Joe DiMaggio was born in November 25, 1914 and died March 8, 1999 at the age of 84. He was a center fielder for the New York Yankees. He played his whole 13 years as a Yankee. His MLB debut was May 3, 1936 and his final appearance was on September 30, 1951. His batting average was .325, and he also had 2,214 hits. He had 361 home runs, and had 1,537 Runs batted in. He was a 13x All Star, and 9x World Series Champion. He was also a 3x AL batting champion, and a 2x AL home run leader. His all time high hitting streak is 56 games in a row. Also the New York Yankees retired the #5 which means no one can ever have that number again. His is a member of the Baseball Hall of fame he was inducted in 1995.
Walt Disney got his inspiration to build the theme park Disneyland after taking his daughters to ride the merry-go-round at LA Griffith park. Before dividing to build Disneyland in Anaheim California there were more than 70 sites were built by Walt Disney. It took only one year to make this theme park. On opening day there were only 18 attractions in the park. Walt Disney liked spending time with his guest so much he even offered to stand in line with them. The Disney family crest is above the drawbridge at sleeping beauty's castle here in the park. The address of the amazing theme park is 1313 Disneyland, drive, Anaheim, California. Her real name was Norma Jeane Mortensen. She was a symbol of ultimate beauty. During her career, Monroe films grossed more that over $200 million. Than at the age of 7 she returned to a foster home were she was secular assaulted.

Crack cocaine is the number one drug on the market and is mostly consumed by high-end buyers. People who use this drug are giving up their positive life and turned it into a death sentence. Once you have tried cocaine, you cannot control the extent to which you will continue to use this specific drug. Cocaine is such an addictive drug, after one usage, there is a minimum of 2 hours until you start to crave it again. It can ruin someones life or most likely result in death. Crack cocaine is mainly an alkaloid, which is found in leaves of erythroxylon plants on the continent of Southern America. The most common country for crack cocaine is the country of Columbia. Cocaine is a psycho stimulant, which is powerfully reinforced. This drug is being produced or designed in two different types of outcome. The first one is pure white powder; it is most likely comparable with salt. The second type is the rock. Also known as crack, these rocks almost look similar to peanuts but with the different ion of colors. Crack cocaine rocks have a light type of white. This is produced to have a sell rate of 1,300 per ounce.
Mickey Mantle was a Major League Baseball player from 1951 until 1968. Mantle played for the New York Yankees and played center field and first base. He lived from October 20, 1938 until August 13, 1995. Mantle was also known as "The Mick". He had a total of 1506 runs batted in with an astonishing batting average of .298. Mantle has a total of 536 home runs all time which is 17th most in history. Mickey was a 20 time all star and also a 3 time most valuable player. This New York Yankee had 2,415 hits in his career. Mantle appeared in 12 World Series Championships. 7 of them resulted in a win. He also a 4 time home run champion. He was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1974. Mickey Mantle was an amazing player with great talent.
Harry Truman was the 33rd president of the United States of America. Harry Truman was born in Missouri during World War One he served in France as a artillery officer. After the war he owned a haberdashery which is a place where a haberdasher sells small items such as needles and thread and fabrics. During World War Two Truman approved of the atomic bomb to be dropped in Japan.Truman was in office April 12, 1945 through January 20, 1953. He was born May 8, 1884 and died December 26, 1972. John F. Kennedy (JFK) was born on May 29, 1917 and was assassinated on November 22, 1963. He was the 35th president of the United States. His wife's name was Jacqueline Kennedy, his daughter's name was Caroline Kennedy, and his 2 sons' names were John F. Kennedy Jr. and Patrick Kennedy. Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated JFK. When Harvey was in jail he was shot down by Jack Ruby. Harvey was on the 6th floor when he shot at Kennedy 3 times. Thirty minutes later at Dallas Parkland Hospital Kennedy was pronounced dead. When they announced the he was dead the United States was intensely mourning. The vice president Lyndon Johnson was only 3 cars behind JFK when he was shot. Lyndon Johnson became president the next day. It has been 51 years since his assassination.
Thalidomide was a drug founded by a German company called Grunenthal. It was used by pregnant women for morning sickness. The results of this medication had horrific side effects to the unborn children. Some babies were born with short or no arms. Most babies had legs, but the unfortunate ones did not. They may have been given artificial legs. About 10,000 babies were born with defects from Thalidomide. There were approximately 40 babies in the United States were born with defects from the use of this drug. About 1961 the medication was removed from the market. Thalidomide was not FDA approved in the United States. Grunenthal’s CEO realized that not apologizing was a “shock” to the people. He later apologized on behalf of the company to those effected and especially the mothers.
Woodstock was the three-day-long music festival, including such unforgettable acts such as Jimi Hendrix, The Who, and Grateful Dead. Founded by Michael Lang, John P. Roberts, Joel Rosenman, and Artie Kornfield, Woodstock of 1969 was arguably the biggest rock festivity. Although, originally planned to last two days, the festival lasted 3. The initial year Woodstock started was 1969, and was held in White Lake, New York. It was held in a 600-acre dairy farm. The concert included many different styles of rock music, like folk, jazz, and psychedelic. Rolling Stone listed Woodstock as one of the 50 Moments that Changed Rock and Roll. Woodstock festivals are still occurring to this day. The latest one was in 2009, meaning it’s due time for another rock spectacular.
In 1956, Montgomery, Alabama was known for being one of the most segregated places in the U.S. The black citizens wanted to make a change to all that was unfair. The bus system was favored to the whites. This let to blacks being stubborn and wanting to stick up for what was right. Cause and effect occurred and the blacks were being arrested for not giving up their seats to the whites. People were getting arrested and stuff which made them even angrier. They put together a system called the Montgomery Bus Boycott. It was when they would stop riding the buses until they got desegregated. Eventually it did, but there were still a lot more to desegregate in Montgomery Alabama.
Apollo 11 was a space flight that landed the first humans on the moon. American astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins were on the Apollo 11 space mission. On July 20, 1969 the Saturn V rocket lifted off at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida. As they were on the moon they collected 47.5 pounds of moon material such as moon rock. As the Saturn V rocket lifts off they reach a speed of 25,000 miles an hour to get out of Earth's atmosphere. About halfway through the flight the service module disembarked leaving the mission. Soon after the command module disconnected with Michael Collins in it floating adrift in space waiting for Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin return from the moon in the lunar module. As lunar module landed on the moon Neil Armstrong descended from the lunar module's ladder onto the surface of the moon saying the legendary quote, "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." After a day on the moon the lunar module reunited with the command module returning to the voyage back to earth. The astronauts came to the earth surface and was descending into earth at about 35,000 miles an hour, then landed in the Pacific ocean with a calm landing guided by parachutes.
Dwight D. Eisenhower was born Oct. 14th, 1890 and died March 28th, 1969. He was the 34th President and the last President to be born in the 19th century. He was in the army and was very high rank. He was in the army before and after his Presidency. He was raised in a large family in Kansas. His family was strong in religion. He graduated from West Point. He was the President of Columbia university before being President. He entered the presidential race in 1952 winning it by a landslide. He threatened Korea with nuclear bombs which ended the Korean war.After Russia launched the worlds first satellite he started the program NASA. Later on beating Russia and all the other countries to the moon. He served two terms as president. People now say that he was one of the best U.S. Presidents we have ever had.

