nirvana, Ozzy, and Soundgarden were of course great bands and individuals. It’s amazing how a group of people could make music this great, and have it relate to everybody in different ways.

The purpose of this song is to inform people about history and that when we were born into the earth events were already in action. The fire in the song is a metaphor for events that have happened in time.

Brigitte Bardot started dancing at the age of five and at thirteen danced at The Conservatoire Nationale de Danse. At age fifteen started getting involed with photographed. She is now an actress.

My favorite song is One Time by Justin Bieber! I have loved his songs for two years and now he is just becoming famous. I think he has the best voice, wonderful lyrics and is cute too!

I think the song "We didn't start the fire" is about what people have done wrong and the problems are coming down on the present people. The word fire is a metaphor for things that are becoming a problem. what I want to know about Eisenhower is what he did as a president to help the society. His full name was Dwite D Eisenhower. He was the 34th president of the U.S. My favorite song is A Testamony. The reason is the beat of the music and the testamonies of the singers.

The purpose of this song is to tell all the special things that have happened over 60 years. And that the world has always been crazy. Einstein was was born at Ulm, in Württemberg, Germany, on March 14, 1879. In 1905 he obtained his doctor's degree. And my favorite song is Mr.Blue Sky it is an older song but i really like the beat and feeling of it.

I believe this song is used to inform everyone of the conflict in the world. I think they made this song because people would listen to whats going on more if it was tied to something they like.(music)

H-Bomb is short for hydrogen bomb. The first thermonuclear bomb was exploded in 1952 at Enewetak by the United States. Great Britain, France, and China have also exploded thermonuclear bombs, and these five nations comprise the so-called nuclear club. I don't really have a favorite song because there are sooo many of them and there are new ones coming out all the time. If i had to pick one right now it would be "2 weeks in hawaii". I really like the wordsand meaning of the song, and it helps me go to sleep.

The metaphor for the video "We Didn't Start the Fire" is changing in the world. For example, "fire" is all of the issues we have today. Richard Nixon was our 37th president and 36th vice president before that. He also was the only president to resign from office. My favorite song is "you belong with me" by Taylor Swift because it is happy and it is one of the cases that could happen now in the world.

Ever since the beginning of time, there have been problems in the world. Some generations have seen more problems than others. Also every generation has had its peace makers.
The fire in the song refers to the conflicts that have been a part of history.
John F. Kennedy: served in the military during WWII , second youngest president.
My favorite song is Love Story by Taylor Swift. It's a very good song and it explains a lot about love. ( :

the purpose of this song is to show all the differant events that happened over the past year.

the metaphor 'we didnt start the fire' means its not are fault that all the bad things have happenedin the world , but its also saying we can change those bad things to good things.

martin luther king junior made a vey good speech with the popular saying "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself!" Martin luther king junior was assasinated in 1969 ,whichwas 40 years ago.

my favorite song is you belong with me by Taylor Swift. because it is basicly explaining that it doesnt matter about what you are on the outside , it matters about your personalitly and what you are on the inside !(:

The purpose of this song is to tell you about important things that happened in the past. Also to tell you about important people in the past. The fire is a metaphor for war. The person I would like to know more about is Elvis Presley. He is the king of rock. Also you are still able to see him in his coffin. My favorite song is probaly The down fall of us all by A Day To Remenble. I like this song because it talks about someone leaveing who thinks people don't like him. So it makes the world end. So the teaches don't leave because everyone is neeeded.

In this story the revoulation has had serous inplications in China and in its nighbours most notibly the nation of North Koreia which wouldent exist if it were not for the Chinese intervention during The Korean War.one of the things I chose to blog about is punk rock.
I chose to blog about this because there is a lot more than meets the eye when it comes to this, there are many different types of punk and punkrock. Punk is a style lifestyle while punkrock is a musical genre.

The world is spinning and changing so fast that you can't stop it since the world began. The earth spins continuously every day for twenty-four hours until it the next day. Then it just keeps going on to the next day. Everyday something is happening. The fire represents the changes and conflicts that are happening all around the world.
I chose Albert Einstein because he was the smartest scientist ever known to man who knew everything about theoretical physics. Albert Einstein won the Nobel Prize in physics in 1921.

My favorite song is Pokerface by Lady Gaga because I like rap songs and it always makes me happy when I hear that song. I also like the Black Eye Peas songs’, mostly of the time.
