Martin Luther King - I Have A Dream Speech - August 28, 1963
Why is Martin Luther King an important figure in America? Why is this speech important? What is the message of the speech? What are some future dreams for our country to make it a better place?
Martin Luther King Jr. was a very important figure in history. He was an African American who stood up and said that everyone should be treated equally and have the same rights. He was a priest when he was very young and then grew up to make a speech in front of tons of people. In his speech “I Have a Dream” he started how we should all have freedom and equality. Also, he said his dream was for his kids to be appreciated for who they were and not by the color of their skin. And his speech did success which brought equality and freedom to all the people. ~Angel Chen 6/7th period
martin Luther king Jr was very important because he help the world during slavery he wanted everybody have the same rights whites and blacks in the same school drinking the same water fountain be together be friends. I Have a Dream it was for his kids to be appreciated for who they were and not by color. And this speech helped alot of things of the world it made blacks and whites be friends be together.
he is very important. he have black and white people wold not be available to talk or walk or even go to the bathroom together. the black people always gets called names.thanks to them he stoped slavery . so we can all be together.
Martin Luther king was an important figure because he was one of the few freedom/ segregation leaders to truly make a large change in our history. Some even compare him to Abraham Lincoln in the march towards equality. He also was non violent and lead peaceful marches to gain freedom. Although Malcom X was an important figure also Martin was far more peaceful than Malcom X. His speech was demonstrated to show how there should be much equality in the future society and everyone should be kind to each other and be appreciated not for there skin but what they do.
I believe that Martin Luther King Jr is an important figure to the United States of America because he gave a speech that played a big role in segregation. Martin Luther King Jr.’s speech was about how he had a dream that white children and black children would be able to live together. It is important because without Martin Luther King Jr’s speech, segregation might still be a thing in the United States of America. A future dream for the United States of America that I have is for there to be less violence and for us to live in a more peaceful country. I personally am not afraid of shootings or death by unnatural causes but some people are. I feel that if violence wasn’t a problem nobody would have to be fearful, and lives wouldn’t be taken.
Martain Luther King is an important role in American history because he was one of the main people t abolish slavery. So he would protest in a nonharmful way. Like he would just go and sit in restaurants that said "no colored allowed," and he and a couple of people would just sit there. His "I have a dream speech,' was important because it made some people realize that the color of skin does not matter and we are all people. What could make our world better? Equality would make our world a lot better. I am not meaning for people who are colored I am meaning everyone. Like people who are Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, gay, bi, or even people who are trans. All people are equal and should live there life the way they want to without and with just love and support cause everyone goes through struggles and ups and downs in life but we are all still equal.
Martin Luther King is so popular and we’ll know in america cause he was a major help in abolishing slavery. Wiping out all racism and slavery in the united states. The speech tells us he had the dream and he made it come true. It just basically shows you if you put your mind and heart into something you can achieve that goal of yours. Even though their isn’t anymore slavery we still have people who are racist and I hope someday we can change that be friends with everyone in the United States. Dominick Barone 1/2.
Martin Luther King is an important rule in American History because he gave a big speech that was an important part in segregation and made history. His speech is important because it made lots of people realize that our skin color doesn’t matter and that we are all equal. The purpose is to show equality and help segregation. A dream for the country that I have is for everyone to be treated equally. Like for women and Jewish people to be treated equally. And for people to start treating the earth and people with more respect. I would wish that gun violence to be controlled. All these things would help out our country. -Allyson Sutton 1/2 period
Martin Luther King is an important figure for our country because he helped end slavery in America. His speech is important because it helped many Americans realize that the color of someones skin does not change that they are human. Martin Luther Kind Jr. was a very important man to our country. He was an African-American preacher who fought for civil rights. That means he believes all men are created equal, regardless of their skin color, race, or religion. His speech highly impacted our country today. In his speech, he talks about how all people are just people. Just because you have white skin does not mean you are better than everyone else, and just because you have brown skin does not mean you are a menace to society. If he never made that speech or fought for civil rights, white and black people could still be going to different schools, use different bathrooms, and eat at separate restaurants. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an activist for colored rights. His speech changed the future for people of color in America. He fought for everybody to have equality and harmony with each other. He wanted a bright future for future generations. Discriminating against people because of something they can't control (such as the family they were born into and the color of their skin) was- and is- not okay and shouldn't be accepted by anyone. In his famous speech he talked about the injustice of slavery and that everybody deserves freedom, because they weren't really free. They still were treated poorly and forced to do awful things because they were discriminated against.

Martin Luther King Jr. was an important figure because he helped with the elimination of segregation. This speech was important because said how he dreamt that he could have people living in a world where blacks and whites live in together and respect each other equally. My future dream for this country is for people to treat each other with respect. Anybody seen as different in today's world is typically not treated as an equal. However, they are equal and should be treated that way.

Martin Luther King Jr. was important to America history because he helped put a stop to segregation. His “I Had a Dream” speech at Lincoln Memorial impacted so many peoples life. King is a very important person because he helped influence the fact of how people must except that everybody is equal; hence, people thought it was okay to treat colored people different. The speech he gave was important because it helped people understand that everybody needs to have equal rights. The message in King's speech was that racism is NOT okay. Martin Luther King Jr. was an important figure to society even today. He was an important person because he had the "I Have a Dream" speech. This speech even shows an impact on today's society. The message that the speech gave out was that different colors of people should be treated equally. Some things that could be improved in today's society is that people are still rascist to this day and that should be forbidden. Also worldwide in some countries people are still allowed to be sexist which should be stopped.