Bardot is a french former actress, singer, and fashion model.She was also a widely know sex symbol of the 1950's and 1960's. Bardot became a ballerina at young age, acting soon followed. She appeared in 16 routine comedy films and became world famous in 1957. She later stared in Jean-Luc Godard's in 1963. She was now the subject of Simone de Beauvior's 1959 essay. She retired from the entertainment industry in 1973. During her career she starred in 47 films. She also preformed in several musical shows and recorded more than 50 songs. After her retirement, she was awarded the Legion of Honour in 1985 but refused to recieve it. After retirement she took up the job as an animal rights activist.
Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1879, in Ulm, Wurttemberg, Germany. He was a physicist and a scientist who developed the general theory of relativity, among other feats. In 1921, he even won the Nobel Prize for physics for his explanation of the photoelectric effect, and immigrated to the U.S. in the following decade after being targeted by the Nazis. Einstein was generally considered the most influential physicist of the 20th century. Also, he had a major impact on the development of atomic energy. With a focus on unified field theory during his later years, he died on April 18, 1955, in Princeton, New Jersey.
Roy Capanella lived from November 19,1921 to June 26,1993. He was nick-named "Campy" and was an American baseball player. The position he played was catcher. The Philadelphia native played for Negro leagues and Mexican leagues for many seasons until moving up to the Minor Leagues in 1946. He made his Major League Baseball Debut in 1948.He played for the Dodgers in the 1940's and 1950's. In 1958 his playing career ended after he was paralyzed in a car accident. After being paralyzed he became a scout for the Dodgers. He was considered to have been one of the greatest catchers in the history of the game. Capanella was inducted into the hall of in 1969.
Rocky Marciano was born on September 1, 1923 in Brockton, Massachusetts. He was an undefeated professional boxer. His record was 49-0. Rocky was most known for his style, stamina, and his cast iron chin. Also for his punching power for a man that only weighed 190 pounds. He won 43 out of 49 by knockout. His knockout percentage was 87.75% in one of the highest in heavyweight history. His nicknames were The Brockton Blockbuster and The Rock from Brockton. He ended up living a short life, dying at the age of 45 on August 31, 1969. He died in a plane crash that night 1 day before his 46th birthday.
Zach Frazier 5th The most well known U.S political scandal is Watergate. On June 17,1972 Richard Nixon's administration group broke into the Watergate hotel to steal information of his opposing party. The scandal began when 5 men were arrested for breaking into the DNC headquarters.The FBI connected the break in with Nixion's group. The investigation showed that Nixion had a tape recording system to get information . After the break in Nixon's administration group tried to cover up the break in. However, they could not . Instead of facing impeachment Nixon chose to resign. Sixty-nine people were tried and 48 were found guilty.
Charles Raymond Starkweather was a spree killer in the late 1950's. He and his girlfriend/ assumed partner traveled and killed 11 people and two dogs. When Charles was a teenager he was often bullied, because he had disease which made his legs form differently and also he couldn't really see. One can presume that one of the reasons he became a spree killer was due to frequent bullies. He went on to make other friends and even a girlfriend. He and his best friend, Bob Von Busch admired James dean and tried to copy his rebellious style. Later Bob introduced him to the stunning Caril. He loved Caril and even though she was only 13 they became close and began dating, he even claimed they were going to marry and she was carrying his child. His first victim was a gas station attendant who would not take credit when Charles tried to buy a stuffed dog for Caril, so he went back and shot him. It is unclear how Caril's family: the two year old Betty Jean Barrnet and her parents August Myer and Velda Barrnet came to their untimely death, but after a heated argument with Charles Betty Jean who was only two had almost been suffocated, but instead stabbed, as well as her father, and her mother had been shot. He also murdered two teens after stealing their car, a business man along with his wife and their maid and Merle Collins. He and Caril were later arrested. Caril claims to have been held hostage but since she had ample time to escape she was jailed for 17 years, while Charles was put on the electric chair. The Little Rock 9 are famous for being the first black students to attend a predominantly white school. People made fun of them and they weren't treated fairly. They always had people trying to prevent them from getting into the school. At one point, there were people from the National Guard blocking the entrance. A little while later the National Guard was actually helping the black kids get in the school safely. Before any of the guards came, it was hard for the black students to focus on their work due to other students being mean and making fun of them. Nobody was friends with them until a group of white students realized the black students could use some friends. This group of white kids invited the black students to sit with them at lunch. The 9 were probably afraid that these students were tricking them. At the same time they were probably hoping that the white students really wanted to be friends. James Dean, born on February 8th 1931. James Was an the first American Actor to receive a posthumous Academy Award Nomination for best Actor. He Remains the only actor to have had two posthumous acting nominations. James was a cultural icon of teenage disillusionment and social estrangement. James dean had passed away in a deadly Vehicle accident on September 30th 1955, he was only 24 years old when he passed. His enduring fame and popularity rest on his performances in only three films. Concern strikes service providers, policy professionals, government workers, and society with homelessness in the United States. Unfortunately, this classified group can include more then people our society describes as "worthless" or "pathetic". It can include even our own veterans that risked their lives for our country; the ones with true battle scars, and real strength. Many of our veterans suffer from post traumatic stress disorder, disability, family breakdown, joblessness, poverty, or lack of housing. These many reasons are why homeless veterans in the United States are left without anywhere to go, and no family. Our veterans do not deserve the lives some of them are left with living today.
The TV has come along way from its original model. The inventors were Philo Farnsworth and Charles Francis Jenkins and was invented in 1927. The first color channel was NBC and today its the biggest national TV channel today. In the 1980's the remote control came out so people didn't have to switch the channel manually. They became famous in America after World War 2 and over 1 million Americans had them. In the 1960's the TV satellite was launched and in 1969 over 600 million people watched the landing on the moon from there homes. And on January 14 1973 over one billion people watched Elvis Presley perform in Hawaii. Today TV has modified the technology of the 21'st century
Psycho is a low-budget "horror slasher thriller" film made in 1960 and directed by the world renown Alfred Hitchcock. The movie Psycho was based on the novel by the same name written by Robert Bloch. A Phoenix secretary Marion Crane (Janet Leigh) leaves town after stealing $40,000 from her employer in hopes to escape with her boyfriend, Sam Loomis (John Gavin). She was overwhelmed with exhaustion in the middle of a heavy rainstorm. Taking the back roads to evade the police, she stops for a night at the beaten-down Bates Motel and meets the polite Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins) who has a fascination with taxidermy and a bizarre relationship with his mom. The movie is considered to be among the greatest films of all time and is widely thought to be the earliest example of the slasher film genre. Also in 1980 the, U.S. Library of Congress said that the film was "culturally historical and aesthetically significant," and it was chosen for preservation in the National Film Registry. In the beginning, Psycho received assorted reviews but overall people said that it was a very good movie. Psycho first introduced to a cast of unforgettable characters, the notorious Bates Motel, and the immediately recognizable and chilling film score that will forever live in our modern nightmares.

