The image I chose was the Hindenburg crash of 37. The Hindenburg disaster at Lakehurst, New Jersey on May 6, 1937 brought an end to the age of the rigid airship.
The disaster killed 35 persons on the airship, and one member of the ground crew, but miraculously 62 of the 97 passengers and crew survived.
After more than 30 years of passenger travel on commercial zeppelins in which tens of thousands of passengers flew over a million miles, on more than 2,000 flights, without a single injury the era of the passenger airship came to an end in a few fiery minutes.

The image I have selected was that of the explosion of the atomic bomb. The atomic bomb was created during WW2 by the Americans after they had learned of Germany's ability to split the uranium atom. We spent over 2 billion and employed over 120,000 people to create the atom bomb; a speedy process that took only four years. The atom bomb was used to speedily end the war after the attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

I have selected the image of the man jumping from a tower. The tower is one of the twin towers. This happen on 9/11. He was jumping because a plane had crashed in to the tower. A lot of people had die doing this. Some people died from the explosion, some jumped from the billing, and some died as it was falling. This was a tragic to America. A lot of people's family members and friends die dong this time. 9/11 was a Tarbell time for America.

I selected the picture of the Jews in the hut. It represents the holocaust. Many Jews were captured and were forced to work and do things that they were told to do. They were tortured and lived in bad conditions. They lived in overcrowded huts. Many diseases were spread in the small areas and most people had lice unless they had to get their heads shaved. This was a very devastating time for the Jews. Most of them died during the holocaust. Not many Jews were left when the Americans rescued them. The Jews were in horrible conditions. They were close to starved and underweight. That's who and what this picture is supposed to make us remember.

I chose the famous picture of Albert Einstein sticking his tongue out. I chose this picture because you see it everywhere on billboards and on the internet. I was curious about how it was taken and who took it. That picture was taken on Albert's 72nd birthday. On March 14th, 1951 a photographer took it when he was on his way home from the party he had for his birthday. The photographer was Aurthor Sasse who was hired for the party to take photos. He randomly took this photo and Albert used it for thank you cards and Christmas cards and many other things. Years later it is till famous and Ablert is almost known for this photo.

The image I selected in this video was the atomic bomb. The atomic bomb was started on August 6, 1945 during the final stage of the second world war. The Americans dropped the atomic bomb on the Japanese. The atomic bomb killed at least 129,000 people remain the only use of nuclear weapons of warfare in history. It was created during World War 2 that was created by Americans after they had learned of Germany's ability to split the uranium atom. We spent over 2 billion and employed over 120,000 people to create atom bomb, process took about four year. The Oppenheimer was ready to test the first bomb. President Harry informed the world that and atomic weapon had been detonated on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. Committee members believed an atomic bomb would destroy the infrastructure of Japan without the need of an invasion.

Pictures are worth more than a thousand words. Sometimes pictures can give you more of an understanding of a topic than books ever can. The picture I chose from the clip was the one with the man standing on one of the twin towers with the first plane in the background. The picture stuck with me because the man didn't know what was about to happen. He didn't know that both twin towers would be collapsing in a matter of hours. Over 2,000 people would die on the largest terrorist attack on the U.S, 9/11.

I chose the picture of the two African American people hung. There was a crowd of people standing beside the African Americans. They didn't seem to bother that there was two dead people hanging from trees beside them. These people probably didn't deserve to be hung, but even if they did, they shouldn't have been hung in public. These acts were common back in the mid to early 1900s. These were acts of racism and hatred for no reason but that their skin was darker than others. Most African Americans didn't have fair trials back in the day. Most of these trials lead to public death, death, or life in prison.

I chose the image of the man jumping from the World Trade Center tower on September 11th,2001. I chose this image because I know about this image the most. This man who jumped from the tower decided that he rather jump from an enormous building and die quickly than sit and wait to die. That took bravery and some guts. That was the most violent day of United States history. That was the first terrorist attack on United States soil. Some people called it the day when the world stopped turning. I hope this will never happen again and we have peace forever.

