The terms in this video were very interesting. Some of the definitions of the words were confusing, until I paused it and realized exactly what it meant. These terms are very pertinent in my learning experiences. For example, I am using one of the terms right now. Blogging, as the video described, is a way for people on the internet to share their thoughts about the question or comment on a statement made. An example of a podcast I found was How to Speak Spanish. The content of it was somewhat confusing, because the video would just say something in Spanish and an English translation would follow it. I went to librarything.com and found that you can find almost any book in the world and read it, if you are a member. They get their books from over 99 libraries world wide, including the Library of Congress.

I thing this one is for using 21st century computers to do all this stuff. In alluding to the version-numbers that commonly designate software upgrades, the phrase Web 2.0 hints at an improved form of the World Wide Web. Technologies such as blogs, social bookmarking, , podcasts, and other forms of many-to-many publishing, social software, web application programming interfaces and online web services such as eBay and Gmail provide enhancements over read-only websites.

There were a lot of terms explained in this video. One is blogging, which is what I am doing at the moment. There was also wiki which can be found in sites like wikipedia. Did you know that wiki is an acronym? It stands for What I Know Is. pretty cool, huh? I watched grammar girl and the episode was on similes and metaphor. It says basically what mrs. constable said about similes. It says to remember them by the L. I didn't have time to listen to the rest about metaphors. I couldn't find tagging because I really don't understand.

The terms in this video were interesting and confusing. The terms in this video are pertinent to our very delicate learning experience. I watched grammar girl and the episode was similes and metaphors, to summarize the video it was all about how Mrs. Constable told us about similes, how they are and should be used and that stuff.

Many of the terms in the video I am familiarized with. The terms are pertinent in my learning experiences because we are going up in an age where almost everything needs to be done online or with some other form of technology. I have to blog for 2 classes now. It is becoming a regular occurrence now-in-days. I use podcasts too. When i go on iTunes, you can subscribe to free podcasts all the time.
One educational site I checked out was librarything.com. I read that they use over 132 libraries world-wide. They can help kids a lot because there are so many titles to check out. It could help a lot if you needed to do a book report on a certain novel you couldn’t find at your local library. There are so many sites out there that can help students with whatever need be.
I found lots of examples of tagging. Tagging is used a lot with online pictures. Photobucket is one popular site that uses tagging.

Some of the terms in this video I have heard of and others I did not recognize. Blogging was the most common because we do this each week. Yes, I guess they are important and will continue to be even more important in my learning experiences as I get older and use the computer more for school assignments.
The podcast I viewed was iTunes.
This is where you buy songs and videos and download them onto your ipod. I like this because you are able to listen to music while you are on the computer doing homework or other things.
Tagging was something different to me. I went into the site Del.ici.ous.com. Examples of subjects I could study were Free Music Download, Education Software, Online Education,Download free movies, etc. I clicked on the Free Movie site and there was a variety of options to pick from to download different kinds of movies. This was something new for me.
It is interesting at how much information is available to us on the computer. If we are just aware of it being there for us to take advantage of it this could be a real help with school work.

Almost everything we do is online and has something to do with technology. My sister who is 21 never had to do blogging or PowerPoint in high school, we are in the 7th grade and doing a lot more with the computer and are more technologically educated than ever before.
A free podcast site I found is Viaje Español This is a site that helps you learn Spanish it gives you a word for the day. There are tons more this is just one I found.

The things in this video were really interesting cause most of the things I didn't know about. So the video is very pertinent in my learning experiences. I am using blogging right now, which was one of the terms used. One of the podcast that I watched was about aviation and space. It was very interesting to hear things about aviation and space that I didn't know about. tagging is used a lot on the Web. A really popular one is Photobucket.