In the originally play captain hook losses his right hand but the Disney artists and producers thought that he wouldn’t be able to do all the stunts and it would be harder for him to act so they switched it to his left hand. The fairy dust was later added for health and safety reasons.
Do many Americans remember the failed attack called the Bay of Pigs Invasion? The Bay of Pigs Invasion was an attempt to overthrow Cuban leader, Fidel Castro. It was a plan ordered by President Eisenhower, but later executed by President Kennedy. The plan was to train Cuban exiles who left the country after Castro took control. The CIA was to train them in guerilla warfare and arm them with weapons. On April 17,1961, the Cuban exile brigade attacked Castro's army on Cuba's southern shore known as the Bay of Pigs, however Castro was aware of their plan and they were defeated. The entire battle lasted less than 24 hours. The reason the United States planned the Bay of Pigs invasion was to help the exiles gain control over their country and because Castro was attempting to end American influence on the island. He was also establishing strong ties with the Soviet Union and governing Cuba in a communist manner.

In the 1950's, a new era of car was created. The Studebaker. With the signature "bullet nose" front end, the car was very stylish. In fact, the 1950's model looked almost identical to the 1947-49 models. All except for the front end. This classic car clocked 0-60 in just 12.5 seconds! This was not that bad back then. The Studebaker ran on a V-8 engine. This means that there is 8 valves, all aligned in a "V" shape. Having the best milage per gallon at 28 mpg, the Studebaker was the champion of its class. At only $1,500, The classic beauty was one of the most affordable full size cars around. In conclusion, the Studebaker is a great car.
Psycho is one of the most famous horror films of all time. Director Alfred Hitchcock famous suspense film director. Hitchcock is also famous for The Birds and Psycho. Psycho made in 1960 was a low budget movie that ended up being very successful. The movie is about a girl who is having problems with her boy friend and goes to The Bates motel and meets Norman Bates a corrupt man who was very close to his mother when the mother kills the girl her sister gets suspicious on why she hasn't been seen when her and the girls boyfriend go out looking for her the find the motel search every where until the sister finds out that Normans mother has ben dead all along and Norman was dressing up as the mother. The character Norman Bates is based of a real serial killer Ed Gein. Ed also inspired texas chainsaw massacre and buffalo bill from the silence of the lambs. Psycho has two sequels and a new hit TV show called The bates motel.

