What is genocide? What horrors took place during World War II? What are some reminders of the history of that time? What literature reminds us of this time? What movies have you seen that record some of the events of this time period? How can we avoid the mistakes of this era?

It means The deliberate killing of a large group of people, esp. those of a particular ethnic group or nation. In world war II the estimate range from a low of about 50 million to about 80 million people died. We're reminded about it because they teach it in our history classes. I have've seen "The Holocaust" I think that counts.

The term genocide refers to the meaning of very violent crimes committed to groups of people. However, one horrible event that took place during World War II was the holocaust. In my opinion, it was very tradgic, becuase Hitler killed a lot of jewish people, who didn't do anything! In the past, we learned in Social Studies about the horrible events caused during World War II.

A couple literature terms that reminds me of this time is critical and fighting, because this is what happened during this time! In my opinion, I don't like the history channel, but I'm sure that they show a lot of historical shows like that on their channel. We can avoid these mistakes by just helping out other countries, and not having a reason to fight. However, I am not saying just to make up and all be friends, but just to unite and not have a reason to fight. I think this would avoid the mistakes of any era!

Genocide is mass murder of people. The horrors that took place during WW2 included gas chambers, concentration camps, death camps, and much more. We still talk about it and we are reminded how lucky we are that there isn't a Hitler like person in out time. Books that include facts and pictures remind me of these times. A movie that is similar to that era is "The Boy in the Striped Pijamas". We can avoid the mistakes of that era by not letting one person try to take over the world and treat certain races and cultures differently then others!

Genocide is the killing of many people. The horrors of WW2 where the tragedies of the holocaust and the horrors of the killings that took place during the war like D-Day. The reminders of that are the books we read and the things the teachers will teach us about. Books remind of most the holocaust because of all the pictures and facts that they contain. I have seen two movies about the holcaust. The Diary of Anne Frank and the Boy in the Stripped Pajamas which helped me learn a lot about what life was like for the people in the concetration camps. To avoid the mistakes we must treat people right even though they may be different than us. Also, we can not try to fight countries that we have business being in. Everyone will remember th holocaust and the people that died.

Genocide is the murder of entire ethnic group: the systematic killing of all the people from a national, ethnic, or religious group, or an attempt to do this.
I have never seen any movies on it. It is very sad and racsist to me. I don't like what they did to these people. I couldn't ever do that to someone. I don't understand how people can be so cruel and mean to another race, ethnic or religious group. I understand that some people are that way but I couldn't be because I'd feel horrible. How would they like it if it happend to them.

Genocide is the mass murder of a population. Some horrors that occurred during World War II were that certain people were sent to camps where the Nazi's worked people to death or killed them instantly in terrible ways. Before these camps Jews and other people that were inferior to society were executed in public by patrolling soldiers. Some reminders would be when the war was over, the allied nations found these camps and documented, or filmed this for people to see. Some literature of this could be The Diary of Anne Frank and how she stayed in hiding all those years from the Nazi's. Some movies that reflected this could be "Denmark The Escape to Sweden." Some ways we could avoid this tragedy is to bring nations together and accept other traditions.

A genocide is a killing of a large group of people based on how those people are (race, ethnicity, or religion.) Some horrors that took place are gas chambers, concentration camps, basically what happened in the Holocaust. There are museums that remind us what happened. There are also some television shows that show us what happened. An example of literature that reminds us is the diary of Anne Frank. I have not seen any movies that record some of the events of this time period. A way to avoid mistakes like that could be to make sure not just one person is in control of a country, and if there is then it needs to be changed.

Genocide is when you kill your own people. The horrors during World War II include but are not limited to gas chambers, concentration camps, death camps, etc. The reminders of history at that time are everywhere. Television, museums, books, websites, maybe even your grandparents. The literature that reminds us of that time is the Diary of Anne Frank and other records various people kept. In 6th grade we watched The Boy in the Striped Pajama's. That is the only movie I have seen about that topic. We can avoid the mistakes of that era by not murdering people and trying to take over the world. We can also not act stupid and make plans that people won't like. Eventually they will overpower you.

Genocide means to deliberatly put a certain ethnic group into extinction. Multiple horrors took place during world war I, one of the most major being the bombing of three different location. Typical reminders of the time are things like history classes, museums about it, and the sites of major events from the war.Literature that reminds us of that time are things like the diary of Anne Frank, and things like that. I have seen seen no movies with a record of this time period, unless you count indiana jones. One way to avoid mistakes like this is to be carful who you provide power for.

