Famous Failures

A time that I was successful would be when my friends and I stepped in front of the whole school. There was only four of us and it was scary at first but then I got over it. We practiced once the day before and it was a long practice. Even though we only practiced once we still did vey good. I believe that we were successful because we didn't mess up or goof around.

A time I was successful was deciding to try baksetball. When I was in 2nd grade I was tired of play soccer and wanted to try something new so I tried basketball. I wasn't very good I was the only girl on the team and the boys never passed me the ball. They told me I couldn't play bc I wasn't fast enough I was to fat. I didn't stop playing, I went to camps and my dad and his friend helped me get better. I kept play basketball and once I got got into 5th grade we started to run more at practice so I wasn't as slow and was in shape. In the 7th grade made varisty, that was such en exciting thing, but I never played any. Now I'm still playing and one of the best players on the team and hope to play on high school and college. I was successful because I stuck with the sport and got in shape, and now I'm better then all those boys.

One time I was successful was when I had my first presentation. I was so nervous because everyone would be making eye contact with me and it would be quite and everyone's attention on me. I practiced my words and I though I'd might skip over my words or say something that was off track and make a complete fool of myself. But it actually turned out better than expected.

One time I was most successful is when I learned how to ride a bike. One day I was really bored so I thought I'd give my bike a try.So I got on it and fell, then fell again. So I tried it on more time, and then I started to ride and ride and ride.I also helped my little brother to ride his bike.It worked,so the me and my brother helped my little sister how to ride a bike. That also worked,I felt like a superhero, and like a really important person.I learned that if you don't try you fail, but even if you fail at least you still tried.

One time I failed was when I got injured in basketball. It was after about 3 previous injuries also, which can be discouraging and frustrating. I have been injured a good bit the last couple years and I will admit it is one of my weaknesses. I was going to the basket and I stepped on a kids foot, my bad ankle that I fractured and sprained 3 times. I sprained it.This was about 4 weeks after I healed from my knee injury in football. All the doctors and trainers thought I tore my ACL but I kept praying and praying and I believe that GOD healed it .It turned out to just be a deep bone bruise, ruptured bursa sack, and anterior knee damage that heals over time. When I did get hurt at that scrimmage with my ankle it hurt but it wasn't really that, it was what I was thinking. I was thinking that I just was hurt, now again. I was so frustrated and mad. No one really knows what it is like. When you like to play sports and are injured and can't play it is terrible. It can bring you down a lot. I guess that getting injured is kind of a fail but everyone will fail, some are worse than other, people fail in all different ways. But when something happens like an injury or fail it can be really tough and discouraging but you have to get back up and keep fighting and think that after I'm done with this rough time I will come back better than before. "Failure is not falling down but refusing to get back up". Chinese Proverb. I think failure is a part of success.

One time I failed when I went deer hunting my very first year. I was devastated when I did not get a deer. The next year I valued I would get a deer. Sure enough right at the edge of darkness, just before the day close out for the season I final got me a deer. When I did I was smiling from ear to ear. The time between the season I would beg my dad to take me out shooting so I could get better, sure enough I was getting better. I was able to hit a pop can 100 yards away in no time. That is the time I had failed but I never gave up.

When I first started playing soccer i wasn't very good. Then after about three seasons I started to get better and better. When I was in U-10 league I barely scored any goals. But when I started U-12 I started to score a lot more goals and got a lot wins than the previous seasons. Then two years after I started U-14 and averaged 1 to 2 goals and assists per game.

In December 2005, our family went to Atlanta GA for the Sugar Bowl game. Across from our hotel was "Olympic Park" and they had an outdoor ice skating rink set up. I begged my parents to go skating and assured them that I could do it and that it was easy. Once I got my skates on and went out on the simulated ice, I found out that what looked easy sure wasn't! I kept falling and my father had to hold me up for me to go around the rink twice before we left. Then in 2011, they had an open house at the Morgantown Ice Rink as an introduction to possibly playing hockey. With the memory of Atlanta in the back of my mind, I was hesitant to try skating again, but I was determined that this time I would not fail. I put on my skates, and while I was unsteady at first, within 10 minutes I was skating around the rink. Even though I did not decide to play hockey, I was able to overcome my fear and past failure to show myself and my parents that I could do it.

One time when I was little my brother and friend snowboarded and I wanted to do it. So my mom took me to wisp to learn to snowboard and my brother and friend were all ready out doing it. When I got there they told me I couldn't get snowboarding lessons until I was 7 so I had to learn to ski. I wasn't very happy with that so I got mad but I just learned to ski. I was terrible at skiing and it made me more mad that I couldn't try snowboarding. But when I turned 7 i learned to snowboard and was really good. Now I go a lot and I'm pretty good at it.

