Never Give Up

Think of a time when your were challenged to do something that required you to overcome some obstacles.

There are many time I've had to overcome obstacles to get my way or get to the correct solution. One time, I was playing in a softball, for my summer league, and I completely forgot how to field grounders. I was very upset and doubted myself for the rest of the game. Because of this, I was moved down on the batting order. I was only moved down one spot but I went from 4th to 5th and it was very tragic. So from the game on I practiced almost everyday and got it together. All in all, it was very tough but I got it together and regained my spot at 3rd and 4th in the order.

There are many obstacles in life. And some you might not be able to overcome. But most of them you can overcome. There have been a lot of challenges in my life. And I'm sure everybody else has too. One of my challenges is presenting in front of the class. I overreact and stress about presenting a lot. And I always have to go first when I present because I have to get it over with. And after I get it over with I feel better. So that is one challenge that I have overcome.

The message that I got from this video was that there is many obstacles in life. Some of them are unbeatable but no matter the outcome. You gave it you're best. Never give in even when the odds are not in your favor. You must be strong and stand up to the cause.

In life, you are always going to have to over come obstacles in order to achieve your goals. I have overcome many obstacles in my years on the earth. one of them is trying to get good grades in school. in order to have a good life, you have to get good grades, then get a good degree, then find a good job, then you have succeeded. you have to work hard to do well in life.

A time in my life that I will absolutely never forget struggling to overcome is not quite an accomplishment, per se. I remember on December 15th, 2014, my grandmother passed away. This was the first major death that impacted me greatly, since, aside from my mom, she was probably the person in my family I was closest to. To make matters worse, she passed away the evening of my first band concert. My parents had found out just before the concert but didn't tell me until after so that I wouldn't want to miss the concert or go onstage ready to cry. I remember I missed a whole week of school after that. I was an absolute mess; I didn't want to get out of bed or do anything, really. I was so overcome with grief that I broke down crying at the wake and didn't stop until an hour after we'd gotten home. I remember feeling completely numb after the funeral, as if I couldn't cry any more. I was grief-stricken for a few more days before something inside me changed. I don't know why, but suddenly I didn't want to mope any more. I knew that my grandmother wouldn't want me grieving, she'd want the best for me. She'd want me to be happy and keep those good memories of her to reflect on when I needed them. She'd want me to get out of bed and go to school, to try my hardest and do my best to make a future for myself. I knew that she'd want me to be strong and to persevere through the tough times in my life, including her passing. The memory of my grandmother and her words that instilled strength and courage in me are what keep me from giving up during hard times today, even when it feels as if I can't accomplish something or I'm not good enough.

There will always be obstacles in life. A time in life when i had to overcome an obstacle was during the spring a couple of years ago. I was training for the state swim meet that was in about a month or so when I got Mersa in my knee. I had to take about a week off of swimming. That was an obstacle because when I got back to swimming I had to work harder to make sure that I would be ready for the meet. Everybody will eventually have to go through obstacles. You just have to make sure that you keep going and that you never give up.

there has always been obstacles in my life that i have over come and some of them got the best of me. the one i am choosing to talk about today is one i am still dealing with today is school. i have always had this problem and it is not being serious with school. some times its friends or video games that hold me back always wanting to goof of with friends or wanting not to deal with homework because im to addicted to video games and i believe the first step to getting over obstacles is acknowledging there there and that you need to get past/rid of them. i started with video games making them a second priority to school and then i dealt with friends didn't push them away or stop hanging out with them but i ended goofing of in class early in the fifth grade. my biggest deal right now is video games as i feel everyday i play them i get moor and moor addicted to them. well right now im working to jump over that obstacle and work harder in school.

There have been many obstacles that had gotten in my way. One of which many was when my great grandmother had passed away. The reason why this had been one of the worst obstacles, was number one, it was incredibly sad and heartbreaking, and number two, she had passed away on my 10th birthday. I was full of grief and was terribly upset and broken. I felt as if nothing worse could ever happen to me. I was extremely close to her before she had passed away, and she was always there for me when no one else was. She passed away at the age of 83, and I had just turned 10. When I went back to school, people would always ask me if I was okay, what was wrong, or just didn't care. I didn't want to talk about it, but with some of my friends I did. And I realized how much easier it is to talk to someone that will actually listen to me, and would care. Just the way she did. Some people still don't know why I was so upset, but it could be for the best, because some wouldn't believe me, some would make fun of me, for God only knows why. Some people are just cruel and so selfish that they don't care about anything that happens to other people. Only their selves. But I had to look past them and look through the darkness of everything terrible that had happened. I overcame being upset and unhappy, because I had people there for me that cared, and I knew that my great grandmother wouldn't have wanted me to be so unhappy. And that's all you really need to do- To look past all the cruelty and hatred, and find a way to make your light shine.

