Pearl Harbor is located in Hawaii. The United States president during World War 2 was Roosevelt. We were suprised about the attacknon the United States because it was a sneak attack. And we didn't know what was going on. West Virginia was actually the fifth highest percentage of serviceman. And volunteers from West Virginia served in the armed forces. A total of 5,830 West Virginians died during World War 2. Areas that the War were fought in are Europe, East Asia and islands in the Pacific Ocean. But there were other places as well. Where different people saw them

Pearl Harbor happened on December 7,1941. Our leader at this time was Franklin D Roosevelt. The Japenesse tore up Hawaii and destroyed over 2,000 Americans. They wounded 1,000. Hawaii and Japan were only 4,000 miles apart,so the state was an easy target. After the attack President Roosevelt declared war on Japan. The atomic bomb came soon after. Some American organizations believe that this s was going to happen sooner or later. Japan said that Hawaii was an easy target. Many Americans could not believe this happened to our country.

Pearl Harbor was located in Hawaii. During that time our president was Franklin D. Roosevelt. We were trying to stay neutral during the World War 2 so it made us alert and mad. About 6,000 people from West Virginia had died in this war. Like I said earlier the bombing made us mad so what did we do in the long run. We bombed them back, twice. That shocked the world so much that after the bombing the war was won and we claimed victory. Brenden McFarland 6/7 period.

pearl harbor was located in Hawaii the Japanese thought it was a good idea to attack pearl harbor because it would give them control of the sea. our president at the time was president Franklin D. Roosevelt. During the war we had no idea they would attack us and came as a big surprise as we were trying to stay neutral as we were going through the great depression but this was a huge mistake as this attack could have cost them the war. I believe that the Japanese saw the great depression as a weakness but I believe it is what we needed to get out of the great depression as It freed jobs from so many people leaving to go to war and I created even more jobs because It made the production of war supplies more important so they needed more workers to do the job. about 5500 people from west Virginia alone were killed in the war most of the fighting occurred in Europe but there were numerous locations during world war 2. after the bombing the world had been shocked by this devilish sneak attack.

A little bit under 6,000 people died from WV. This attack surprised the U.S because they were not trying to hurt anyone. In the war, 11 Medal of Honors were given to West Virginians. Also the USS West Virginia was hit by a bomb and seven torpedoes. WV had the fifth highest amount of servicemen in WW2. The war was fought in Europe, East Asia, and many islands in the Pacific.

Pearl Harbor is located in Oahu, Hawaii. It is west of Honolulu. Franklin D. Roosevelt was president during WW ll but soon after his death, Harry S. Truman took his place in April 1945. We were surprised from the attack because it was a sneak attack. We were not aware that this situation was going to happen. West Virginia
was formed out of Virginia and then added to the union as a result of the civil war. All of the union troops pushed away the confederate troops which then allowed us to form our own government called the Wheeling Convention. A total of 5,830 West Virginians died in World War ll alone. The war was fought among the North American Continent which is mostly all of the United States of America , although Virginia has the most battles of all the states.

Pearl Harbor is a lagoon harbor on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, just west of Honolulu. Franklin Delano Roosevelt was president at the time the U.S. joined the fight; his presidency lasted from 1933 until 1945 (a record four terms), when he died of cerebral hemorrhage (a type of stroke). The nation was especially surprised when we were attacked by Japan because they were unprepared and caught off guard. The military leaders at Pearl Harbor had been negligent, and the naval base was very ill-equipped for this type of attack because of it. In addition, the Japanese were able to use the element of surprise to catch America off guard. Although the war was fought far away from West Virginia, it still contributed to the war effort and was affected. In fact, this state had the fifth-highest number of servicemen in the war; a whopping 218, 665 soldiers in total came from West Virginia, 66, 716 being volunteers. At total of 5,830 West Virginians were killed in the war. Eleven Medals Of Honor were given out to West Virginians for service in World War II, and there are many notable people from West Virginia who greatly contributed to the war effort, including George "Spanky" Roberts, a graduate of West Virginia State College’s Civilian Pilot Program, who became the first African-American cadet in the Army Air Corps. On the home front, in addition to rationing things like gasoline, sugar, and butter, people started growing their own food. The Mountain State also provided supplies for weaponry and power, including more than 600 million tons of coal, gun barrels, patrol boats, steel, and synthetic rubber (from the world's largest synthetic rubber plant in Kanawha Valley, which effectively replaced Japan's position as primary synthetic rubber provider). The combat in WWII took place across the globe, although most significant or notable battles were fought in Europe (specifically Poland, Russia, and Germany), East Asia (specifically China), and islands in the Pacific Ocean.

