How different are the expreesions of the SS officers in comparison to the captured Jews in the album? Why is their happiness seen as so appaling? How can they dance, vacation, and sing while others are being murdered?
This entire video was very disturbing to me. It is so hard to believe that the officers of Auschwitz could smile and act like nothing was wrong when they were killing innocent people! The expressions are so different because the officers are having a good time and living a good life, while the Jewish people they captured are starving and they know they are going to die. Their happiness is seen as so appaling because they seem perfectly happy about what they are doing, like it is just another everyday job. They even require a resort to recooperate from what they are doing and it is in the very place where innocent people's lives are being taken! They don't even seem to care or understand the consequences of what they were doing! They acted so indifferent to what they were doing because they just didn't care. As the pictures displayed, there is an extreme difference in the photos of the SS Officers and of the Jews. The SS Officers are carrying on and having a good time while the Jews barely have a face. The only way human beings could tolerate committing a crime so huge and not think twice about it, is if the was some good associated with it. Hitler was a brilliant man. The expressions on the faces of the officers is disturbing as they seem content, then smiling, having fun, laughing. How can people enjoy seeing torture and being apart of mass deaths. The expressions of the Jews in the pictures are of sorrow, fear, loneliness, sadness and anger. There faces show complete opposite expressions of the officers. It makes us think how “sick” these officers could be to enjoy or seem to enjoy their jobs of killing. They were probably all brain washed, they were instructed and probably forced to believe that nothing was wrong with the horrible things they were doing to the Jews. The officers were sick minded and had no conscience of human life. The officers believed that their lives and beliefs were all that mattered in “their” world.
The captured Jews all look terrified and it is very disturbing to see a happy-go-lucky SS officer directing them into their camps. It is very hard to think that someone who looks just like an everyday person could be so much like a monster inside. To be able to smile and enjoy their job is very astounding and quite scary. People don’t like to think that someone could be capable of doing something so terrible, but for them to being doing something terrible and to enjoy it is disgusting. I don’t understand how these people can mock the Jews and not feel bad about doing it,only they with have to live with that guilt.

I didn't really like this video, the officers were kind of two faced in a way because they would act like nothing happened, right afetr they just killed an inocent person. I think there is a word for people like this but I will refrain from using it. These people were smiling almost as if they were happy killing the Jews or maybe it didn’t matter. Maybe they took it like a job. But that is completely inappropriate. Killing people isn’t a job. It’s a terrible thing, and even more terrible if the were proud of it. The Jewish people on the other hand look starved, exhausted, scared, and hurt. Like I stated earlier their happiness is appalling because they are killing people and maybe enjoying or at least they think it is normal. That is completely disgusting in my opinion and I know I am not alone in this thought. They can be happy because they are either extremely self-centered or too afraid to say or do anything about it.

It is a crying shame that anyone could enjoy them selves in a place like Aushwitz. It makes me wonder what kind of person it takes to come up with the idea to put a German officer resort inside the grounds of a death camp. On one side of the barbed wire fence you have SS officers smileing and having a good time, and on the other side you have people suffering and dieing of starvation. Its appaling to think that anyone can have a good time as they sit in relaxation above a place were inesent people suffer and die each day. Maybe they find that the task they are performing is a good thing. That the jewish people have wronged them in some way. The scary thing is, everyone is physically capable of this unjust act. The nice thing is that not everyone is psychologicly capable.

The expressions are different because the SS offcers faces were innocent and akward.It was bad how they just sat there and killed people and played as if they were not guilty.And they Jews looked as if they were starving and they knew that they were going to die.Their happiness is seen as appaling because of the way they they tourtered and killed the Jews.They could dance, vacation, and sing while others were being merdered because they weren't the ones being tourtured and they knew they weren't the ones that were going to be killed.

As the pictures displayed, there is an extreme difference in the photos of the SS Officers and of the Jews. The SS Officers are carrying on and having a good time while the Jews barely have a face. The happiness of the SS Officers is so appalling because they were committing mass murder. The only way human beings could tolerate committing a crime so huge and not think twice about it, is if the was some good associated with it. Hitler was a brilliant man. He gave the SS Officers the high life with parties on weekends, vacation suites, and dances. In conclusion, while millions were dying the SS Officers were having fun. This only happened because Hitler had such a disregard for human life that he not only killed millions but brainwashed people to do it for him.

The expressions on the faces of the officers is disturbing as they seem content, then smiling, having fun, laughing. How can people enjoy seeing torture and being apart of mass deaths. It makes us think how “sick” these officers could be to enjoy or seem to enjoy their jobs of killing. The captured Jews all look terrified and it is very disturbing to see a happy-go-lucky SS officer directing them into their camps. It is very hard to think that someone who looks just like an everyday person could be so much like a monster inside. To be able to smile and enjoy their job is very astounding and quite scary. People don’t like to think that someone could be capable of doing something so terrible, but for them to being doing something terrible and to enjoy it is disgusting. I don’t understand how these people can mock the Jews and not feel bad about doing it,only they with have to live with that guilt.
I think the officers thought that they were doing a good think but they really wasn't by killing the people. They seemed calmed to me. They do this because so they don't have to stay sad that they killed them people I think they were upset they juss got hired to do this job.