One time I was with my sister, my friend, and her brother. It was a snow day and we went sled riding. We got the bright idea to put all of us on one sled and go down a big hill. The sled started cracking half way down the hill by the time we got to the bottom there was nothing left of the sled.

One time our baseball team was in a tourniment. We had won all of our games before this game. And we were in the championship aginst this team. This team had been undefeated also. So we were down by 1 in the last inning , and I was up with someone on third. The pitcher threw me 2 balls, and then a strike. So the count was 1-2, and I was determined to get on base. So he gave me another fastball. And I hit it hard to right field. So I drove in the run,and the game went into extra innings. Where we would later win the game. This was one time where I was successful.

One time I was at my baseball game and it was the 6th inning. We were playing a team from Shinston and we were losing by one. There was a man on third and second. I was up to bat. I had only bated once and hit a home run. So the outfield was playing back. On the first pitch I hit a weak blooper into the outfield. It dropped right in the middle of the outfield. Both of the runners scored and we won the game.

During the summer of 2011, two friends of mine were over at my house while their parents went to find a home in California. They, my brother, and I decided to take a wagon and roll down the hill in it, like sledding without the snow. Well, on my first attempt, I was gaining speed, but much too quickly. I proceeded to flip multiple times and sprained my ankle. It was very unfortunate seeing as how I had to walk up the entire hill afterward.

Last year on my birthday i got a full. i didn't really know what i was doing, but it worked somehow. i had it for about 2 weeks, then i lost it. I sprained my ankle like 4 times, face planted very time i did it, and got 7 concussions. somehow i continued to keep trying and kept failing. it wasn't till last night i really landed it. I became successful. It only took me 11 months! Finally I have proved to myself that I can do it. I waited long enough!

The last time I was successful was Monday January 25, 2016. My two cousins and I were sledding down a hill, and we were racing. They had cheated by starting first. I had to hurry up to jump on my sled down the hill. They were so far ahead that I had to use my hands to gain more speed. It had worked and I was neck to neck with both of them. I had passed them both at the same time. They were stunned. They couldn’t believe that I had passed them. My cousins were so surprised that I had passed them that they both had stopped. That was the latest successful moment.

One time I was successful when my two brothers went outside in snow and I went with them. We all had a lot of fun and decided to try to make an igloo and see who could make the best igloo. One of my brothers had made an igloo and then if fell down, my other brother had built a long, narrow one that was strongly built, but it was not very wide. Meanwhile, I had built mine taller, wider and more roomy, then one of my brothers got in and started to dig a little more and, then it fell down on him. We help my brother out and he was fine.

One time that I failed was in gym class in 6th grade. I was running around picking up so we could move on to the next class. I tripped over a purple hula hoop and landed on my knee. It hurt but I didn't tell anyone. I was sure I would be fine in a couple hours. After the rest of the day I made it home. We were eating dinner and I told my dad that I fell. He checked it out. There was a gigantic goose egg on my knee. My dad called my uncle who is a doctor and asked for advice. He said to compress it and no more gym for 3 weeks. It was crazy. That was my failure.

One day in the summer I failed to find my little sister. We were in Virginia and walking around to get to know the place. It was my uncle, my cousin, my sister, and myself. So we were walking down the street and me and my uncle decided to run away ran lose them. When we ran off we went back to get them. They saw us and kept walking because they were mad at us because we ran from them. So me and my uncle was looking for them forever because they ran away from us. So me and my uncle was so mad at them and it was getting dark outside. So when me and my uncle went back to the house my cousin and sister were sitting on the couch watching TV. That was my failure looking for my sister and cousin.

I’ve had plenty of failures in my life, but I take them as experiences along the way. However, there was this one moment when I was little that I can’t seem to forget. To be honest, I was always a brat when I was small, and I wasn’t the brightest either. So, there was this one time when I was playing hide-and-seek with my cousins and siblings. Anyways, I was hiding in my closet, waiting to be found. However, no one came looking for me, and I think about an hour passed by. Then, my mom came in with my laundry and saw me. She told me that all the kids were downstairs eating already. I was so angry.

We have all had many accomplishments and failures in our not so long lifetime. This success was a big one for me... When I was only in the sixth grade at my old school. I had decided to enter the social studies fair. I entered into the 6-9th grade category. I then proudly presented my project on the F.B.I. K-9 unit. I had won 1st place for my school. I then went along to win 1st for my county. Next I had almost placed for states. It was fun traveling to d.c. With my freinds/family. This was my biggest success.

One time I wasn't successful was when I told my friend who my crush was and I came to school the next day. I walked into my home room class and I heard her say his nickname and I yell her name! Everyone looked at me when I ran out so I was just over reacting. She was talking about outside and she said it. I had to appoligize to her because I thought she told my secret! Then I realized I was so addicted to this boy I embarrassed myself and my good friend.