Genocide is when someone kills a group of people because of their ethnic group, heritage, etc. Hitler killed around 100 thousand people during the war. That is one terrible thing to think of that people followed him. The Holocaust museum is Washington D.C us a great reminder of that period. A piece of literature that reminds us of this time period is The Diary of Anne Frank. A movie that reminds me of it us "The Boy and the Striped Pajamas". We can avoid another World War 3 by trying to bring world peace. Everyone needs to be happy with each other.

Genocide was a mass murder that killed a lot of people! Some horrors that went on during this event were the gas chambers, a concentration camp, and a death camp. We are reminded almost every year in some way about World War II and what all happened! One of the main people you here about is Hitler and all the cruel things he did, and all the Jews he killed! Every once in a while you'll see on TV about a murderer that has killed several people and it reminds you of this event and of Hitler! I'm sure there are other ways you can be reminded as well. You can avoid mistakes of this era by not letting people take control over something they shouldn't and stand up for it!

A genocide is where a ruler or someone who has taken power , kills his own people. In World War 2 6 - 8 million Jews were tortured and killed by Adolf Hitler. They were taken and put in concentration camps were worked until they were killed or they were sent to death camps and immediately killed. Some reminders are the people who survived , tell their stories and they have museum and other historical memories involving that time. The war books remind me of that time. I've seen Boy in the Striped Pajamas and The Diary of Anne Frank. We can avoid another era like this by not letting someone take over the world and get away with it.

Genocide was a murder that killed thousands of innocent people and children. Some scary things that happened in Auchwitz were the gas chambers, concentration camps every where, and the worst of all the death camp. The main person behind it all was Adolf Hitler and the evil things he did he killed 6-8 million jews. Once in a while you see murders on television that killed 2-3 people but that was nothing to what hitler did. Dont let people take control that you dont know!

Genocide is killing/murdering many people. One of the many horrible events that took place during the war is the Holocaust. There are several reminders of that time. We read about it in books, magazines, and even on the internet. I've seen several movies that have to do with this time, however I have seen several video games that are similar to the wars. I have also read the story of Anne Frank. We can avoid these mistakes by working together, and not letting anyone take over the world in which will cause another war!

Genocide is the killing of people based on their nationality. The Holocaust when Hitler began killing Jews was one act that happened during World War II. I remember that over 6 to 8 million people dies because of the Holocaust and it was one of the most tragic events in history. This event reminds me of the Boy in The Striped Pajamas and The Diary of Anne Frank. We can avoid this by not judging someone by just what they look like or their nationality.

genocide is the killing of people based on their ethnis group. The Holocaust took place when Hitler killed many Jews so he could control the world starting with Europe. Also, Japan and the U.S. had it out starting with the bombing at Pearl Harbor. Some memories are the pictures left from then and all the people that died during that time. A movie that reminds me of that time is the Diary of Anne Frank. A way to prevent this from happening is to create new systems that can detect killings quickley. This way we can found out where it is and try to stop this from continuing on.

Genocide is when you murder many people at one time. The holocaust and the war of course. The holocaust was probley the biggest remind of the war. I really don't know what literature the time period reminds me of. The movie that reminds me of this period of time is "Saving Private Ryan." I think there is no way to forget this era escpacially the jewish faimly's that had friends and family members that were lost to the holocaust.

A genocide is the mass killing of one race. In this case, Hitler was commiting genocide by killing all of the jews. Many horrors actually took place during world war 2. The Holocaust, Pearl Harbor bombing, and when America dropped an atomic bomb on Japan. Some reminders could be the museams such as the one you see up above in the video. Also they have multiple websites with some amazing facts about WWII. You could do some research on the ship that sunk in PearL Harbor the U.S.S Arizona. There are multiple books, and web articles that you can see online that help you learn some stuff about the war. I have a book all about the holocaust and its important dates in time from the start all the way until Adolf Hitler commited suicide in 1945. There are multiple movies that you can see if you have a DVR. Saving Private Ryan, Pearl Harbor, and many more movies have been released about WWII. Every time I pass the ARMY NETWORK, I see WWII in color and I always stop to watch that. Pretty much, if everybody leaves one another alone, there would not be a threat on Nuclear War

Genocide is the killing of people based on thier on natiinality. Some different horrors that took place during worl war II was Hitler killing many and many jews so he could control the wolrd staring with europe. Some reminders of the history at the time are some pictures and Anne Franks diary. A type of literature that reminds me of this time is conflict along with some suspense. The diary of Anna Frank is a good movie to watch. We can aviod the mistake of this era by not getting invloved or messing with other countries and being our own seperate countries as a whole.