Gamal Abdel Nasser was a very controversial figure in Egypt's political history, and in world history. He was the man to overthrow the last king of Egypt, King Farouk, in 1952. Nasser was born in 1918, in the Egyptian city of Alexandria. He died in 1970, and the next Egyptian president was Anwar Sadat. Nasser was the first Egyptian leader to challenge the dominance of Britain in Egypt and the Middle Eastern region. He also beleived that all Arab nations should work together as one. At the early age of 15, Nasser was already actively involved in anti-British demonstrations. He made the world nervous by collaborating with the USSR in the 1950s when communism was seen by some as a major threat. Nasser wanted help from the USSR to build a dam to control flooding and hydro-electric power. Russia wanted access to the Meddertaranian sea by relations with Egypt. It's interesting to learn more about history when Egypt is in the news all the time now. Since the revolutions of the Arab Spring that promised more democracy, Egypt has struggled to become stable.
On September 25, 1962, in the heavyweight boxing match Sonny Liston knocked out heavy weight world champion Floyd Patterson in the very first round. This fight was significant, because Liston was known as a thug. After he won the fight and went back to Philedelphia, they didn't give him any attention for winning. The police harassed him, which made him leave Philadelphia. Everyone thought that he would easily beat a young upstart named Cassius Clay, soon renamed as Muhammad Ali. Sonny Liston was 34-1-0 when he fought Patterson. He had 25 knockouts. He was 6 feet tall, 215 lbs. and had an orthodox stance. Floyd Patterson was 38-3-0 when he was fighting Liston. He had 29 knockouts. He was 6 feet tall and was 194 lbs with an orthodox stance. Nobody wanted Floyd Patterson to fight Sonny Liston because of his criminal past and unsavory reputation. It was an amazing fight, because Sonny Liston knocked Floyd Patterson out in the first round of the fight.
Mickey Mantle was born on October 20,1931 in Spavinaw, Oklahoma. After being scouted in high school, Mantle joined the majors at age 19. He played his first game for the New York Yankees in 1951 and stayed with them for his whole 18 year career. He hit 536 home runs and was named the American League's Most Valuable Player three times. In 1956, he won the American League triple crown with 52 home runs, 130 RBI's and a .353 batting average. He was elected into the baseball hall of fame in 1974. After years of hard drinking, Mantle received a liver transplant in 1995, but died of a heart attack later that same year.
The first effective polio vaccine was developed in 1952 by Jonas Salk at the University of Pittsburgh, but it would require years of testing. Polio is a viral disease which may affect the spinal cord causing muscle weakness and paralysis. The polio virus enters the body through the mouth, usually from hands contaminated with the stool of an infected person. Polio is more common in infants and young children and occurs under conditions of poor hygiene. Paralysis is more common and more severe when infection occurs in older individuals.Polio has been eliminated from the United States. But the disease is still common in some parts of the world. It would only take one person infected with polio virus coming from another country to bring the disease back here if we were not protected by vaccine.
The real name of the folk hero Davey Crockett was David "Davey" Crockett. He was born in eastern Tennessee on August 17, 1786. He was a frontiersman, soldier, politician and even a folk hero. He died March 6, 1868 at the final battle of the Alamo while trying to defend the independence and freedom of Texas. One of the little know stories about "Davey" occurred while he was a politician. He was walking and talking with Andrew Jackson when a disgruntled house painter by the name of Lawerence tried to kill Jackson after a funeral. When Lawerence failed to kill with his first single shot pistol Jackson defended himself by beating him with his cane. As Lawerence pulled a second pistol which miss fired that is when Davey and several other by standers wrestled Lawerence to the ground. This speaks volumes about the patriotism and bravery of David Crockett.
Joseph Stalin was the leader of the Soviet Union for two decades, and helped take down the Nazi regime. Born December 18,1878 and dying on March 5,1953 Stalin was the dictator of the Soviet Union. He rose to power as general secretary of the communist party. He became the dictator after Vladimir Lenin's death. Though never as strong orator like Vladimir, Joseph excelled at mundane operations of the revolution. joseph Stalin played a big role on destroying the Nazi regime
Malcom X also known as Malcom Little, was born on May 19,1925. In the state Omaha, Nebraska. His family were in the middle-class. They also were involved in the church. His dad, Earl Little, was a Baptist minister. Involved as a civil rights activist and a supporter of the, Black Nationalist leader, Marcus Gravey
Malcom X didn't have a comfortable time growing up. Its not like he was being bullied, but he was doing narcotics and gambling. Malcom became involved with the Nation of Islam also known as the (NOI). He was credited with increasing membership in the NOI fro 500 in 1952 to 30,000 in 1963. Malcom had childhood memories of th kik attacking and burning down his home in, Lansing, Michigan.

Around the 1980s two famous soft drink brand Pepsi and Coca Cola came to an agreement to use each others names in marketing. One of the most recent advertisement in the Cola wars was a commercial where Pepsi said you could win concert tickets, then someone said but you can get your name on a bottle of Coke, and the actress said, " Do I look like a Larry to you?" Coca Cola out sold Pepsi in diet alone. Pepsi sold about 892 million cases when Coke sold about 1.6 billion cases of its regular cola and 927 cases of its diet. All in all they gave each other permission to use their names in commercials but Coke was the rising start.
In the 1960s John F. Kennedy ran for President and won the election. To this day JFK is the youngest president of all 43 of them. He was the 35th president of the United States. He was in office form January 1961 to November 1963. He only had a three year term beacuse sadly he was assassinated one of only 4 presidents who have been assassinated. Vice president at that time was Lyndon B. Johnson. JFK had many children their names were Caroline Kennedy, JFK jr., Patrick Bouvier kennedy. and Arabella kennedy. And one of kennedy's famous quotes was ,"Forgive your enemies, but never forget their names."
Ernest Hemingway was an American author and journalist. He produced most of his work in the mid 1920s and the mid 1950s, and in 1954 he won the Nobel Prize in Literature. Hemingway has written seven novels, two non fiction works, six short collections. Four short story collections, three novels, three nonfiction works were additional works got published posthumously. Hemingway was born in Oak Park, Illinois. after we was out of high school he was reported to The Kansas City Star. He was seriously wounded and returned home, before leaving for Italian front to enlist with World War 1 ambulance drivers. His wartime experiences helped formed the basics of his novel A Farewell to Arms in 1929. After the publication of The Old Man and the Sea in 1952, Hemingway went on a safari in Africa, where he was almost killed by two plane crashes. They were successive plane crashes leaving him in pain or ill health for the rest of his remaining life. In the 1930s he was permanent residences in Key West, Florida, and in Cuba. The Edsel Corvair was an automobile built by Ford in the late 50's that was made as an attempt to bridge the gap between Ford and General Motors at the time. Ford invested millions into the Edsel, yet the train that was the Edsel derailed over a cliff in a fireball killing hundreds. It sold terribly. Ford lost 350 million dollars in the endeavor, or today, the equivalent of 2,800,000,000 dollars. Reasons for why it was a terribly excuse for a car vary between who you ask. Some say it not only had a very poor marketing campaign and design, yet also lacked strong internal support so even if you did buy this lump of metal, it might still fall apart and kill you and your family. Others say it was just the wrong car at the wrong time, and maybe it was; Ford had an equally risky wager with the Sierra, which launched 25 years later, yet was a total success. But the Edsel wasn't a success (if you couldn't figure it out by now), it was so terrible the word "Edsel" is now synonymous with a commercial failure. Kudos to you, Ford.
The person I chose from this film is Marilyn Monroe. She was born on June 1,1926 in Los Angeles, California and she died on August 5, 1962 in Brentwood, Los Angeles, California. She became successful during the 1950's and early 1960's. Although she has many quotes, the one that sticks out to me the most is "Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring." because everyone wants to be perfect and nobody wants to be boring.
Sugar Ray Robinson was born May 3rd, 1921 and died April 12th,1989 at the age of 67. His birth name was Walker Smith. He was an African American boxer who was often sited as the world's best boxer. In a total of 200 he won 173 of them 108 by KO. He only had 19 losses and 6 draws. As an amateur he was 85-0 with 69 KO's. He held the world welterweight title for 6 straight years then, the world middleweight title latter in the year. Then Robinson retired in 1952 but, cam back in 1955. In his early life he was the youngest of him and 2 sisters. When he was around 19 he was working two jobs to support his family. He married Marjorie Joseph and they got divorced the same year. In my opinion he was the greatest boxer of all time!
Davie crocket was born on August 17th 1786 in Tennessee. Crocket got married at the age of 18 and at that time he began to learn how to read and write. Davie Crockett is and always will be know as a famous hunter and trapper from Tennessee. But, if you are from Texas you know him as a fearless fighter at the battle of the Alamo.
In 1821 he was elected state legislatorand later again reelected in 1823. From 1827 until 1833 cockett sever in congress in the United States. But, in his run for his forth term he was defeated by a narrow margin.later after Crockett and a few of his fellow Tennesseans were among the 189 defenders that sacrificed their lives at The Battle of the Alamo in the interest on Texas independence
Before astronauts were able to take flight into space other living creatures tested the way to help form human space flight. Fruit flys were the first living creatures to test the effects of DNA and radiation. The fruit flys were sent up with some corn seeds in 1947. When the capsule was recovered the flys were well and alive. The first successful monkey to be sent up into space was Albert the 2nd. On June 14th 1949 Alberts flight didn't go as well as the fruit flys. His parachute had a dysfunction and he was killed with landing impact. Many more monkeys were tested for space flight though none were successful with remaining alive. On May 28th, 1959 two monkeys Able and Miss Baker were successfully survived the flight into space. This helped us form what we now have been able to do, human space flight!
Grace Kelly is married to the prince of Monaco, prince Rainier the third they got married April 18, 1956. She had a short acting career she acted in 29 movies including Dial M for Murder, Rear Window, To Catch a Thief, and Hitchcock Project. For having such a short acting career she was the first actress to receive an United States stamp in 1993. She died on September 13,1982 of a stroke and a car accent
The Sputnik was the first man-made satellite to be launched into orbit on October 4th, 1957. The satellite was the size of a basketball and weighed 180 pounds. It traveled 18,000 miles per hour, 500 miles above the earth, completed one orbit every 98 minutes, and passed over the US seven times a day. Sputnik emitted a beeping signal back to earth for 23 days, until October 27th, 1957 when the battery reportedly died. The sputnik remained in orbit until January 4th, 1958, when it reentered and burned up in the earths atmosphere. The New York times said that the translation of sputnik is "Something that is traveling with a traveler."