The terms used in the blog video are pertinent because, they have to do with some of the things we do in our classrooms. Like blogging is used in our English and West Virginia classes, or how we use wiki websites like Wikipedia.com for information purposes and ect. The podcast I watched the Grammar Girl podcast. It basically is a girl /woman who gives language lessons from the comforts of her own domicile. Also she teaches the way to spell words in American and Canadian ways. Like how to spell color, colour; theater, theatre; or neighbor, neighbour, those are all ways to spell those three words. I also visited a wiki site that wasn’t mentioned, Wikipedia.com. Wikipedia is one of my favorite wiki site because, it’s the only one that I know of. And I can research almost anything on there without read a big bulky textbook. No I couldn’t find a site where I could tag, only for the simple reason that I don’t know how to tag online.

Some of the terms in this video were very similar to me because we use them in English class. Blogging for example which we do every week in English and some weeks in WV Studies. Another example was wiki which we have used in Wikipedia. I went to the podcast How To Speak Espanol. I chose this podcast because im currently in Spanish 1. It was interesting how the reader said the Spanish word first then the English word. If I would have done it I would've said it in English first so it would help the listeners more. I also went to librarything.com. (Seems to be popular, huh?) I saw that they recieve their books from many libraries in the world. It is said to possibly one of the most fundamental ways of finding any kind of literature. Hey, I found my book for my book report on there!

This is the web adress of my own podcasts that I made in my mom's class last year in Monongah. All of her students had their own podcast pages with their pod casts on them. They each had their own microphones and earphones so that they could make podcasts. We don't have the right equipment at WFMS to make them, but if you have that stuff at your house it is really easy to make your own podcasts.
If you want to find other free podcasts go to itunes. There is a whole section of podcasts that are free. Some of the podcasts are from famous actors.

We blog for this class, as well as WV Studies. Many people blog for many different reasons. Like us as students blog to learn. I recognized some of the terms in this video, but others I was unfamiliar with. I recognized blogging because I do it almost daily. I never had heard of tagging or RSS websites before. Yes, some of these are pertinent to me now, and I can see how I will be able to use others in the future once I explore them and understand them better. I checked out a podcast called LearnItalianpod.com and it was really funny without meaning to be. They talked about how to get a discount at the market. It was somewhat like an advertisement to subscribe to the site to learn to speak Italian for a small fee. I guess this could be helpful if you listened everyday and learned to memorize the terms.I looked at del.icio.us, a tagging website, and it explained it clearly. I can see how I would use tagging more often because it is simple and it is a time saver. There is so much information available on the computer some of it is useful to what you are looking for and some is not. It is good to know the tools to use to make searches quicker and easier.

I think this video is really cool. When it first started playing it was really eerie! I never new what a Web 2.0 is, Tagging, RSS (never heard of it until now), or what a Wiki is. I knew what a Wiki was but never how to describe it. We use blogging all of the time. We use it one or more times a week. To find and educational website I visited digitalsandbow.edublog.org and found a lot of tagging. Tagging is a group of page definitions coded into a website that provides information to the search engine to describe content. For example on the website on the left there was a search bar were I typed in numerous words like: Wiki, avatars, and more. In the results I found articles with links with more information in bedded in to the article. It was handy! But I couldn’t comment on the website (I couldn’t figure that out). But that site took me to teachertube.com, and other informational pages on what I had typed in.

The terms in this video were all about technology. I was aware of several of them. Blogging was an easy term. This is what we do every week. Podcasting is also a term I was familiar with using. I enjoy downloading tunes to my ipod.
I also knew what a wikki was because I have watched my mother use it for school. I did not know what tagging was or the definition of web 2.0.
I feel that most of the tools described in the video are very useful to me. For example, we when do our weekly blog for Ms. Constable, we are gaining more experience in keyboarding, writing, sentence structure and content usage.
I went to Del.icio.us. This website allowed you to download a number of subjects. I went to Free Music to see some of the music that would be available to download free. I also went to grammar girl to see the home page. I just looked at the homepage to see if there was anything that I thought was interesting.
I then went to the website of StumbleUpon. This allowed me to see just what they meant by tagging. There were videos, people and other areas. I found this site by going to google.
This video this week was very informative and interesting to me. Technology is a very powerful tool.