One time that I wasn't successful was when I was in a game and it looked like a ghost grabbed both of my feet and bulled me back. It was an inbound play and I caught the ball. There was no one around me and as I went to pass the ball, both my feet blew back, the ball went out of my hand, and I hit my elbows off the ground. Zoey and Beckah had the nerve to start laughing on the bench. Luckily I was okay and it was really funny. The funny part about it was that just before that I had gotten hammered and slammed to the floor by one of the girls on the other team. I am known fro being really clumsy.

When I was 11 years old, I was walking to my friends backyard where we played football. He asked me to go over there. I went outside and went to hop the fence. I fell trying to and landed on my arm. It didn't hurt that bad but it did.

A time where i was succesful was when i was in a wrestling match. i was losing 6-1, with 30 seconds left before the match was over. I came back and tied the score at 6, so the match went into over time. over time started, and the kid immediately took a shot on me, and i stopped him. we each "took turns" you could say, trying to throw eachother. i won that battle, and he was thrown to his back. He would later be pinned with 13 seconds left in overtime. this is my favorite memory out of any sports ive played.

I was successful when I started running. I joined the cross-country team, because my brother used to be the county champion when he ran. I didn't think much of it. I just decided to do it, and discovered one of my hidden talents. I didn't prepare whatsoever, but became #3 on my team in 7th grade. I had many problems come across my such as my Achilles heel, allergies, and my breathing. Some races I just couldn't breathe and I didn't know why. It wasn't because I was running, it was more than average. My throat would close, but I'd always find a way to pull through until the end of the race. We went to allergists and got some medication to hopefully help, but he said some people have the same problem, and they usually out grow it the more in shape they get. My 8th grade year I was no longer injured, and my breathing got better, so I placed 4th in the county. I was so happy, because his year was probably one of the toughest middle school years known. The runners were the toughest anyone had ever seen. My running has improved even more from then. My 5k is in 20:00s and I'm hoping to get under 20 soon, because I was like 50 seconds off my last race. High school is going to be tough, but I think I'm ready.

One time I was playing football at my elementary school and I ran into the swing and I flew over it after it flung me forward. I got back up and kept playing though . But after that I kicked the ball and it hit my teacher and I got in trouble I thought it was really bad when I was little but now I look back at it and just laugh.

Once when I failed, I was 9 and me and my family were at the beach and I had went to go and get Sand in my bucket to make a sand castle so I filled the bucket all the way to the top and then I dumped it and went to go get more sand and as soon as I did I heard a scream and my mom and dad rush to their feet and saw where I had put my sand and then the women who had been standing there (the women who screamed) she was laughing and picked up the sand crad that I had a mistakenly scooped up when I filled my bucket of sand. We all laughed and so the nice women gave my the sand crad and I mad him king of my castle that is a fail I will never forget.

One of my favorite memories when I was successful, was during this years football season. It was our last game and it was the second quarter, and there was like 15 seconds left on the game clock. My team was playing defense and we was doing a blitz play. The other team had the ball at our 1 yard line , and it was fourth down . I hit the kid who was running the ball as hard I can, I kept my balance and didn't fall the ball went flying in the air. I caught it and ran with it. I had one kid to beat for me to had a touchdown. I faked the kid out and he fell and I was running as hard as I can. I never once looked back to see if someone was near me. Till I scored it was my first defensive touchdown.

one time that i was sussesful was this year actually, my grade in world geography was very poor, and i relized i needed to step up because grades are very impotant. so i started doing homework and started actually working in class and doing the things that i needed to do to get my grades up. and i got my grades up from a D to an A, in no time. i was very thankful that i started to do what i was told to do and started putting credit into my work. because i became very sussesful.

A time I was successful was when I was around eight or nine and playing C-ball baseball. I always played short stop but I wasn't getting the ball hit to me a lot and then I noticed that first base gets the ball every play because you have to try to get the batter out. So I told my dad I wanted to play first base and so I practiced at first base a little in C-ball but then I grew a little and got taller what a first base man needs so he can stretch out and get the ball. About a year later in B-ball I was the starting first base man and ever since then I have stared at first base and played on many travel teams and all star teams as the first base man. I some times play third because I have the arm to get it over to first but I don't think I'm ever going to play short stop agin.

A time that I was successful was a couple years ago. I had very bad grades and my mom was really mad and told me how much i needed to get my grades higher. So one day she told me that if i get straight As at the end of the year, I could finally get the phone i wanted. So i worked really hard nonstop. Eventually the end of the year came along and i got my report card. It was all staright As. I was so happy. So during the summer me and my mom went to get my phone. I was so proud of myself and what i accomplished when I work hard.