Pearl Harbor, which is where Japan attacked us to where we had to join World War Two, is in the state of Hawaii. It is on the island of Oahu. Franklin D. Roosevelt was the president of the United States during WW2. After he died, Harry S. Truman became president. The attack on the U.S. was such a surprise because it was suppose to be. After all, it was a "surprise attack". Also, we hadn't had much to do with the war yet so we weren't really expecting anything. West Virginia was involved in WW2. It had the fifth-highest percentage of serviceman during the war. 11 Medals of Honor have been given to the West Virginians for their service in the war. Mountaineers supplied over 600,000,000 tons of coal to fuel the war. Kanawha Valley produced steel for battleships, tanks, and other military equipment. 5,830 West Virginians died in WW2. Some of the areas where WW2 was fought was Europe, East Asia, the Pacific Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, Russia, the Atlantic Ocean, and Africa. War took place in many other places but these were the main places of "combat action".

Pearl Harbor was a tragic moment that happened in history. This took place in Hawaii and Franklin D Rosevelt was president during this time period. The Japanes. There were a lot of serviceman from West Virginia that were at Pearl Harbor. The Japanese would wait for Marines to get on the beach to attack them. The Marines would have to hide under the water for cover or behind dead bodies laying in the water. Almost 11 million people died on Pearl harbor. There was a lot of blood, violence and also a lot of bombing. Franklin D Rosevelt won World War2 for the americans. When we look back today F D R has his own statue of it in Washington DC. all in all this was a bad period of time.

Pearl Harbor is located on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, and saw a vicious attack on America on December 7th, 1941. At the time, president Roosevelt was in office. Americans were shocked by Japan's bold, but successful attack on Pearl Harbor, because the U.S.A. had only sent reinforcements to the Allied Powers in the form of supplies, not actual troops. Another reason the attack shocked Americans was because America was (and still is) a "superpower." This means America has one of the largest militaries in the world, and would drastically change any conflict we decide to be involved in. West Virginia was involved in the war as much of more than other states. Like the rest, we had many citizens join the military and go off to fight, but we also provided coal for electricity, which powered the factories that made the trucks, planes, and boats that were used in the war. The coal also powered the training facilities for troops. A total of 5,830 West Virginians died in the four years America fought in the Second World War. They went to the North African Theater, the Pacific Theater, and Eurpean Theater, and fought. Today, we thank those rave soldiers and many more, that ended Hitler's reign on fifty countries.

Pearl Harbor Naval Station is on the Hawaiian Island Oahu and is very near the Capitol city Honolulu. During World War II, the US President was Franklin Delano Roosevelt. At the time of the bombing, the United States was officially neutral on the war, but we were helping our allies behind the scenes. With the war not being near US soil, many Americans did not support the USA getting involved in the conflict. Our economy was still suffering from the effects of The Great Depression. Years later, with the declassification of some documents, it has been alleged that the US Military had prior knowledge of the attack, but did not do anything about it knowing that an attack on US forces on our soil would get the general public behind any war effort.

One of the ships that was damaged and sank in Pearl Harbor was the USS West Virginia. The ship was repaired and fought in many battles during the later parts of the war and when the vessel was decommissioned, the mast was removed from the ship and sits in front of Oglebay Hall near the Mountainlair in Morgantown. Every December 7th, they hold a memorial ceremony there honoring the West Virginians that died during World War II. It is estimated that between 5000 to 6000 West Virginia residents died in battle during the war. The war was fought on multiple fronts. The Pacific Front was where we engaged the Japanese and battles were fought all over the Asian Pacific Islands. The German's and Italians were fought in Europe and Northern Africa.