I chose the photo of the soldiers put up the flag. There were several men putting up the flag which represents we won. It also shows the freedom we have in America. Everyone takes something for granite while those brave people are out serving our country. Fighting for us while we complain about something so stupid. They don't get to see their families a lot and the food probably isn't that great. It was recently Veterans Day to honor those who have served.

Unknown said...

I chose the photo is our soliders holding up the American flag. There were many men trying to stand the flag up in which Kent we had won. And it show how we fought for our freedom and how this flag symbolizes it. And just yesterday was veterans dad and when my grand father was still here every Veterans Day our family would get together and we would have a huge family dinner and we would thank every solider that was still alive that my grand father fought in at with. And we would all thank him. That day we would NOT take something granite we would cherish it and we would thank who ever gave this item to us.

I selected an image in a consntration camp. There were many going in but it meant something to me. It symbolized a time in our life that we weren't free but now we are so all we really have to worry about really is just ourselfs.we don't have to worry about us in WV going to a consetration camp. But in other states maybe we do.

I chose the picture of the black people being hung because of their race people shouldn't be judged by their color or appearance they should be judged by what is on the inside their personality their story. It is so horrible how they were treated I would never judge somebody by their color. I am willing to be friends with anyone of any race that has a good attitude and personality! I am so happy that I didn't have to live during that time. Someone is not able to say anything until they hear their story. I'm telling you that that was a horrible time judging by race is not the way to go, and I hope that horrible time never happens ever again! 😢

The picture I chose is the one where there are four famous men at the zebra crossing. The picture is on August 8, 1969, on a street in north-west London, almost directly outside a celebrated recording studio. Where the Beatles had created the vast majority of their body work. It’s considered as one of the most famous images of the Beatles. The zebra crossing, where they had taken the picture is one of the most famous recognized sites in London. The photographer of this picture is Lain MacMillan. The street was even named after him, Abbey Road.

I chose two pictures actually. They both are taken on the same day and year. Everyone alive on this day can remember exactly what happened. It was a horrifying day. We take time and remember this day every year for some every day. The pictures I chose where taken on 9/11. The one of the man in the building with a plane flying towards it In the background. The other was of a man jumping from one of the two buildings before it collapsed. I chose these pictures because they impact everyone's lives. Espeshaly the ones who had a friends and loved ones in the building at the time of the attack.

I chose the picture of the man standing on the balcony of one of the twin towers with the first plane in the background. I chose this picture because this innocent man didn't even know what was going to be happening in the next few hours. He did t know that a plane would crash into both towers, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania,But unfortunately that man probably lost his life because of someone else's actions. 9/11 is a terrible tradgedy but it already happened so we can't change it. The U.S. hasn't been the same since but as the years go by it gets better but we will never forget what happened on that day.

Unknown said...

I chose the picture of the young man standing taking a picture on the balcony of the twin towers when the plane hits. He probably had no idea what was going on. He was probably on vacation. But because of someone else he lost his life and maybe even his friend or family that was up there with him. A lot of people have been effect by this. The people in the building and around it and the ones in the Pentagon. We will always remember 9/11.

I chose to write about the picture of the bombing of Hiroshima. On August 6, 1945, an American B-29 bomber dropped the world’s first deployed atomic bomb over the city of Hiroshima in Japan. The explosion wiped out 90 percent of the city and immediately killed around 80,000 people; tens of thousands more would later die of radiation exposure. Three days later, a second B-29 dropped another A-bomb on Nagasaki, killing an estimated 40,000 people. Japan’s Emperor Hirohito announced his country’s unconditional surrender in a radio address on August 15, citing the devastating power of “a new and most cruel bomb.” The usage of a nuclear weapon brought the world into the atomic age and raised the stakes of how much devastation could be done in a single attack. While many people spoke out against the usage of these weapons, supporters pointed out that the choice of dropping the Atomic Bombs in Japan ended the war and actually saved even more deaths from an extended war on the Asian front.