Crack cocaine is the number one drug on the market and is mostly consumed by high-end buyers. People who use this drug are giving up their positive life and turned it into a death sentence. Once you have tried cocaine, you cannot control the extent to which you will continue to use this specific drug. Cocaine is such an addictive drug, after one usage, there is a minimum of 2 hours until you start to crave it again. It can ruin someones life or most likely result in death. Crack cocaine is mainly an alkaloid, which is found in leaves of erythroxylon plants on the continent of Southern America. The most common country for crack cocaine is the country of Columbia. Cocaine is a psycho stimulant, which is powerfully reinforced. This drug is being produced or designed in two different types of outcome. The first one is pure white powder; it is most likely comparable with salt. The second type is the rock. Also known as crack, these rocks almost look similar to peanuts but with the different ion of colors. Crack cocaine rocks have a light type of white. This is produced to have a sell rate of 1,300 per ounce.

John F. Kennedy (JFK) was born on May 29, 1917 and was assassinated on November 22, 1963. He was the 35th president of the United States. His wife's name was Jacqueline Kennedy, his daughter's name was Caroline Kennedy, and his 2 sons' names were John F. Kennedy Jr. and Patrick Kennedy. Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated JFK. When Harvey was in jail he was shot down by Jack Ruby. Harvey was on the 6th floor when he shot at Kennedy 3 times. Thirty minutes later at Dallas Parkland Hospital Kennedy was pronounced dead. When they announced the he was dead the United States was intensely mourning. The vice president Lyndon Johnson was only 3 cars behind JFK when he was shot. Lyndon Johnson became president the next day. It has been 51 years since his assassination.

Thalidomide was a drug founded by a German company called Grunenthal. It was used by pregnant women for morning sickness. The results of this medication had horrific side effects to the unborn children. Some babies were born with short or no arms. Most babies had legs, but the unfortunate ones did not. They may have been given artificial legs. About 10,000 babies were born with defects from Thalidomide. There were approximately 40 babies in the United States were born with defects from the use of this drug. About 1961 the medication was removed from the market. Thalidomide was not FDA approved in the United States. Grunenthal’s CEO realized that not apologizing was a “shock” to the people. He later apologized on behalf of the company to those effected and especially the mothers.
Woodstock was the three-day-long music festival, including such unforgettable acts such as Jimi Hendrix, The Who, and Grateful Dead. Founded by Michael Lang, John P. Roberts, Joel Rosenman, and Artie Kornfield, Woodstock of 1969 was arguably the biggest rock festivity. Although, originally planned to last two days, the festival lasted 3. The initial year Woodstock started was 1969, and was held in White Lake, New York. It was held in a 600-acre dairy farm. The concert included many different styles of rock music, like folk, jazz, and psychedelic. Rolling Stone listed Woodstock as one of the 50 Moments that Changed Rock and Roll. Woodstock festivals are still occurring to this day. The latest one was in 2009, meaning it’s due time for another rock spectacular.

In 1956, Montgomery, Alabama was known for being one of the most segregated places in the U.S. The black citizens wanted to make a change to all that was unfair. The bus system was favored to the whites. This let to blacks being stubborn and wanting to stick up for what was right. Cause and effect occurred and the blacks were being arrested for not giving up their seats to the whites. People were getting arrested and stuff which made them even angrier. They put together a system called the Montgomery Bus Boycott. It was when they would stop riding the buses until they got desegregated. Eventually it did, but there were still a lot more to desegregate in Montgomery Alabama.
Apollo 11 was a space flight that landed the first humans on the moon. American astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins were on the Apollo 11 space mission. On July 20, 1969 the Saturn V rocket lifted off at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida. As they were on the moon they collected 47.5 pounds of moon material such as moon rock. As the Saturn V rocket lifts off they reach a speed of 25,000 miles an hour to get out of Earth's atmosphere. About halfway through the flight the service module disembarked leaving the mission. Soon after the command module disconnected with Michael Collins in it floating adrift in space waiting for Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin return from the moon in the lunar module. As lunar module landed on the moon Neil Armstrong descended from the lunar module's ladder onto the surface of the moon saying the legendary quote, "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." After a day on the moon the lunar module reunited with the command module returning to the voyage back to earth. The astronauts came to the earth surface and was descending into earth at about 35,000 miles an hour, then landed in the Pacific ocean with a calm landing guided by parachutes.
Dwight D. Eisenhower was born Oct. 14th, 1890 and died March 28th, 1969. He was the 34th President and the last President to be born in the 19th century. He was in the army and was very high rank. He was in the army before and after his Presidency. He was raised in a large family in Kansas. His family was strong in religion. He graduated from West Point. He was the President of Columbia university before being President. He entered the presidential race in 1952 winning it by a landslide. He threatened Korea with nuclear bombs which ended the Korean war.After Russia launched the worlds first satellite he started the program NASA. Later on beating Russia and all the other countries to the moon. He served two terms as president. People now say that he was one of the best U.S. Presidents we have ever had.