The officers had a very easy time there and they had a place that they could go and relax at along which private quarters and good food. Their happiness is disturbing because they where the people that tortured and killed the jews,and the fact that they all could have a good time while doing that is the disturbing thing.
All they had to do to have a good time while the others were getting killed was to simpling go to their recreation area that was out of view of the camp.

The officers are smiling and laughing, just like the Jews would be if they were free to live their lives the way they should be. The officers are so happy with what they are doing, when in reality, they are taking the lives of innocent people away, just because they have different beliefs. The Jews are so upset, they know that they could be killed anyday.
You could never tell that the officers are killing people, because they seem so normal. They just act like nothing is going on.
I'd hate to say it like this, but these officers are heartless. They have no concern that they are killing people. All they care about is having fun and doing everything THEIR way. They believe that everyone should be the same and everyone should believe in the same things. Which is not true, because the Earth would be a boring place with no diversity.

The first time I saw this video I was disgusted but then I realized when Hitler asks you do something why would you say no? The SS officers were joyous and happy but the Jews were sad and depressed. The SS officers were killing Jews in the morning and partying by night, while the Jews were working to death and wondering If they would be the next ones gassed. It is so appalling because they were gassing people and parting in the same day! I don't know how they can have fun killing other human beings.

The SS officers expressions show that they are having a good time and having fun. The captured Jews expressions show that they do not know what is going to happen next and they are scared to death because of all the bad things they have experienced and have heard about.
The SS Officers’ happiness is seen as appalling because they appear as normal as you and I who at one moment are having a great time and enjoying themselves, when they are killing people during the day and partying at night. It is difficult for me to imagine how they could dance, vacation, sing, and goof off while we know what type of “monsters” they were toward the Jews whom they murdered.
This really makes me more leary of whether people are as good as they appear.
This video out of all the videos has been the most horrifying to me. It just tore away at my nerves. The expressions of the officers were jolly and happy like they were enjoying taking people's lives. They have gourmet dinners while the captured jews had bread and broth. The jews starved while the officers swam in gluttony. The happiness of the officers astonishes me because i don't know how poeple that are demolishing and destroying people everyday can live a happy life. I didn’t like this video because of the officers. They acted like they didn’t even have hearts or didn’t understand that what they were doing so badly. I don’t understand why they acted the way they did when they knew that people were dying and they were the ones doing the murdering and they can just dance and eat while others are starving and dying.
I think there is a word for people like this but I will refrain from using it. These people were smiling almost as if they were happy killing the Jews or maybe it didn’t matter. Maybe they took it like a job. But that is completely inappropriate. Killing people isn’t a job. It’s a terrible thing, and even more terrible if the were proud of it. The Jewish people on the other hand look starved, exhausted, scared, and hurt. Like I stated earlier their happiness is appalling because they are killing people and maybe enjoying or at least they think it is normal. That is completely disgusting in my opinion and I know I am not alone in this thought. They can be happy because they are either extremely self-centered or too afraid to say or do anything about it.

I think it is horrendous how so little compassion for the humans in the concentration camps is shown, especially while the SS are goofing off and having a jolly time.
I think as humans they have some right to seen happy, but not while this mass murder is going on. They are killing many humans that did nothing to them at all. They should be more serious and honorable to their job and profession. I think it is appalling in the photographs that pictures them laughing while in front of the Jews that are awaiting their demise.
They have absolutely no right to sing, laugh, dance, and vacation. But, on the other hand this is a photo album and most people don’t keep angry or serious photos in albums. Photo albums are made to remember good times. Although, don’t get me wrong I am not taking up for the officers in any sense.

I do not know how the SS officers can dance, vacation, and sing while the poor helpless Jews are being murdered. I think that the SS officers must have been very sick and twisted people to have done so.

It is a crying shame that anyone could enjoy them selves in a place like Aushwitz. It makes me wonder what kind of person it takes to come up with the idea to put a German officer resort inside the grounds of a death camp. On one side of the barbed wire fence you have SS officers smileing and having a good time, and on the other side you have people suffering and dieing of starvation.
Its appaling to think that anyone can have a good time as they sit in relaxation above a place were inesent people suffer and die each day. Maybe they find that the task they are performing is a good thing. That the jewish people have wronged them in some way. The scary thing is, everyone is physically capable of this unjust act. The nice thing is that not everyone is psychologicly capable.