The terms in the video were pretty simple to understand. Del.icio.us. is a fairly easy site to manuver. The only tagging site or site that you can tag on is music.aol.com. Music.aol.com is a site that allows you to listen and watch music videos for free. It also gives you the option to download music through itunes and napster.

Yes, I think that the terms in the video are pertinent to our learning experiences. A website (I don't know if it is a "podcast" or not) that you can comment on, and listen to music, is imeem.com. This website is some-what like a myspace, you make a page, and add people for friends. Once added people can comment on your page (that is, if you have security set for "friends only"). Also, on this website you can make a playlist. It can be put onto other websites, too.

The etrms discussed in this video are pertinebt in our learning experiences. This means we need and use them often. We get on different websites to look up information for school work, shopping, and looking for music for our ipods. There were a few words in this video I was not real familiar with. Some sites I have never heard of before.
One of the educational sites mentioned in the video is Google. I have been on this website many times. Whenever I need to look something up, this is the site I use. I have found pictures of famous people and places. It has provided me with information for history and science. I also have found information about spanish homework. It was even helpful with my language class.
Blogging is a term I am very familiar with. I write a blog every week for language class, and we have been writing a blog in history also. Some blogs are more interesting than others.
Photobucket is a site I use to get a lot of pictures from. This is an example of tagging. I type in the search area for what I am looking for, and photobucket brings up pictures of that subject. I am sure a lot of students are familiar with this site. Everyone uses it for my space, which is very popular with kids today. If we didn't have these websites I think our lives would be pretty boring.

These technologies are very common among the classrooms of WFMS. Our students use these skills and/or conveniences to gain knowledge of our broadening technological world. The teachers at our school assign weekly projects via the internet, whether it is a blog or a wiki. We have yet to use a podcast, but there has been much discussion as to when we will. All and all, these tools are fairly overused due to the fascination of these new methods of teaching. Honestly this is a great advancement of classroom extensions, it teaches our children how to write as well as think for themselves. Call me old fasion, but i prefer to just simply write it down. I dont't want to seem like I don't like it though, because I actually do like doing these. I feel that through the computer we can create a connection between homes and classrooms never before established.

I went to hitchhikr.com and on this website, it gives tutorials of how to set up a blog, setting up a podcast, and other things to do with setting something up yourself on the internet.

A popular example of tagging is PhotoBucket.com. Members or non-members can go on and look through photos to put on websites. Members can also put pictures on and save other people's pictures to a virtual album.

I watched the podcast on how to speak Italian. I thought it would be less confusing if they put the english before the Italian so you can learn faster. Atleast I would learn faster. There were many terms discussed in this video. Wicki, is what you find on wickipedia. People can change it as often as they want. There is also blogging, is what im doing at the moment.Tagging is a group of page definitions coded into a website that provides information to the search engine to describe content. Podcasts are very useful. I can go to itunes, and subscribe to pretty much anything I want. They can update you with things you find important, or teach you things. Pretty much everthing mentioned in this video I use everyday. All of these terms are used to teach and learn. I do not think that using technology like blogging should be used all the time. If we do, our handwriting skills will not be as great. I would prefer to just write things down.

I went to wickipedia.com. You can type in topics and it will bring up articals that find your key word imbedded in it. This is very useful when doing research. I also watched a podcast on how to speak french. I also commonly use podcasts from itunes daily.

A commonly used tagging site that many people at our school is photobucket.com. At photobucket, you can type in a word, and hopefully, you will find what you were looking for.

We use blogging once a week or more. Whenever I want to search something I usually use google or yahoo. Web 2.0 also mentions wikipedia. It is like an online dictonary. It is so much easier to get on the internet and search for the meaning of a word rather than carring around a heavy dictionary. Some of the sites listed on this video I have never heard of. I went to wikipedia because there is a lot of information to help you on homework and projects. Even though I go to wikipedia I don’t use it as my main source because it is a wiki and people can go on there and make false information.

Photobucket is an example of a tagging website. It is a good example because a lot of people go to the website and tag them to myspace.