The president during the time was Farnklin D. Roosevelt, who, because of the war, became the first and only president to serve three terms in office. We were surprised by the attack because we had not joined the conflict, and we were not expecting such an attack to happen when we did not want to be a part of the war. Even though we had wanted to stay out of the war, every person and every state had contributed to the war effort, including West Virginia. A total of 233,985 West Virginians served in the armed forces during the war, which included 66,716 volunteers. West Virginians at home also supported the war in numerous ways. Schools gathered scrap metal and paper for recycling into the war effort. Also, The Greenbrier hotel had held diplomats from enemy countries, including Germany and Japan, until they were sent to detention centers. It is estimated that about 4,691 people died in action from West Virginia, and that 11,777 were wounded. As the name suggests, WWII was fought almost all over the world. Most of the combat action took place in Europe, Eastern Asia, and in the Pacific. Very few countries remained neutral during the war. Thankfully, the Allies had won, and ended the Axis.

This attack on the harbor was devastating because everyone was so focused on Hitler and his Holocaust that no one was expecting the Japanese to attack. West Virginia had the fifth-highest percentage of servicemen in the United States during WW2 at 218,665 people. 66,716 of these people were volunteers, 11,000 were African American, and 2,000 were women. West Virginia ended up losing 5,830 people in World War 2. Main areas the war was fought include Germany, Poland, and other countries.

Pearl Harbor is located in Hawaii, United States. The U.S. President was Franklin Roosevelt during World War II, who had three terms in office. The attack led to the United States to be in the war. The Japanese intend the attack as an action to keep the U.S. Pacific Fleet from interfering. West Virginia suppled more than 50,000 people from the war. They created the "Arsenal of Democracy". About 4,691 West Virginians were killed and about 11,777 were wounded. Many battles were fought in all Europe, Asia, the U.S., and many other places on Earth, that's why it's called a World War.

Pearl Harbor is located in Hawaii, United States. Pearl Harbor was one of the country's most important Navy fleets. Until it was bombed by the Japanese during WWII. At the time President Roosevelt was at service. Along with the rest of the States, the bombing took Roosevelt by surprise since we were staying neutral in the war. Unlike most countries the Allied Powers were the only countries to stand up to the Axis Powers. We actually even ended up dropping a Nuke on Hiroshima, Japan during the war killing many. My state of West Virginia supplied a lot of resources during WWII. For example, West Virginia supplied and lost a total of 5,830 soldiers in WWII. In fact, our proud state college, WVU has a bell that was used on a naval ship that West Virginia supplied in WWII.

Pearl Harbor is located in the United States territory known as Hawaii, before it was inducted as a state for the United States. During World War II, Franklin D. Roosevelt was president. American citizens all unanimously agreed that Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor was very surprising because, up to that point, Americans wrongly interpreted they were on good terms with the Japanese. This, however, may not be entirely true. There is a conspiracy theory that FDR and the rest of the government actually did know about the attacks in advance but did nothing about it and let thousands of people die. If this it true, what they did is pretty genius. You see, America at that time did not want to act in the war at all, but the allies obviously needed the United State's help. The attack gave Americans a motive for fighting in the war. West Virginia, like any other state, was involved in the war. 5,830 West Virginian were slaughtered in the war. Key continents that the war was fought in was Europe and Asia.

From what the Americans thought, Japan was an ally at the time. FDR was our president at this time. West Virginia lost around 6000 of their own troops. It is one of the most tragic days in history.

Pearl Harbor is located in Hawaii. Our president during that time, was Franklin D. Roosevelt. The reason that we were so surprised by the sudden attach at pearl harbor is because we had, so far, nothing to do with World War 2. West Virginia had helped in the war by sending about 200,000 soldiers to fight each other. In the after math of world war 2, about 6,000 West Virginians were killed. Throughout World War 2, it was mainly fought in the Pacific ocean and Europe.

Pearl Harbor is located in the United States of America, but if we're to be specific it is located in Hawaii. During the day of December 7, 1941 we were bombed by the military of the Japanese. We had been bombed by another country that we did not claim as enemy but maybe a friend of the United States. Their attack on Pearl Harbour is what caused the United States to enter World War 2. During the time of the war West Virginia had send a few hundred thousand of men to fight against the corruption brought about in Germany and other countries. We had lost many brave soldiers but In the process we had stopped the masacur of people that was being brought apron us in the world.

Pearl Harbor i located in Hawaii. Franklin Roosevelt was the president during WW||. The attack was surprising because it was a surprise attack or some people like to say a sneak attack. West Virginia was involved because we had a lot of troops about 200,000. The main areas that the war was fought were Europe, East Asia and more islands in the Pacific ocean. While these areas were the most damaged, there were other areas as well. This war actually happened December 7,1941.