I chose the picture of the man jumping out of the twin towers. This photo is so powerful to me because the conditions of the building were so bad he would rather jump than to be there. The attack on 9/11 was the worst act of terms we have had to date . Thousands died on September 11, 2001 for no reason innocent civilians died just doing there job. This man jumping is a very gruesome picture because when he lands there might not even be any body left because he's jumping hundreds on stories head first. This picture is so meaningful because the conditions up their were so bad. No one could breathe everyone was on the window seals, and they knew they were doomed so thats why they started jumping. This is probably the most powerful photo to me.

I chose the picture of the man jumping out of the building, during 9/11. I chose this picture because it an important time and thing to talk about as of today. If we talk about how awful that, that time was it shouldn't happen again. And we hope it doesn't happen again, killing innocent people. Not one family should have to remember one of their loved ones being killed in such a tragic/ horrible way.

I chose the foot print on the moon because that was a big achievement in human kind. The trip was also filmed but the picture is a famous picture that will go down in history. It is also when Armstrong said one small step for man one giant leap for man kind. They also tested one of newtons laws of phishes on the moon but I chose this picture because it is iconic and my favorite out of all of them.

I chose the Muhammad Ali vs Sonny Liston picture. I chose this picture because Muhammad Ali is my favorite fighter of all time, and also the picture looks cool. This was the fight Ali won his first world heavyweight title. It's also one of the most iconic sport pictures of all time.Ali won this fight by technical knockout, because Liston told the ref to stop the fight because he didn't want to fight him no more.

I chose the picture of the man standing on the balcony of one of the twin towers, seconds before it was struck. This shows what terrorists have done to innocent people. We learn about these types of events to help prevent things like this from happening. 9/11 was one of the worst terrorist attacks recorded in history. These are the types of things that make us appreciate what we have even more. You should always live everyday like it's your last, and this picture really displays that.

The picture I hose was of the Wright brothers. Every person doubted them and didn't believe the could make a plane that could actually fly. They ignored them and fought through the hatred. Although they failed a lot they still tried. One day they got it. They made a plane fly. This was a great day and a great new helpful invention was created.

Unknown said...

I also chose the picture of the man standing on the balcony of one of the twin towers. Terrorists have gone mad and have hurt people and country because of hatred. I don't understand why you would destroy something that someone or something put so much work into. Maybe it was to shut our country down or to start a war. But they wanted us to be sad and be down and the dumps and destroyed. But no the U.S. stood back up and is still strong and going. Nothing can destroy my country. I love my country.

The picture I chose was of the marines raising the flag in Imo Jima. I found this picture to be significant to me because it shows that those soldiers had to fight for our freedom and that it has never been free. The picture was taken in Iwo Jima during WWII. The picture on Iwo Jima is a historic photograph taken on February 23, 1945, by Joe Rosenthal it shows three marines raising the American flag after the battle at Iwo Jima. On February 19, 1945, the United States military forces invaded Iwo Jima as part of its strategy to defeat Japan.

The photo I am going to choose was when they were putting up the flag. I chose this photo because they were right in the middle of war and they were brave enough to put another flag after the enemy took their first one that they put up. Putting up the flag in the middle of the war shows that they are fighting for our freedom and they are going to win the war no matter what was going to happen. It also so show that we were not going to give up and we are strong. In another words we were raising from the ashes.

The picture is have chosen was the picture of Winston Church Hill, president Roosevelt, and Joseph Stalin. They all met together to disuse the matters of WW2, to form a alliance to deft the Natizs. Joseph Stalin was originally allies with Hitler at the beginning of World War II. This photo not only shows the beginning of the end for the Nazis, but also the beginning of a brand new war. A war of troop movements, spies, nuclear missals, and fear. A war between the United States and the Soviet Union. This war was called " The Cold War ". The Cold War started the day this meeting and photograph occurred.

The picture I choose was the first step on moon. On July 20,1969 the first step by Neil Armstrong. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked around for three hours and did experiments. They left the United States flag on the moon and it is still there today. It took less than 10 years for the United to put a man on the moon. When Neil landed on the moon he said this is one step for man one giant leap for mankind. When the U.S. landed it ended the space race. This proved the United States could do anything.