Some of the terms discussed in this video are blogging, RSS’s, podcasts, and wikis. All of these terms have been created in the last few years. Yes I think the terms discussed in this video are pertinent in learning experiences because blogging was a term and that helps typing skills and helps us learn to write better. The podcast I found was the news review on WBOY for the West Virginia Mountaineers basketball team’s win against Auburn Wednesday night. The video had the key plays and best shots by the Mountaineers. One highlight was an ally-oop by Joe Alexander. Another content it had was the final score which was 88 to 59. One site witch has information on tagging is “Hitchhikr”. Some information on the site is the definition of tagging, how to tag, and examples of tagging. I tag when I upload videos I make with my friends to Myspace. For example, I had a video on a parody of the show “House” so some tag words I had were house, doctor, and funny.

This video was sort of confusing because is was going all fast and I had to keep pausing. These terms are very pertinent in my learning experiences. Seriously, I am using one right now. Blogging, tagging, and wikis are very common. I use them all of the time. Like wikipedia, blog spot, myspace and img.photobucket. I went to thelibrarything.com and del.icio.us but I didn't like them very well. I found a lot of podcasts from Itunes and a lot of them were famous people or people trying to be famous. It was kind of fun. But that is just me. A really good example of tagging is img.photobucket because tagging is commonly used for images and quotes. DO NOT COPY MY BLOG THIS WEEK. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE :(

This video was interesting. It had many neat terms. Some of the terms in the blog I had heard of and others I hadn't really known the meaning. Some of the terms I recognized included blogging, wiki, and podcast. Blogging is what I am doing now. It is thoughts and opinions of people for others to read. A wiki is a site that people can edit, like wikipedia. A podcast is the distribution of digital, audio, or video files on the web for use on mp3s and other portable media devices. Some terms that I did not recognize included web2.0, tagging, and Rich Site Summary (RSS). Web 2.0 is a set of new tools that lets people express their ideas in new ways. Tagging was tricky to figure out the meaning. I think it is like a link tied into a key word or phrase that when clicked takes you to a new site to help explain and give more information on it. Del.icio.us is a cool site where you can create your own tags. RSS is a format whereby web pages are updated regularly and used for things like weather, and sporting events in progress. I thought the site netvibes showed many different things RSS can be used for. I viewed a grammar girl episode. It was episode 86 "Greeting Card Grammar." She talked about how to use plurals and possessives for words ending in s and z, how to appropriately punctuate greetings beginning with the word hi, and how to appropriately use possessives with two or more people owning the same ting. She sounded like she knew what she was talking about and it was interesting to hear what she had to say. As I said earlier the site de.licio.us was very interesting. It was neat that you could make your own tags.

One of the terms discussed in this video is blogging. I use blogging every once a week when we do these blogs. Another example of a term discussed in this video is wiki. We've used wikipedia to do some things in this class.

I found alot of tagging sites such as photobucket, image shack and tiny pic. I have a photobucket account and have alot of pictures. I never knew what a tagging site was until my mom explained it to me.

There were allot of terms in this video like blogging and wiki. Some of these terms I have used and others I don't recognize. We use blogging in language and social studies. We also in the moment are signing up for wiki in social studies class with Mr.Pattrick. I watched grammar girl it taught me about similes and metaphors it shows how to find them in a sentence and other things. I don’t really know what tagging is but I do know that photo bucket is a tagging site because my mom told me.

I didn't know a lot of the terms on this video, but it was interesting. I have heard of wiki and used wikipedia. I went to the PBwiki site and found that it is a site to work with others on projects or find out information about a project.
I have used podcasts before and they are great. I went to the Grammar Girl site and found an interview with Mignon Fogarty the creator of Grammar Girl. She was talking about the success of the site and she is writing a book about it.
I then went to Hitchhikr site and learned that it is a place where blogs and podcast are all interconnected.
I feel that these sites are very pertinent to our education provides us with all types of resources for learning.

