World War II was a terrible thing that should not have happened. Adolf Hitler wanted to keep the Aryan race the only people alive in the world. I would have fit into this race. The things he did to people, especially Jews was horrific. Nobody deserves to be put to work until killed, or just killed if you were a child, elderly, woman, or disabled or deformed. Hitler killed 11 million people, which 6 million were Jewish. The Jewish people did nothing wrong. I do not know why he chose to kill mainly Jews but I would like to know. I also do not know why he wanted to only have the Aryan race.

One of the bloodiest wars is World War II, which lasted from 1939–1945. The two dates most often mentioned as “the beginning of World War II” are July 7, 1937, when the “Marco Polo Bridge Incident” led to a prolonged war between Japan and China, and September 1, 1939, when Germany invaded Poland, which led Britain and France to declare war on Hitler's Nazi state in retaliation. Then U.S got involved in the war when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor on Sunday morning, December 7, 1941. Pearl Harbor is located Honolulu, Hawaii. At that time the president of United States is Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and the commander of Germany is Adolf Hitler. West Virginia got involved in the war because WV bombed and sank in Pearl Harbor. A total of 5,830 West Virginians was killed in the war. The war is fought on land, in the air, and on oceans. On one side were the Axis Powers, including Germany, Italy and Japan. On the other side were the Allies. They included Britain, France, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, India, the Soviet Union, China and the United States of America. Around 15,000,000 soldiers died in battle during the war and plus on the military death, then it will be around 22,000,000 to 30,000,000. World War II, one of the terrifying wars.

Pearl Harbor is located in Hawaii. The Unites States president during World War Two was Franklin Delano Roosevelt. We were surprised by the attack on Pearl Harbor because the United States made Pearl Harbor the main base for its Pacific Fleet, but the Pearl Harbor attack had failed its objective to completely destroy the Pacific Fleet. West Virginia was involved in the war because WV bombed and sank in the Pearl Harbor. A total of 5,830 West Virginians were sadly killed in the war. World war 2 was the absolute worst thing that has ever happened. It was horrible because a lot of people suffered from it. Pearl Harbor is a lagoon harbor on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, west of Honolulu. It has been long visited by the Naval fleet of the United States before it was acquired from the Hawaiian Kingdom by the U.S. with the signing of the Reciprocity Treaty of 1875. The first US president was Franklin D. Roosevelt. 1861, West Virginia began the Secessionist Convention that would result in its breaking away from the Confederate state of Virginia, the only state to form by seceding from a Confederate state and one of three states to secede from another state. It was a key Civil War "border state." A total of 5,830 West Virginians were killed in World War II. The main combatants were the Axis powers (Germany, Italy, and Japan) and the Allies (France, Great Britain, the United States, the Soviet Union, and, to a lesser extent, China).

It all began when Japan was attacking China while they were going through their Civil war. But, over in Europe there was a new leader becoming stronger and stronger building an army. His name was Adolf Hitler, he was a commander in the Nazi party. He first in invaded Czechoslovakia in March 1939 they over took Bohemia a village in Czechoslovakia. Then, he began to thrive for power he invaded Poland on September 1st just 7 months later! That’s when France, Great Britain, and Russia started to get worried. By that time Japan and China were already at war, and Hitler was liking that so he and Japan along with Italy teamed up to be known as the “Axis Powers”. Then, on a nice warm morning of December 7th, 1941 Japan attacked and destroyed Pearl Harbor our Hawaiian naval base they sank 18 ships and killed 2000, and wounded 1000! That’s when our acting president Franklin D. Roosevelt at the time declared war on Japan. As, this was happening Hitler grew stronger and stronger he invaded the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Denmark, Norway, and France in just one year! As we were fighting Japan, our allies Great Britain, France, and Russia were fighting Germany. We fought for years until we decided to hide our ships behind Wales and over the next few nights slowly drifted into France. It is June 6th, 1944 156,000 troops are storming the beaches of Normandy but we didn’t know that the Germans were waiting for us there they were up top on the cliff while we were coming out of the water, in just one day half our troops died 73000 body’s were just laying there on the beaches! After, we over took the ridge we made our way through France. While we were fighting back home we were building the atom bomb or atomic bomb! Which has a blast radius of 8 kilometers! On, September 2nd 1945 we dropped the atom bomb on the city of Nagasaki,Japan which ended the war.