Bardot is a french former actress, singer, and fashion model.She was also a widely know sex symbol of the 1950's and 1960's. Bardot became a ballerina at young age, acting soon followed. She appeared in 16 routine comedy films and became world famous in 1957. She later stared in Jean-Luc Godard's in 1963. She was now the subject of Simone de Beauvior's 1959 essay. She retired from the entertainment industry in 1973. During her career she starred in 47 films. She also preformed in several musical shows and recorded more than 50 songs. After her retirement, she was awarded the Legion of Honour in 1985 but refused to recieve it. After retirement she took up the job as an animal rights activist.

In 1921, he even won the Nobel Prize for physics for his explanation of the photoelectric effect, and immigrated to the U.S. in the following decade after being targeted by the Nazis. Einstein was generally considered the most influential physicist of the 20th century. Also, he had a major impact on the development of atomic energy. With a focus on unified field theory during his later years, he died on April 18, 1955, in Princeton, New Jersey.

Roy Capanella lived from November 19,1921 to June 26,1993. He was nick-named "Campy" and was an American baseball player. The position he played was catcher. The Philadelphia native played for Negro leagues and Mexican leagues for many seasons until moving up to the Minor Leagues in 1946. He made his Major League Baseball Debut in 1948.He played for the Dodgers in the 1940's and 1950's. In 1958 his playing career ended after he was paralyzed in a car accident. After being paralyzed he became a scout for the Dodgers. He was considered to have been one of the greatest catchers in the history of the game. Capanella was inducted into the hall of in 1969.

Rocky Marciano was born on September 1, 1923 in Brockton, Massachusetts. He was an undefeated professional boxer. His record was 49-0. Rocky was most known for his style, stamina, and his cast iron chin. Also for his punching power for a man that only weighed 190 pounds. He won 43 out of 49 by knockout. His knockout percentage was 87.75% in one of the highest in heavyweight history. His nicknames were The Brockton Blockbuster and The Rock from Brockton. He ended up living a short life, dying at the age of 45 on August 31, 1969. He died in a plane crash that night 1 day before his 46th birthday.

The most well known U.S political scandal is Watergate. On June 17,1972 Richard Nixon's administration group broke into the Watergate hotel to steal information of his opposing party. The scandal began when 5 men were arrested for breaking into the DNC headquarters.The FBI connected the break in with Nixion's group. The investigation showed that Nixion had a tape recording system to get information . After the break in Nixon's administration group tried to cover up the break in. However, they could not . Instead of facing impeachment Nixon chose to resign. Sixty-nine people were tried and 48 were found guilty.
Starkweather Homicides
Charles Raymond Starkweather was a spree killer in the late 1950's. He and his girlfriend/ assumed partner traveled and killed 11 people and two dogs. When Charles was a teenager he was often bullied, because he had disease which made his legs form differently and also he couldn't really see. One can presume that one of the reasons he became a spree killer was due to frequent bullies. He went on to make other friends and even a girlfriend. He and his best friend, Bob Von Busch admired James dean and tried to copy his rebellious style. Later Bob introduced him to the stunning Caril. He loved Caril and even though she was only 13 they became close and began dating, he even claimed they were going to marry and she was carrying his child.
His first victim was a gas station attendant who would not take credit when Charles tried to buy a stuffed dog for Caril, so he went back and shot him. It is unclear how Caril's family: the two year old Betty Jean Barrnet and her parents August Myer and Velda Barrnet came to their untimely death, but after a heated argument with Charles Betty Jean who was only two had almost been suffocated, but instead stabbed, as well as her father, and her mother had been shot. He also murdered two teens after stealing their car, a business man along with his wife and their maid and Merle Collins. He and Caril were later arrested. Caril claims to have been held hostage but since she had ample time to escape she was jailed for 17 years, while Charles was put on the electric chair. He died on June 25, 1959.

The Little Rock 9 are famous for being the first black students to attend a predominantly white school. People made fun of them and they weren't treated fairly. They always had people trying to prevent them from getting into the school. At one point, there were people from the National Guard blocking the entrance. A little while later the National Guard was actually helping the black kids get in the school safely. Before any of the guards came, it was hard for the black students to focus on their work due to other students being mean and making fun of them. Nobody was friends with them until a group of white students realized the black students could use some friends. This group of white kids invited the black students to sit with them at lunch. The 9 were probably afraid that these students were tricking them. At the same time they were probably hoping that the white students really wanted to be friends. In the end, out of the Little Rock 9 only one student ended up graduating. Bryanna Masters

When he retired his record was 173 wins, 19 loses, and 6 ties. Robinson retired twice. When his boxing career was over he dabbled in acting. He Remains the only actor to have had two posthumous acting nominations. James was a cultural icon of teenage disillusionment and social estrangement. James dean had passed away in a deadly Vehicle accident on September 30th 1955, he was only 24 years old when he passed. His enduring fame and popularity rest on his performances in only three films. Concern strikes service providers, policy professionals, government workers, and society with homelessness in the United States. Unfortunately, this classified group can include more then people our society describes as "worthless" or "pathetic". It can include even our own veterans that risked their lives for our country; the ones with true battle scars, and real strength. Many of our veterans suffer from post traumatic stress disorder, disability, family breakdown, joblessness, poverty, or lack of housing. These many reasons are why homeless veterans in the United States are left without anywhere to go, and no family. Our veterans do not deserve the lives some of them are left with living today.