In this video there were many terms that we have discussed in class. I have heard about most of them, such as blogging. Our weekly home activity where we watch a video and then comment on it is a blog. Blog stands for web-log. I have also heard about wiki’s. It is a webpage where you are a member, you can change someone else’s words. Lastly podcasts are small videos that are viewable on websites like iTunes. Also my mom works in Morgantown as a teacher and the superintendent , Mr. Devano, has an annual podcast informing concerned parents about what is going on in their county. I watched it on the website. Tagging is when you put links onto websites.

I looked at Flickr on the internet. It is a website that has a lot of pictures that people add to the sites. I searched WVU football and there were many awesome pictures of WVU players and games.

There are many different computer functions that are invented every day. I think it is important to keep up with all the terms so that we can stay informed.

This video was a bit hard to follow but overall it was pretty interesting. Some of the things in this video are pertinent in my learning experience such as blogging. I have also used wikipedia as a source to look information up. The internet is very helpful and makes the world a small place. The 21st century is helping with this. I viewed a podcast for iTunes. iTunes is where u can download music for your i-pod. You can buy iTunes cards to buy songs. You can also burn CDs with it. Examples of tagging would be free downoads for stuff such as movies or music. Online classes for collage is also an example of tagging. I would say tagging is just advertisments for downloads and other things

I think that this video is very fun and it zooms by super fast. It showed a lot in only a couple of minutes. I just saw what tagging was and what a wiki was. They seem really alike and really different than blogging. They seemed to go by way too fast for me to really read them though. I think that they are very pertinent to my learning experiences. It was like I learned a lot of things in only a short while. I did not get to go to Grammat Girl because I did not really know which website to go to. It probally shows a lot of interesting things in it that have to do with grammar. I will see you on Monday Ms. Constable. Bye.

The ideas in this video are used very much in West Fairmont Middle School. Students use these skills to help in there knowledge. Teachers at WFMS assign projects that make us use wiki sites, or blogs. As you can see these sites are very over used thanks to our teachers. In my option I would rather type then write but when you write the material you are studying sticks in your brain better when you write it. I would like it though if more of our studies are done on paper then on computer, because I love to write. I think the computer is a great advantage, but sometimes we just over use them.

Some of the terms I already knew that were in this video were tagging, blogging, and wiki. You can use tagging on YouTube when you submit a video. You just have to type in words related to your video, and when someone searches for any or all of those words, your video is a search result. Blogging is a way for people to share information online, and a wiki is a collaborative website that can be edited by anyone (hence, wikipedia.) All of this stuff is very important to my learning experience because we live in the 21st century and computer skills are going to be very important in the future.
I went to librarything.com and it seems to be a book cataloging site. Members can add books to their library and find people with similar tastes. I joined it to check it out, because it just seemed cool. I don't think it let you read the books though. Maybe I missed something. The site used tagging, because I chose a book at random and saw it had about 30 tags below it that would have made the book a search result if I had searched for them.
As said before, I found examples of tagging on youtube.com and librarything.com. Almost any site uses it, however, so they can be discovered by people using search engines.

Whew, difficult blog Mrs. Constable! I will try not to wait until Sunday to do the next one.

I have no idea what tagging is so I will have to look up some more stuff later to help me understand it more clearly. I went to a website called EdTechTalk.com , and listened to little recording about blogging. One thing it mentioned was people’s opinions about blogging. I mostly like blogging it just sometimes it makes me think about a subject till my brain hurts. Also I had never heard about grammar girl so I went on YouTube, and it showed her on the news she must really know her grammar she was amazing! I think the terms in the video are pertinent to our learning experiences. Again, we are using one of them right now, blogging. With blogging we can talk about our opinion or feelings about things and can find out what kind of person someone is by what the right or type.
An educational site on this video was Wikpedia. On Wikipedia you can look up all kinds of information and learn many different things. Although Wiki is very helpful it someone told me it could have some false information. I use Wiki to help me with my homework and essays and to find any information that I need.
An example of tagging is del.icio.us. I’m not really sure what tagging is but this example I gave was from the video (at least you know I an example of it!).