The word genocide means crimes or bad things that are happening to a lot of people. Horrors that took place during World War ll are all the people that died. There where so many bodies, so they had to dig curators to put all the body’s in. We are reminded by this because all our family members who fought in the war and took their life for us. I haven’t seen any really good movies about World War ll. I have seen the movie The Wereth Eleven. It is about eleven solders surviving World War ll. We can avoid mistakes of that era by giving back to the other countries and not trying to fight.

Genocide refers to the mass killing of groups of people, especially of a certain ethnicity or nation. I think the Holocaust was the most horrific part of WW2. During the Holocaust, Adolf Hitler tortured and killed people of the Jewish religion because he believed they were the cause of the loss of WW1. Some of the reminders of the history in that time are museums, books, and the lessons teachers teach us. Some pieces of literature that remind us of this time era are, The Diary of Anne Frank, The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas, and Night. Relating to this topic I have seen the movies "Anne Frank", "The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas", and "Sarah's Key." We can avoid the mistakes of these events by treating everyone as equals, even though they may be very different from us.

Genocide means the killing of a large group of people, especially those of a particular country or nation. Many horrors took place in WW2. Those include the killing of the Jews, Hitler’s rise into power, and Hitler taking over countries in Europe. Books and journals allow us to look back on a bad time in WW2. We are also taught in Social Studies class. I have seen some documentaries on the History channel that show what the life of a soldier was like during the war. There is a series that lasted all day and night that was very interesting.

In my opinion, genocide is the mass persecution of a certain race, religion, class, ethnicity, etc. Sadly, that is exactly what happened during World War ||. When Hitler took over Europe, he killed all the Jews, Gypsies, elders, babies and anyone that wasn't like him. He took them all in concentration camps and made them work, sleep on cold grounds, while simultaneously not even feeding them.
One of the many reminders of this terrible event are the Holocaust museums. They let you actually experience what events happened in the concentration camps. For example, the gas chamber and the hard labor they went through everyday. The literature that reminds of this time is, The Diary Of Anne Frank which tell us what she had to go through while hiding from the Nazi's.
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is a heart- breaking movie, that I've seen, that tells us events that happened during the Holocaust. To avoid the mistakes of the past, we definitely all need to get along and not shun out any kinds of race, religion, of ethnicity.

The word genocide means the violent killing of multiple people at a time. Usually you can say that the "Showers" or gas chambers as we know them, were cases of genocide.
Some of the horrors that took place during WW2 are the multiple concentration camps, death camps, and gas chambers.
Some things that remind us of the history of that time are Musems, books, movies, etc.
One literature and movie that reminds me of WW2 is "The Boy In The Striped Pajamas". Its a very heartfelt story & will always be one of my favorites.
One way we can avoid things like this from happening again is just one word. Fairness. We shouldn't judge or hate people of different races, cultures, religions, etc. We should all be treated equal. No indiviual is not worthy. We all deserve a chance.

A genoside is the purposeful termination of a race or any group really. I've read alot about nazi experi mentation and torture, and from what I understand the gas chambers where a lot better than the fates some people suffered. The gas chambers were reserved for those who were unfit for manual labor. The Germans would tell the people that they were taking a shower to prevent panic then the fake shower heads would spray out toxic gasses that were actually used as pesticideds. Experimentation was done with out anistedics and usualy resulted in death. Twins were often experimented on they would be shaved, measured, photographed, and the given a shot of chlorophl in the heart. After that they were disected and sent to labs. There were then the cold and hot treatments, the nazis wanted to see how long different races could stand extreme heat and cold. Many were sripped and strapped down to a board, the lowered in to ice water or left in the snow. The heat treatments worked the same way only victims were places under sun lamps. one jew forced to work in the labs described a man with smoke rising off his skin under the lamp. I trust that if this were to happen again it it would be stopped a little more quickly.

Genocide is the extermination of national, racial, or political group. In World War II, the Nazis killed several Jews because of their religion. They believed that they were the causes for many of the world’s problems. They either killed or sent the Jews to concentration camps and made them work several long hours of labor. Anne Frank’s diary is a great reminder of that horrible time. Also the constant reminder of those who died in that time, reminds us of our mistakes. I have seen, “Anne Frank,” and, “The Boy in Striped Pajamas.” They are both very sad movies that I wish I could erase from my memory. If we learn not to judge others, we could avoid making the same mistakes over and over again.

Reminders of the history back then can be pictures, stories, or diagrams. The literature that reminds us of this time is usually autobiographies, biographies, or informative essays. The movies I’ve seen of this time period is The Boy In Striped Pajamas and Schindler’s List. Schindler’s list was the worst movie I’d seen in my life. We can avoid this by not forgetting.