Unknown said...

I chose the picture of the first footprint on the moon. In 1961 John F Kennedy gave a speech regarding taking astronauts to and from the moon. It took 8 years for NASA to meet that goal. When they reached the moon on July 20 1969 Neil Armstrong put his left foot on the moon and took a picture. The astronauts walked and collects rocks and dirt to bring back to earth. They landed in the pacific ocean on July 24 and were home.

The photo I have chosen is the first step on the moon. To me it was the best picture on the video. The reason is that I really like science class, and reading is on the edge of being my favorite class. The first step on the moon was a breakthrough in the scientific field. People were in line waiting to watch the rocket to launch through the atmosphere, but only certain people were invited. The picture included the moon, a footprint, rocks, and dust. I think it is funny that the Russians wanted to race Americans to the moon, and the Americans had won. The Russians said that we had staged the whole thing. That is why I have chosen this picture.

I chose the image of the African Americans being hung. That was normal to the crowd because freedom was not an option for my race. Was is fair? Apsolutly not. This was a very touchy and heartbreaking topic that I am glad that I learned in school. We needed to learn about this so that we could apreshiate things more and accept people for who they are. Everyone is so spoiled now and days that they think they are exempt from talking to the no so much privaleged as them.

The photo I chose was the falling man. The photo was taken September 11th 2001. when the world trade center was attacked by terrorists. The reason why the man jumped off was because he was on the top of the building and he couldn't make it out alive so he jumped off instead of being burnt alive.

I chose the very first photo of the video; the picture of a footprint on the moon. I pucked this photo because it represents how man kind can evolve from barely knowing how to write, read and even speak the English language to knowing how to build a contraption that can get them thousands of miles to places in outer space safely. It shows the perseverance of the human race. Anyone can tell you, it wasn't easy getting to the moon. It took multiple years if experiments, testing, research, building, and many failed tries at getting to the moon. The picture of the first foot to step on the moon can be moving to many people by showing them that it always easy, but you CAN in fact do it.

Okay, I’m going on a little rant. Why? The answer is that people are greedy and take things way too serious. My example of this is the picture of the foot print on the moon. Everyone thought going to the moon would be a big accomplishment for the human race so everyone poured money in to helping the government go to space when we can’t handle ourselves here on the planet we live on. We have not accomplished anything as a species but what? War. Genocide. Then when we finally made it to space and on the moon we just walked around, made a speech, and took some rocks that are the same rocks we have here.

The image I chose was of the first flight of all time. It was December 17, 1903 and the name of the plane was the Wright Flyer 1. In the photo there are two men one on the plane which was Orville Wright and the one running next to it was his brother Wilbur Wright. Before the two brothers started flying planes they had a bicycle shop and sold and worked on bicycles. The two brothers grew up in Dayton, Ohio then they moved to North Carolina where they had their bicycle shop and flew the first plane. Without Wilbur and Orville Wright it would be very hard to travel because we would not have planes and many historical events which happened with planes bad and good would not have happened like the first man on the moon, the Bombings of Pearl Harbor an 9/11. They are two important guys the world needed.

I chose to comment on the picture of the famous theoretical physicist, Albert Einstein, sticking his tongue out. On Einstein’s 72nd birthday, a photographer was taking pictures of the scientist. Einstein had smiled many times for photographers that day, and was tired of it. Instead, he stuck his tongue out. The picture gained popularity, and Einstein loved it. He requested several copies of the picture. Even today, the photo continues to be used frequently, and is the most well-known image, and most recognizable image of Einstein. I like this picture because it demonstrates a lighthearted and fun side of Einstein not commonly known by most people.

I chose the picture of the consentration camp. I choose that one because it meant something to me we have learned so much about the Jews and how much there lives were affected because of this. How we shouldn't take anything for granted and how lucky we are to live where live. That fact that we aren't under any rule makes us not understand what they were going through.