The first color channel was NBC and today its the biggest national TV channel today. In the 1980's the remote control came out so people didn't have to switch the channel manually. They became famous in America after World War 2 and over 1 million Americans had them. In the 1960's the TV satellite was launched and in 1969 over 600 million people watched the landing on the moon from there homes. And on January 14 1973 over one billion people watched Elvis Presley perform in Hawaii. Today TV has modified the technology of the 21'st century
Psycho is a low-budget "horror slasher thriller" film made in 1960 and directed by the world renown Alfred Hitchcock. The movie Psycho was based on the novel by the same name written by Robert Bloch. A Phoenix secretary Marion Crane (Janet Leigh) leaves town after stealing $40,000 from her employer in hopes to escape with her boyfriend, Sam Loomis (John Gavin). She was overwhelmed with exhaustion in the middle of a heavy rainstorm. Taking the back roads to evade the police, she stops for a night at the beaten-down Bates Motel and meets the polite Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins) who has a fascination with taxidermy and a bizarre relationship with his mom. The movie is considered to be among the greatest films of all time and is widely thought to be the earliest example of the slasher film genre. Also in 1980 the, U.S. Library of Congress said that the film was "culturally historical and aesthetically significant," and it was chosen for preservation in the National Film Registry. In the beginning, Psycho received assorted reviews but overall people said that it was a very good movie. Psycho first introduced to a cast of unforgettable characters, the notorious Bates Motel, and the immediately recognizable and chilling film score that will forever live in our modern nightmares.

In the originally play captain hook losses his right hand but the Disney artists and producers thought that he wouldn’t be able to do all the stunts and it would be harder for him to act so they switched it to his left hand. The fairy dust was later added for health and safety reasons.

Do many Americans remember the failed attack called the Bay of Pigs Invasion? The Bay of Pigs Invasion was an attempt to overthrow Cuban leader, Fidel Castro. It was a plan ordered by President Eisenhower, but later executed by President Kennedy. The plan was to train Cuban exiles who left the country after Castro took control. The CIA was to train them in guerilla warfare and arm them with weapons. On April 17,1961, the Cuban exile brigade attacked Castro's army on Cuba's southern shore known as the Bay of Pigs, however Castro was aware of their plan and they were defeated. The entire battle lasted less than 24 hours.
The reason the United States planned the Bay of Pigs invasion was to help the exiles gain control over their country and because Castro was attempting to end American influence on the island. He was also establishing strong ties with the Soviet Union and governing Cuba in a communist manner.

In the 1950's, a new era of car was created. The Studebaker. With the signature "bullet nose" front end, the car was very stylish. In fact, the 1950's model looked almost identical to the 1947-49 models. All except for the front end. This classic car clocked 0-60 in just 12.5 seconds! This was not that bad back then. The Studebaker ran on a V-8 engine. This means that there is 8 valves, all aligned in a "V" shape. Having the best milage per gallon at 28 mpg, the Studebaker was the champion of its class. At only $1,500, The classic beauty was one of the most affordable full size cars around. In conclusion, the Studebaker is a great car.

The movie is about a girl who is having problems with her boy friend and goes to The Bates motel and meets Norman Bates a corrupt man who was very close to his mother when the mother kills the girl her sister gets suspicious on why she hasn't been seen when her and the girls boyfriend go out looking for her the find the motel search every where until the sister finds out that Normans mother has ben dead all along and Norman was dressing up as the mother. The character Norman Bates is based of a real serial killer Ed Gein. Ed also inspired texas chainsaw massacre and buffalo bill from the silence of the lambs. Psycho has two sequels and a new hit TV show called The bates motel.

Gamal Abdel Nasser was a very controversial figure in Egypt's political history, and in world history. He was the man to overthrow the last king of Egypt, King Farouk, in 1952. Nasser was born in 1918, in the Egyptian city of Alexandria. He died in 1970, and the next Egyptian president was Anwar Sadat. Nasser was the first Egyptian leader to challenge the dominance of Britain in Egypt and the Middle Eastern region. He also beleived that all Arab nations should work together as one. At the early age of 15, Nasser was already actively involved in anti-British demonstrations. He made the world nervous by collaborating with the USSR in the 1950s when communism was seen by some as a major threat. Nasser wanted help from the USSR to build a dam to control flooding and hydro-electric power. Russia wanted access to the Meddertaranian sea by relations with Egypt. It's interesting to learn more about history when Egypt is in the news all the time now. Since the revolutions of the Arab Spring that promised more democracy, Egypt has struggled to become stable.

This fight was significant, because Liston was known as a thug. After he won the fight and went back to Philedelphia, they didn't give him any attention for winning. The police harassed him, which made him leave Philadelphia. Everyone thought that he would easily beat a young upstart named Cassius Clay, soon renamed as Muhammad Ali. Sonny Liston was 34-1-0 when he fought Patterson. He had 25 knockouts. He was 6 feet tall, 215 lbs. and had an orthodox stance. Floyd Patterson was 38-3-0 when he was fighting Liston. He had 29 knockouts. He was 6 feet tall and was 194 lbs with an orthodox stance. Nobody wanted Floyd Patterson to fight Sonny Liston because of his criminal past and unsavory reputation. It was an amazing fight, because Sonny Liston knocked Floyd Patterson out in the first round of the fight.

Mickey Mantle was born on October 20,1931 in Spavinaw, Oklahoma. After being scouted in high school, Mantle joined the majors at age 19. He played his first game for the New York Yankees in 1951 and stayed with them for his whole 18 year career. He hit 536 home runs and was named the American League's Most Valuable Player three times. In 1956, he won the American League triple crown with 52 home runs, 130 RBI's and a .353 batting average. He was elected into the baseball hall of fame in 1974. After years of hard drinking, Mantle received a liver transplant in 1995, but died of a heart attack later that same year.

Polio is a viral disease which may affect the spinal cord causing muscle weakness and paralysis. The polio virus enters the body through the mouth, usually from hands contaminated with the stool of an infected person. Polio is more common in infants and young children and occurs under conditions of poor hygiene. Paralysis is more common and more severe when infection occurs in older individuals.Polio has been eliminated from the United States. But the disease is still common in some parts of the world. It would only take one person infected with polio virus coming from another country to bring the disease back here if we were not protected by vaccine.