Genocide is the purposeful mass murder a gruop of people based on race, religion, sexuality, or other minor thing such as hair and eye color. Horrors during World War II were things like the Holocaust andthe bombing at Pearl Harbor. Reminders of that time include memorials, living people, museums, and articles from the past. "The Diary of Anne Frank" is probably the most prominent literature from that time. I haven't seen any movies about this time period, but I would like to and I hear they are good, but sad. We can avoid the mistakes by excepting everybody for who they are, and not judging them based on how they dress, who they like, what they look like, and how they act.

I think that genocide is the killing of a vast amount of peopple in an area. During WWII, a ton of Jewish people were killed by a lot of German soldiers. They killed simply because they did not look like them. That is wrong on so many different levels. There are a ton of pictures drawn and taken at the concentration camps. These stories and pictures are horrific and disgusting. How can someone be so desensatized? The diary entries of Anne Frank, relive what she has to go through while in hiding. This piece of literature still lives on today. I have seen multiple movies about the Holocaust. They include: "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas," and "The Diary of Anne Frank." They were both really good. I even cried a bunch watching both movies. They were very well portrayed and the visualizations were probably spot on. As you obviously know, I am mulatto. If the germans were against me, I know I would not like it. I feel that being born what you are shouldn't be you're fault. There is not right in the world to kill someone because they are a certain religon and/or race. Avoiding the mistakes are not easy. Hitler's hatred should've been handled by a counselor. Also, the U.S.A. should have gone over to Europe way before Pearl Harbor's attack. This would'nt have killed so many people if the U.S.'s military would have waken up to realize this is our allies here, we cannot let them be hurt.

Genocide is the mass murder of people based on their race, ethnicity, religion, etc. The killing of 7,000,000 to 8,000,000 jews took place during world war two, and the deaths of millions of soldiers. The concentration camps are a reminder of this time. Anne Frank's diary is an example of literature that reminds us of this time. Some movies I've seen that record these events include "Valkeryie", and "The Boy in Striped Pajamas". To avoid these mistakes, we could learn more about how these mistakes were made then.

The word genocide means the violent killing of a group of people. The horrors that took place during World War II were the killing of the Jews, and also the murders of all the people that fought during the war. There are many books that are based on these horrible events. I have seen the movies "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" and "The Diary of Anne Frank." I think that to avoid any mistakes people all need to unite. They do not all have to become great friends, they just need to be considerate of others. Also people need to quit judging people for any reason. There are many of other ways we could avoid mistakes though.

Gocide is the killing of a large group of people. Some horrors include the Holocaust, and the bombing at Pearl Harbor. I am often reminded of this in Social Studies becasue it is a key part in our history. Some literature that involves this subject is "The Diary of Anne Frank". However, I have not seen any movies that resemble this subject. We can avoid this kind of horrible accident by not giving any one person too much power. The government needs to share the power among several people or groups. Exactly like our government is set up. If it is like this aroung the world we have a better chance of avoiding this terrible thing.

Genocide is killing your own kind
over millons of jews were killed in concentration camps. They were killed in many ways like gas chambers. And it is all because of Hitler hated jewish people. We could find peace someday so something like that doesn't happen again

Genocide is the killing of a certain group of people. During WW2, Pearl Harbor was bombed and the Holacaust took place in Europe. Some reminders of the history would be the book called ''The Diary of Anne Frank'', and a movie called ''The Boy in the Striped Pjamas''. I've seen the movies: "The Boy in the Striped Pjamas" and "The Diary of Anne Frank". We can avoid the mistakes of this era by not letting one person have to much power, a dictatorship.

A genocide is where a ruler or someone who has taken power , kills his own people. The horrors of World War 11 were te killing of 7 to 8 million people. Some of the reminders were the skin lampshade.A couple literature terms that reminds me of this time is critical and fighting, because this is what happened during this time! In my opinion, I don't like the history channel, but I'm sure that they show a lot of historical shows like that on their channel. The movie of the Holocoust told about everything the concentration camps and the death camps.

Gocide is a mass of people getting killed. Just like the hallicost. when over 8 million people were killed. I am often reminded of this in Social Studies becasue it is a key part in our history. Its not cool to kill anyone like in the hallicost. He only wonted people that were healthy, and not the ones that were not healthy and he did not wont kids either. We can avoid this kind of horrible accident by not giving any one person too much power. Sometimes when that happens people will killed or getting made to wore to death. I dont want that to happen to me or anyone.

Genocide is the mass killing of a particular race. In World War II the Holocaust occured. Hitler was trying to kill every person of Jewish decent so he could take over the world. I have seen "The Sound of Music". In this movie, Hitler is trying the get the dad to be a German officer and he refuses. He and his family run away so Hitler won't kill them. We can take a stand against problems before they get out of control.
