The first simile I found was, "Im gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket." It is by Fergie in the song, "Big Girls Dont Cry." I found another simile in the song, "Shine Bright Like A Diamond" written by Rihanna. The simile is in the title of the song, and it is, "Shine bright like a diamond." The first metaphor I saw was, " Baby your a firework" in the song, "Firework" by Katy Perry. I found the second metaphor in Miley Cyrus's lyrics, "There's always gonna be another mountain" in the song, "The Climb." Finally, the last metaphor is, "My heart's a stereo" written by Gym Class Heroes in the song, "Stereo Heart."

One of the first metaphors I thought of was in Bob Seeger's "Like A Rock". Another metaphor is in Billy Joel's "Piano Man" when he says "They sit at the bar and put bread in my jar." A simile is when he says "The piano, it sounds like a carnival." The entire song "Every Rose Has its Thorn" (Right song here: https://g.co/kgs/Sm8yzh ) is a simile, as well as the song "Candle in the Wind". Another good metaphor song is Elvis Presley's "Hound Dog". Yet another song is "Another One Bites the Dust". All of these are either similes or metaphors.

My song is Roar by Katy Perry. The first line that involves a simile in Roar is the title it’self. Meaning don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself and it’s a must you do so in life. She also goes on saying she no longer has to bite her you he and can now speak for herself. It talks about a tiger aswell most likely meaning that when she roars it means she is takelong her fears head on.Katy goes on to say how she had to fumble mumble and jumble even stop her words but when the roar is finally opened to her eyes she can now that she is her own person more independent and confident. Like the eye of the tiger, which symbolizes her fight to be her own person . She also said her vice will be as loud as thunder and that she’s a champion. Thunder meaning that she is finally speaking out for herself. And champion meaning that she has finally conquered her fear of facing and being her own person.

One Of The Metaphors was by Gym Class Heroes: Stereo Hearts ft. Adam Levine the metaphor was make me your radio. Also another metaphor was make me your radio. Its telling the listeners that they are not alone. Those are metaphors. A Metaphor is a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable.

For my song, I choose “Centuries” by Fall Out Boy. They have many metaphors including “You’re a cherry blossom”, “......I am the opposite of amnesia”, and “He’s the chosen fruit”. The song is about figuring out what you are gonna do with your life and how you’re going to do it. Also in the song “Thunder”, by Imagine Dragons, there are also a few metaphors like “Just a young gun with a quick fuse” and “I was lighting before the thunder”. These are just a few examples of the many metaphors and similes in many songs. Similes and metaphors are very useful when it comes to making songs.

The first simile I found in my song “Burn” by Ellie Goulding was “Light it up like we’re the starts of the human race, human race.” This simile is telling you that you can shine as bright as you want. Another song I chose was “Shine bright like a diamond” by Rihanna this was also a simile, and just like my last song it telling to shine bright and don’t stop. The 3rd one I chose was “Just Like Fire” this song is from pink. It’s an example of a simile because it says “Just Like Fire, Buring Out the Way,” Then the 4th one I chose was “Dangerous Woman” by Ariana Grande, she sings “Something about you makes me feel like a dangerous woman” this song is an example of a simile the lyrics means that no woman needs to attach her self to a man if her name is already being heard. Last but not least the 5th song I chose was “Stitches” by Shawn Mendes, this is an example of a Simile. Shawn sings “Just like a Moth Drawn to a Flame,” this is about how you can get lured in and not feel the true pain.

My first metaphor is from the song "Waterfalls" by T.L.C " Don't go chasing waterfalls" which mean to not do things that could hurt you or other just for your intent. another metaphor is from the song "Take Me To Church" Hozier " I'll worship like a god man" It shows how much he wants to go to church. "No Diggity" by Blackstreet and Dr. Dre "Attracting honeys like a magnet" He's talking about how much of a chick magnet he is and how much women love him. Similes and metaphors are everywhere in music and every genre too you just have to listen.

He was talking about someone who is a poser and is not there self. The last on is Stir Fry by Migos. "Life is Monopoly". He is saing he owns everything.

In the song 'In My Blood' my Shawn Mendes it says 'help me, its like the walls are craving in' This simile is referring to a bad time in his life that it seemed like things were collapsing or craving in. Another Shawn Mendes song is 'Stitches' and it says 'your words cut deeper than a knife' The reason he put this in a song is because he is saying the things she is saying is hurting him like being cut with a knife. The song 'Rise up' says i'll rise up like a day'.The simile in the song 'Diamonds' by Rihanna is 'Shines bright like a diamond'. This is meaning the person is very special. In the song "Last Train Home" by LostProphets it says "Watch it pass the day as it fades away." This line is a simile. It is a simile because it says it as in the day is literally fading away. What it actually means is that the time in the day is running out. I know this because in the line before it says that he has to be on the last train home. There are several artist that mimicked this song ,but I chose the main creator and my favorite.

In the song ‘Believer’ by Imagine Dragon it says “I’m the master of my seas” and it means he is in control of his problems. Later in the song he also states, “Falling like ashes to the ground” which is a synonym using ‘like’.T.L.C. in the song waterfalls, says “Don’t go chasing your waterfalls” and it is a metaphor that means do what you think is right and don’t follow what might get you hurt. In the song ‘Titanium’ David Guette is comparing himself to a very strong metal when saying “I am titanium”. metaphors and similes are mostly every song and its probably the most important part to have in a song and when you get what it means the song has meaning and every song needs meaning to the song so similes and metaphors provides the meaning for a song so we get why artist wrote this and sang this to us.
