Fun fact, Hemingway went on safari to Africa, where he was almost killed in two successive plane crashes. I love to read so much! There are some pretty good books out there, but my top 5 favorite would have to be, "The Catcher in the Rye", "Fahrenheit 451", "The Great Gatsby", "Perks of Being a Wallflower", and "It's Kind of a Funny Story". These books are by J.D. Salinger, Ray Bradbury, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Stephen Chbosky, and Ned Vizzini. These books are very interesting, and I highly recommend. Although those are my favorite books, my favorite author would have to be Stephan King. I would describe his books as horror. He made the book, "Carrie", which is about a girl with a very religious mother, she is asked to the prom by a popular kid. The teachers think that this is a joke and they are going to prank her. It turns out that they do prank her. Earlier in the story we find out that she has these telekinesis powers. After they pour pigs blood on her at the prom she kills all of the people at the prom. King also created the book "The Shining". It was created in 1977, it is King's third published novel and first hardback bestseller. My favorite movie would have to be "The Fault in Our Stars". It was made after the book written by John Green. My favorite TV series would have to be "Awkward', written by Lauren Lungerich. It first came out in July, 2011. I also like " The Walking Dead" by Frank Darabont, and "American Horror Story", by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. "The Walking Dead" was actually a comic book before it was a TV series. The TV series, "American Horror Story", has a different plot in each season with the same cast. The plot is usually in a different location. For instance, this one is set in a Freak Show.

One fact not mentioned in this video about Ernest Hemingway is that he hated his mother. Keep in mind that books are like my drugs so picking a favorite author and book is difficult. For now I'll list some. I love the Mortal Instruments series and Infernal Devices series, both by Cassandra Clare. I also like the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth, Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins, Safe Haven and The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks. My current series I'm obsessed with is the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyers. All the books I've named are more of a modern type of writing, but they are all young adult. I would love if everyone read these books and if you ever get bored, just read. I do read older books occasionally like Sherlock Holmes. I always liked mystery and what better way than to read about the best detective of all time? My favorite movie would probably be Up or The Fault in Our Stars. Up was written by Pete Docter, Bob Peterson, and Thomas McCarthy. Of course The Fault in Our Stars is by John Green, but I didn't read the book. I don't watch too many TV shows, but I do like The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith, but directed by Julie Plec. Overall, writing is universal. Even people who hate books will love at least one. Keep reading and never stop.

I do agree that Hemingway is one of the greatest authors of all time, and he should totally get more recognition. One of the facts that people don’t know about is that before his death, he received electroconvulsive therapy.

I do not have a favorite author in particular, but my favorite book is The Lord of the Flies. My favorite movie is The Matrix.

The Lord of the Flies was written by William Golding. Golding received 2 prizes ( The Booker and Nobel Prize for literature) for his work, although it is great, and I recommend it. It is about a large group of boys who get stuck on an Island when their plane crashes, and create a civilization, which slowly deteriorates into animalism.

The Lord of the Flies was Golding’s greatest novel, just as A Farewell to Arms was Hemingway's best novel.

A fact not mentioned in the video is that Ernest Hemingway survived through anthrax, malaria, pneumonia, skin cancer, hepatitis, diabetes, two plane crashes (on consecutive days), a ruptured kidney, a ruptured spleen, a ruptured liver, a crushed vertebra, a fractured skull, and many more. In the end, the only thing that could kill Hemingway it would seem was himself.
My favorite author, without a doubt, is John Green. His works are so compelling and honest, it’s as if he knows me. Every one of his books, I can relate to because they’re deep. His books mirror people’s feelings and reflect their truths.
My favorite books are An Abundance of Katherines and Paper Towns, both by John Green. In an Abundance of Katherines, it shows how people can move on, no matter how hard it is to do so. In Paper Towns, it explains how you can never really be someone, which makes you doubt if you even know them, and that not everything is what you want it to be.
I don’t really have a favorite movie; I have a lot of them, but I like Now You See Me, same as Alli. It’s really attention-grabbing and funny. And my favorite TV series is either The Big Bang Theory, written by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, or Modern Family, written by Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd. Both the screenwriters, in both the shows, are also the producers. ~Karinna Fazenbaker 6&7

One rare fact that hasn't been mentioned yet is that after Hemingway left his journalistic career, which lasted only six short months, he responded to an ad for Red Cross recruitment effort taking place in Kansas City. He was signed on to become an ambulance driver in Italy. He left cozy New York in May, then arrived in the city of Paris right as the city was being fired upon by the Germans with various artillery. By June, he arrived on the Italian front. His first day in Milan was an eventful one. A munitions factory exploded and he was sent to retrieve the female workers' shredded remains. His nonfiction work titled "Death In the Afternoon" described it like this, "I remember that after we searched quite thoroughly for the complete dead we collected fragments." After a few days' time, he was stationed in Fossalta di Piave. Later, while he was returning from the canteen bringing chocolate and cigarettes, he was seriously wounded by mortar fire. He assisted the other Italian soldiers to safety, even though he was badly wounded by shrapnel on both his legs. He was only 18 years of age when this incident occurred. What he said afterwards about it is remarkable and very true, "When you go to war as a boy you have a great illusion of immortality. Other people get killed; not you ... Then when you are badly wounded the first time you lose that illusion and you know it can happen to you." He was wise even at that young age.

My favourite author would have to be a list of them. First on it is Elizabeth Chandler, for her amazing work titled "The Back Door of Midnight," and her other works that all share one common essential to writing; detail, and lots of it. The second on my list would likely be Laurie Halse Anderson, mainly for her composition called, "The Impossible Knife of Memory." This has deep, insightful words that permeate deep into thought processes and common factors in our consciousness that all humans share. It is very deep and hauntingly real; it's a wonder this book is fiction! It makes you hunt in the unfathomable, abstruse, esoteric shadows of your soul for paraphernalia you would have never fantasized nor imagined you would. The third and final place on my list of the greatest authors I have read is Richie Tankersley Cusick, who wrote the haunting, evocative and downright eerie novel, "Walk of the Spirits." These are the most exceptional novels I have read to date, and the most exceptional authors I have read. I'll let you know when I find more, as I'm sure I shall, given how much I read in a week (up to five books). Also, I may have forgotten one. The book I did the most recent book report on. "The Witch of Blackbird Pond," by Elizabeth George Speare. Some say it is boring, but it quickly picks up, and once it does oit will never let go. Also note that this does not include series of books that I have read. There is a whole separate list for those ones. Also, I don't watch much television or movies, as there are no films out and about lately (including older ones on television). The difference is a film has culture and class. A movie is anything slapped together in somebody's basement, spent millions on, and then aired all over America to become some more of the trash we view each day, not only piling high in our landfill and on our sidewalks and national places of nature, but also in the things we view day in and day out for cheap, low-class and no-culture "entertainment", and in our own selves and the people around us. But that's a rant for another time.

Ernest Hemingway (1899-1961) born in Oak Park, Illinois, started his career as a writer in a newspaper office in Kansas City at the age of seventeen. After the Untied States entered the First World War, he joined a volunteer ambulance unit in the Italian army. Serving at the front, he was wounded, was decorated by the Italian Governemet, and spent considerable time in the hospitals. I really don't have a favorite author. I have read a lot of books and my favorite would have to be dramas or mysterious crimes. My favorite movie is "If I Stay". It's a love story (kinda). It's really sad too. R.J Cutler is the director of the movie. I don't really have a favorite tv series either.