Pearl Harbor was a naval base on the coast of Hawaii. During the time, the United States president was Franklin D Roosevelt. The U.S was surprised by this attack because we thought we were far enough away that we wouldn't be or get involved. West Virginia sent in about 230,000 troops to the front lines. And also West Virginia sent a lieutenant that received the surrender of Japan surrender of the Philippines. Also West Virginia sent in about 2000 woman into war the war. Out of those 230,000 troops that were sent in, about 5830 soldiers died in world war 2. Most of the fighting in world war 2 was fought in Germany,Italy, and Japan, which were the Axis powers. And the other countries were France,Great Britain, the U.S,the Soviet Union, and a small bit of China. These were the Allies. World War 2 was a terrible tragedy. It should have never happened and is the worst thing that has ever happened to the world. 11 Million people died, and 6 million of them were Jews. During the war the president was Franklin Roosevelt and they were surprised when they got attacked because the British kept on asking us to help them in the war but the president said no but we still gave them medical supplies and other things they were short on until the Japanese tried to take over Hawaii then we were like no way and we joined and the reason we were surprised was because we didn't think we were ever going to need to join the war. How WV played a role in WW2 was all are coal for the ships trains and machines they were using during that time and that's the reason my great grandpa didn't half to go was because he was a coal miner and there were 305325 deaths of West Virginian's. The war was fought in mostly Europe but it was also fought in other areas.

The United Stated wasn’t really expecting any attacks because our country was minding our own business and independently decided to stay out of the war and continue to build our country. However, Japan had other ideas for America. Once Japan attacked the U.S., we decided we needed to fight back. They became a part of The Allies, which consisted of Great Britain, Germany, the U.S., France (the formsr Soviet Union), and China. Five thousand, eight hundred thirty West Virginians were killed in World War Two. World War || was one of the most Bloodiest wars out there. Over 75 million people died in the war. The only reason this happened was because of Adolf Hitler. Hitler was to get rid of the Jews altogether. So he sent millions of them to concentration camps and death camps. They either got sent straight to the gas chambers because they couldn’t work, or they were sent to the field to work. During WW2 Japan bombed the islands of Pearl Harbor, which was our US Naval Base. The President at the time was Franklin Roosevelt. We were surprised by the attack because Germany and the other counties wee fighting, as well as Japan, was fighting other countries for Germany too, so we figured that they were focused to on helping Germany and not the US. I think it was a mistake to join the war late. We could have saved millions of lives that way and the war would have ended sooner. If we took Hitler out sooner, we wouldn't have had a war. If Japan didn't bomb pearl harbor, we wouldn't have to drop two atom bombs on them. Just because Roosevelt want to stay out of war, we didn't do anything. But when they bombed Hawaii, they took it to far and so we joined World War 2.

Pearl Harbor is a U.S. naval base near Honolulu, Hawaii, that was the scene of a devastating surprise attack by Japanese forces on December 7, 1941. Just before 8 a.m. on that Sunday morning, hundreds of Japanese fighter planes descended on the base, where they managed to destroy or damage nearly 20 American naval vessels, including eight battleships, and over 300 airplanes. More than 2,400 Americans died in the attack, including civilians, and another 1,000 people were wounded. The day after the assault, President Franklin D. Roosevelt asked Congress to declare war on Japan. World War II was fought far from West Virginia and the United States, but that doesn’t mean that the Mountain State wasn’t affected by the war.