A time I succeeded was when my neighbors and I were playing a huge game of capture the flag. My team was winning when all of a sudden my team started getting picked off one by one. I was the only one left. I crossed the enemy line and started running to their last flag. I avoided one of them and jumped to the flag and grabbed it. One of my friends on the other team tried to tag me, but I was able to avoid him and run back to my side. We won the game.

One time I was was successful was when I learned how to ride a bike. I was 10 which was a real late age to learn but I was trying before that but I had crashed horribly so I guess I was scared to continue. So I was pedaling horribly up the street and drifted down the hill. When I wanted to give up my dad yelled at me. So if it wasn't for my dad i would have not have learned til a later year. I finally was actually doing it and I was so happy I wasn't gonna get yelled at any more. I told my dad thank you for helping me.

i have failed multiple times in my life so its not a shocker wheni fall on my face or run into someone and spill my dink all over them or wreck the golf cart or doing random stupid stuff that i tought would be a good idea at the time. so in summer since i live so close to the feild club pool i drive the golf cart over there almost everyday and meet up with my best friend rachel. well at the pool there are these really old life guards stands and theres one in the 5ft and one in the 11ft. on the life guard stands theres two platforms one to put yoyr feet and one to sit on well i thought it was a good idea to do a backflip off the one you sit on. since no one really comes to the club rachel and i mostly have it to our selves and the life guards don't really care what we do i got up on the stand and procedded to do a backflip. right when i like jump off i new it was a bad idea and i smacked my back so hard it hurt for the next like two days. even though it was a fail im glad i did it because im always gonna remember that moment with rachel.

One time I succeeded was when I placed fifth in summer league regionals. Since the meet was two days and on the weekend, the coach said it was optional. Both of my sisters didn't want to go, but I did so we all had to. My sisters both signed up for three events, but I signed up for the most I could, which was five. I swam 100 IM, 200 IM, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, and 200 backstroke. I expected to make it to the second day, but I didn't expect to place. The first day was fun, although I had to swim a total of 700 meters, and long distance isn't my favorite. The second day was a lot easier, but it was boring. Though it went faster, there was much more sitting around waiting for my one event. I only qualified for the second day in the 200 meter backstroke event. So, I sat under my team's pop-up tent with my 3DS trying to defeat the Elite Four in Pokemon X. It wasn't until towards the end when my event was up. My five other competitors looked intense. They had that look about them that makes you feel like you should be in the baby pool with floaties, while they're Michael Phelps in the olympics. Before I knew it, we were in the pool, mounted, and waiting for the buzzer. In a short distance pool, 200 meters is 8 laps. It doesn't sound like much, but when you're pushing all you can, it feels like a mile. To my suprise, I came in 5th place, opposed to my expected 6th. I'm glad I placed and I'm glad I succeded. I still swim, but only in the summer, until I get to highschool, then I will swim for that team.

A time I wasn't successful was when I was eight years old playing soccer. I played for the Maroon Sharks, which I always thought was a dumb name. It was very rainy that day, and the field was very muddy. I was running down the field with the ball, and I kicked to score a goal. Unfortunately the other kid also kicked under my leg, and when I brought my foot back, I fell and slipped, and landed on my back. The worst part was the disgusting amount of mud in my hair. However, one time when I did succeed was at the last volleyball game of the season. It was the first game I played in since I sprained my ankle so I was very excited to get back in. I was playing outside hitter when the other team served the ball. The serve pretty much sucked, and came right over my head so I just subconsciously put my fist up, and the ball flew over to the other team's side. I didn't have to jump or anything, it was pretty cool. The other team just watched it as it hit the ground. I honestly didn't even expect it to happen, so I was happy.

A time when I was successful would be on my summer softball team. This would be my second season of playing softball. I had to work really hard on my team to keep the starting spot. But when I was really successful, I hit two homeruns in one game. I was so proud of myself because I never hit one before.. I had a lot of failures in that season. One of my failures I learned most from was when I didnt tag the runner on second after she had slid. My coach yelled at me and I started crying. The whole field went silent, no one was screaming just watching me. But now, I tag and push every girl off the base.

I became successful during volleyball. I decided to try it out, I wasn't sure how to play at all. I didn't know what half the terms meant. I was always confused on what we were doing. Our first game was rough. We weren't sure of ourselves so it was hard. But eventually we got better. I had a hard time serving I could only do underhand. But I worked and I finally got overhand. I was so excited and one day I decided to try to jump serve. I did it. After I worked it I did it for the first time in a game agains mountaineer middle in Clarksburg I got a lot of aces and got enough points to end the set I was so excited and I can wait to play for high school.