She also had tips for cleaning up your writing. She gave examples of correct word usage (for example: " I used to" is correct rather that "I use to". You should say "Different from" instead of "different than." CPAs is correct and CPA’s is wrong. I do not know what tagging is but if I am correct it is like my space, page maker, and sites that bookmark additional sites for more information on a specific topic

I'm sorry this is late, but I was trying to find out more about tagging before I posted. This is one topic I'd love to learn more about.

The terms used in the video were very interesting. It still amazes me how many opportunities for learning and communication have come about in the last 5- 10 years. I did not know how much variety there is in one small portion of the technological world. I learned about many of the new terms by watching this video.
Pertaining to my learning experiences, these terms are very relevant. The terms including blogs and wikis are used almost daily for my education purposes. My educational experience would be completely different if it weren’t for some of the terms listed in the video.
The term, Tagging is a web service to associate an object. It’s like a label. Tagging is often used for sharing, storing, and discovering photos and web bookmarks. Sites such as Tinypic and Photobucket use tagging for online photos. Del.icio.us is a major tagging site for sharing web bookmarks.
I listened to the podcast “Grammar Girl”, episode 76. The podcast contained listeners submitting grammatical questions. The episode I listened to had a woman questioning the correct spelling of threw, through, and thru. Therefore, Grammar Girl explained homophones and informal spelling of words. This pod cast was interesting and informative.

I believe that the terms discussed in this video are real, and should be taught to people of all ages. Most active computer users don't even know what a lot of the terms displayed in broadcast mean. When you really know what is going on, on the internet you get a better perspective for what's actually happening, that you cannot see.
As a student in a 21st century learning environment, my fellow classmates and myself are exposed to most of things shown in the video. Although, websites such as myspace or facebook are prohibited, due to safety issues.
I chose to watch grammar girl. In my opinion grammar girl is a great resource if your not sure if you or some one you know is using correct grammar. Podcasts are just another way to receive or give information, and part of today’s new and improved technology.
The tagging website I went to was called " the library thing." You can make your own catalog for books, to make money off of. You can use as many books as you would like. One tagging website that I found was one for U.S. Cellular.

This was not my favorite video, but it was alright. I have podcast on my new Zune I got for Christmas, but I haven't used it yet. Some of the tagging sites I got from this video were Del.icio.us, Hitchhikr, and TheLibraryThing.

I tried to look up the word pertinent to see what you were talking about, but I didn;t understand the definition of it either. So this is what I'm gonna say. No, this video doesn't really have anything to do with my situation of podcasting.

:D

okayy bye Mrs.Constable.

I liked the video. My favorite thing about it was the tagging part.Ummmm, I found www.zinzin.us, they have free podcasts....Tagging is something to help you search for something else...like for instance, you are watching a video and want to find related videos, you look at the tags and click a categorey. My favorite tagging site is Quizilla. They use tags for everything.
SO SORRY IT WAS LATE!!!!!!!!!!*cries*

The terms in this video were very unique.Blogging is where people publish a post and other people comment it.A pod cast I found was in Spanish. The tagging site I found was librarything.com and it a lot of books from the Library of Congress.

The terms in this video were very cool because I knew exactly what they were. Blogging and Wiki I thought were the most popular. Yes I think that these terms are pertinet in my learning experiences because I use both of them in my everyday life and kids today will need to do them in the future. I have done alot of reaearch on Podcast but I have had experience with them from itunes. I found alot of things but I looked at them a long time ago. I have watched podcasts about speaking Italian and other languages. They were the easiest ones that I could find. I didn't do tagging because I didn't understand it.

I knew some of the terms used in the video such as Blogging and Wiki. I knew what blogging was because I am doing it right now! I knew what a wiki was because of Wikipedia. I believe that these things are pertinent in our learning experiences. I went to the website Del.icio.us and saw that they had a number of podcasts to download and also a number of songs to download. I went to Google and typed in tagging websites and found StumbleUpon on the second page. StumbleUpon has people, pictures, music, and games.

I could guess they are inportant, because you are making us do the blog thing. I could not find a free pod cast and it took my computer 1hr 30min to load the web 2.0 video, so I don't think it could handle another vid. I could not find any examples of tagging, sorry:( .
