These lyrics in MLA format is Perfectly Imperfect, Grace Vanderwaal. And these lyrics in parenthetical citation is Perfectly Imperfect (Grace Vanderwaal).

Citation is very important. You have to give the author credit for what they say. The song I'm doing is "Twinkle twinkle little star". The lyrics come from a poem that Jane Taylor wrote int he early 1800s. If I was putting those lyrics in MLA format on a works cited page I would put: Taylor, Jane. "Twinkle twinkle little star". 1800s. If I was showing it in parenthetical citation I would put it like this: Twinkle twinkle little star (Taylor). There are a lot of ways to cite a reference. It depends on what it is and what information you have on it.

Citation is important when you borrow words from another author and need to give credit. A song that I'm going to use is the national anthem. the lines can be written like "By the Dawns early light"(Hendrix) but If I change a few words, then it'll look like: Like the early, dawns light (Hendrix).

Citations are something everyone should put in their writing to get their points across a bit better. There are many ways to make a citation. My favorite song is Be a King by eDubble. The quote I chose is "It's okay to sing when things hurt but don't forget your dreams, cuz they'll get you through this" (eDubble). in parenthetical citation form. I like that lyric because it means to never forget your dreams no matter how much people tell not to.

My favorite song lyrics currently are from "Girl Loves Me" on David Bowie's last and twenty-fifth album, Blackstar. Why I like them is that the song incorporates a large dose of the made-up gibberish showcased in, in my opinion, one of the all-time best films, Stanley Kubrick's Clockwork Orange, and I thought that that was very creative. In MLA, the lyrics would be cited as: Bowie, David. "Blackstar." Party up mood, naddy vellocet round on Tuesday/Real bad dizzy snatch making all the homies mad, Thursday/Popo blind to the polly in the hole by Friday. Blackstar. RCA, 2016. For using in-text citations, it would be as: "Girl Loves Me" (Bowie), as does the rest of the album, has an overall dark theme in contrast to many of his previous albums due to his situation at the time of being terminally-ill, which is party alluded by the lines "Party up mood, naddy vellocet round on Tuesday/Real bad dizzy snatch making all the homies mad, Thursday/Popo blind to the polly in the hole by Friday."