I overcame a huge obstacle when I moved here to West Virginia. I grew up in Pennsylvania were I spent my Pre-k to fifth grade school years. I made a few good friends when I was there and was very close to those friends. At the beginning of my fifth grade year my dad got a job at the Ruby Hospital in Morgantown but my parents didn't want to move until the end of the year. My dad would have to drive two hours to get to work and sometimes he would have to sleep in his car in the parking lot. When I hear we were moving I was really sad, I didn't want to leave my friends. On the first day of school in the sixth grade I was scared because I only had only met two kids that went to this school. I didn't have any classes with them though. By the end of the year I got more and more friends and was no longer terrified to speak. Now in the three years I've been here I have more friends and are closer to them than the ones I had seven years at my old school.

There have always been obsticles in my way. But usually I just hurdle over them. Before I cut my hair I used to get bullied about looking like a girl. I never thought about suacide or cutting my hair but I wanted it to stop. So one day my friend took me to Mr.Edgidi's office. Him and Mrs.Boyles helped me. Then brought the people in and told them to quit bullying me. But sometimes you need a helping hand like his father. But nothing will ever get in my path.

There have always been a lot of obstacles in my life. Usually they deal with injuries. It all started when I was 2, my family and I were in Cincinnati, Ohio. We were in the hotel lobby I ran away from where my family was standing and ran toward the escalators. My brother and dad ran after me and grabbed me. Then, they took me back to where we were standing and I ran again towards the escalators. This time when they ran after me and I had already reached the escalator. When they tried to grab me i leaned forward and fell. The escalator was going down ,but i tried going up it and it cut the tip of my finger off. I had to go in the ambulance ad they stitched t back on. I overcame that obstacles ,but that was just the start of the obstacles. After that I broke my arm, I fell of the chair and broke my finger, got stitches in my chin, my brother slammed my finger in the door, fractured my growth plate in my hand, fractured my growth plate in my heal, had physical therapy for 6 weeks, had to go to the chiropractor for my neck, had shin splints, sprained my ankle a few times, strained my ankle a few times, sat on a toothpick, and etc. With all that happening in my life and I know for sure more to come I overcame all the obstacles.

Overcoming obstacles is very hard because the obstacle can be a mental block, a fear, an injury, or something else. I had to overcome my fear of high jumping in track, after I hurt my knee. What happened was that I hurt my knee and it really hurt to high jump and run. After it healed, I was still scared to high jump. This caused me to have a mental block. It was hard to overcome this because I wanted to high jump but it was scary. I overcame it by practicing more often and trying to erase the fear. It took a while, but by the end of the season my self doubt went away.

There are many obstacles in life. Whether it is a mental problem or a physical problem. It could even be as little as a fear. Some of these you may not be able to overcome. I have gotten stuck on many obstacles in my life. I'm sure many others have too. One of my greatest fears is talking in front of big groups of people. Every time we have to present something in class, I get very stressed and freaked out. But after it's over I am very realived. I am starting to get used to presenting now. Even though there are many other obstacles in my life, one is fading away slowly.

This has reminded me of a time when I was playing 5th and 6th grade basketball. My first year, we came in 6th which is decent, but not what we were hoping for in the beginning. The year after, we worked hard at practice, and made it to the championship game. We lost the game, but we played our best and that's all that matters. We didn't give up and our coach was proud. I strongly encourage people to never give up no matter how bad they are hurt, just like the runner that tore his hamstring. He hurt himself very bad, and he still finished because he was dedicated to that moment and he never gave up.

There are many obstacles in life that can hinder me. A couple are when i first started school at West Fairmont middle school. When I first started, i was very nervous, as I was the only blind student there, and i went to a blind school before going there, so it was a major transision in my life. I thought people would make fun of me, which happens accasionally, but most of the people are respectful. I have a couple friends, but that's better than nothing. Another obstacle is when my grandfather past away when i was 10. It affected me to the point I'd break down crying for the first few weeks after his death, but I then realized. he doesn't want me to live like this, so I continue to never give up.

Today I have over came those fears and moved on. -Elaina whiteman 1st and 2and period

Everyone has obstacles in there life. Most obstacles in life are because of fear. One thing that I consider an obstacle in my life is presenting something in class. Sometimes I am very good at presenting something in class but other times I'm not. When I present I start to get really hot and I start to stutter or forget what I was going to say. I always stress about it the night before. But it is one thing everyone has to do in life so I get over it. Everyone has different obstacles they have to overcome.

Overcoming obstacles is part of life. I have had to overcome many obstacles in the life. One obstacle I had to overcome was my football championship versus Bridgeport. Bridgeport was the best team in our league. My team was right under them. The game was hard fought. It took all of my strength to win. My team was able to beat Bridgeport. It was probably the hardest obstacle I had to face in my entire life.

Once I played Bridgeport and this kid was at least six foot. But then as the game went on I was starting to give it my all hitting him with everything I had. And every year we would loose to Bridgeport until last year when we beat them in the championship game. But it wasn't an ordinary game it was the championship and we beat them . So that is what I have to say about ,y blog.