The real name of the folk hero Davey Crockett was David "Davey" Crockett. He was born in eastern Tennessee on August 17, 1786. He was a frontiersman, soldier, politician and even a folk hero. He died March 6, 1868 at the final battle of the Alamo while trying to defend the independence and freedom of Texas. One of the little know stories about "Davey" occurred while he was a politician. He was walking and talking with Andrew Jackson when a disgruntled house painter by the name of Lawerence tried to kill Jackson after a funeral. When Lawerence failed to kill with his first single shot pistol Jackson defended himself by beating him with his cane. As Lawerence pulled a second pistol which miss fired that is when Davey and several other by standers wrestled Lawerence to the ground. This speaks volumes about the patriotism and bravery of David Crockett.
Joseph Stalin was the leader of the Soviet Union for two decades, and helped take down the Nazi regime. Born December 18,1878 and dying on March 5,1953 Stalin was the dictator of the Soviet Union. He rose to power as general secretary of the communist party. He became the dictator after Vladimir Lenin's death. Though never as strong orator like Vladimir, Joseph excelled at mundane operations of the revolution. joseph Stalin played a big role on destroying the Nazi regime

Malcom X also known as Malcom Little, was born on May 19,1925. In the state Omaha, Nebraska. His family were in the middle-class. They also were involved in the church. Malcom X didn't have a comfortable time growing up. Its not like he was being bullied, but he was doing narcotics and gambling. Malcom became involved with the Nation of Islam also known as the (NOI). He was credited with increasing membership in the NOI fro 500 in 1952 to 30,000 in 1963. Malcom had childhood memories of th kik attacking and burning down his home in, Lansing, Michigan.
Malcom X was assassinated on February 21, 1965. At a speaking engagement in the Manhattan's Audubon Ballroom
Around the 1980s two famous soft drink brand Pepsi and Coca Cola came to an agreement to use each others names in marketing. One of the most recent advertisement in the Cola wars was a commercial where Pepsi said you could win concert tickets, then someone said but you can get your name on a bottle of Coke, and the actress said, " Do I look like a Larry to you?" Coca Cola out sold Pepsi in diet alone. Pepsi sold about 892 million cases when Coke sold about 1.6 billion cases of its regular cola and 927 cases of its diet. All in all they gave each other permission to use their names in commercials but Coke was the rising start.
In the 1960s John F. Kennedy ran for President and won the election. To this day JFK is the youngest president of all 43 of them. He was the 35th president of the United States. He was in office form January 1961 to November 1963. He only had a three year term beacuse sadly he was assassinated one of only 4 presidents who have been assassinated. Vice president at that time was Lyndon B. Johnson. JFK had many children their names were Caroline Kennedy, JFK jr., Patrick Bouvier kennedy. and Arabella kennedy. And one of kennedy's famous quotes was ,"Forgive your enemies, but never forget their names."
Ernest Hemingway was an American author and journalist. He produced most of his work in the mid 1920s and the mid 1950s, and in 1954 he won the Nobel Prize in Literature. Hemingway has written seven novels, two non fiction works, six short collections. Four short story collections, three novels, three nonfiction works were additional works got published posthumously. Hemingway was born in Oak Park, Illinois. after we was out of high school he was reported to The Kansas City Star. He was seriously wounded and returned home, before leaving for Italian front to enlist with World War 1 ambulance drivers. His wartime experiences helped formed the basics of his novel A Farewell to Arms in 1929. After the publication of The Old Man and the Sea in 1952, Hemingway went on a safari in Africa, where he was almost killed by two plane crashes. They were successive plane crashes leaving him in pain or ill health for the rest of his remaining life. In the 1930s he was permanent residences in Key West, Florida, and in Cuba. Later on he bought a house in Ketchum, Idaho where in the summer of 1962 he committed suicide.

The Edsel Corvair was an automobile built by Ford in the late 50's that was made as an attempt to bridge the gap between Ford and General Motors at the time. Ford invested millions into the Edsel, yet the train that was the Edsel derailed over a cliff in a fireball killing hundreds. It sold terribly. Ford lost 350 million dollars in the endeavor, or today, the equivalent of 2,800,000,000 dollars. Reasons for why it was a terribly excuse for a car vary between who you ask. Some say it not only had a very poor marketing campaign and design, yet also lacked strong internal support so even if you did buy this lump of metal, it might still fall apart and kill you and your family. Others say it was just the wrong car at the wrong time, and maybe it was; Ford had an equally risky wager with the Sierra, which launched 25 years later, yet was a total success. But the Edsel wasn't a success (if you couldn't figure it out by now), it was so terrible the word "Edsel" is now synonymous with a commercial failure. Kudos to you, Ford.

In 1821 he was elected state legislatorand later again reelected in 1823. From 1827 until 1833 cockett sever in congress in the United States. But, in his run for his forth term he was defeated by a narrow margin.later after Crockett and a few of his fellow Tennesseans were among the 189 defenders that sacrificed their lives at The Battle of the Alamo in the interest on Texas independence

Before astronauts were able to take flight into space other living creatures tested the way to help form human space flight. Fruit flys were the first living creatures to test the effects of DNA and radiation. The fruit flys were sent up with some corn seeds in 1947. When the capsule was recovered the flys were well and alive. The first successful monkey to be sent up into space was Albert the 2nd. On June 14th 1949 Alberts flight didn't go as well as the fruit flys. His parachute had a dysfunction and he was killed with landing impact. Many more monkeys were tested for space flight though none were successful with remaining alive. On May 28th, 1959 two monkeys Able and Miss Baker were successfully survived the flight into space. This helped us form what we now have been able to do, human space flight!

The Sputnik was the first man-made satellite to be launched into orbit on October 4th, 1957. The satellite was the size of a basketball and weighed 180 pounds. It traveled 18,000 miles per hour, 500 miles above the earth, completed one orbit every 98 minutes, and passed over the US seven times a day. Sputnik emitted a beeping signal back to earth for 23 days, until October 27th, 1957 when the battery reportedly died. The sputnik remained in orbit until January 4th, 1958, when it reentered and burned up in the earths atmosphere. The New York times said that the translation of sputnik is "Something that is traveling with a traveler."