One obstacle I've had to overcome is when I to do projects. I try to tell myself that it is fine and I will get a good grade but I still get nervous. I procrastinate for days until the night before which isn't good. It gives me anxiety trying to throw it together the night before and getting sleep. It's important to me to get sleep the night before to be ready to present so I'll start the projects at like 7 the night before. This year I've had to start doing projects like a week before it's due. The teachers have given us many projects which has helped me to stop procrastinating.

You are gonna have at least one obstacle in your life and you just have to find a way to get around it. Like in the video this man had torn something in his leg and he wanted to finish the race because he doesn't want to give up. And the only way that your not gonna get past and obstacle is when you give up. So this video teaches us not to give up and when you don't give up you can achieve anything you want to. You just have to believe that you can do it then good things will happen, like in the video he kept telling himself in his head that he will not give up. So many good things can come with you not giving up. A lesson we learned was to not give up and don't let obstacles stop you!

But then I go over it in my head and remember everything. I know that there are more obstacles to come and I will do my best to overcome them.

There has been a lot of obstacles in my life but competing on the football team is the greatest. Being obviously the smallest I have to work a lot harder than others may think. It kind of gets on my nerves when people judge but I understand. I'am very committed to this sport and never missed a practice. With hard work and 8 or 9 years of experience I was able to start on defense this year and last year when we won the championship.

There were many times in my life when I've had to overcome obstacles. For example, when I was younger, learning wrestling moves was always a challenge. I could either never remember the steps or I would always screw up and end up losing a match. To resolve this issue, every night I'd practice moves in front of a mirror until I got the hang of it. Today I can complete most moves with ease and the ones I haven't mastered yet are still being practiced by me in front of a mirror.

I love horse back riding but it can be scary. I first started out with a trainer who let me do what I wanted and didn't care what speed I went. Then I tried a new place. This trainer was pushing me more and I learned quickly. He wanted me to trot on the second time! I started and then the third time I went to the trainers, he wanted me to go really fast. I was very nervous and I could've fallen off at anytime. They made me wear a helmet. It turns out it was much smoother than trotting! I now canter every day and Mabey I will gallop like the people in the Kentucky Derby.

I was worried that I might not make it on the team because I was inexperienced. I didn't let my lack of experience stop me, though. With the help of some great friends, I was able to make it on the team because I never gave up. I learned that you only lose if you give up. I have had to overcome obstacles many times to conquer something in my life. The main thing I remember every time this subject is brought up was my first audition for a dance summer intensive. Whenever I got to the audition, I was very nervous the I realized I was the youngest there which made me more nervous. At the start of the audiotion we got taught a combination and they picked 10 out of 25 to stay and I was very scared I wouldn't be called back in, but I was called back and I was so excited. The next and last thing of the audition was singing, after I got done singing I was not confident at all, but when one of the judges called my name to stay I thought I was going to cry of tears. There was 5 of us left, and the judges told us that we're finalists and they will mail us a letter saying wether or not we got accepted in about 2 weeks. After the audition, I went home and was so nervous the past two weeks and very emotional. One day when I was in 3rd period Social Studies I got called to the office, and once I got called to the office I saw my mom who had flowers and a card I opened it and it said I was accepted I started crying tears of joy. All in all, I was not confident in my self at all, but my lack of confidence did not get fully in my way.

Over the years I have been able to become more confident in some of the things I do. I play soccer and the piano and now I have accomplished not being extremely anxious. When I do get nervous I try to remove all negative thought and place only one thought in my head, which is " you can do it, you can do it" repeating itself in my mind. In time everyone can overcome there obstacles and fears and eventually I will get over this obstacle and move on with my life.

I had to realize that everything would be alright and I had to move on and do what he would want me to do. Whenever he would walk in a room he would become the life of the party. My dad always brought a smile to people's faces even if they were having a bad day. He was my role model. I wanted to become just like him. I miss him more and more each day. Everything I do now is for him. He knows I love him as much as he loves me.

When you never give up you try you best no matter what. In the video the runner was seriously hurt and was told not to finish but he was determined to finish the race so he did. One day during a football game this year our team was losing 14-0 with 5 minutes left in the game. We drove down the feild and scored our first points. The score was then 14-8 and we had to kick off. We did an onside kick and got the ball back. Now the team was tired and we were considering giving up but we didn't. When drive the ball all the way back down the feild and ended up scoring again. We were wining 14-16 now and there was only 45 seconds leave and we held them to not scoring. Because we didn't give up we ended up winning and brought a win back to West Fairmont.

In life, you face many obstacles. In my life, one obstacle I have faced was during a soccer game. At halftime, the game was still tied 0-0. In the beginning of the second half, we were able to score, putting us in the lead by one goal. However, later in the half, the other team was able to score, tying the game. Both teams were trying to score again, but neither team could. Time was running out, and neither team had been able to score again, meaning that the game was still tied. There was only about five minutes left in the game, and we had the ball. It was passed to me, and I was able to get the ball to the corner and cross it. Off of my cross, we were able to score! We were winning 2-1. After that, the game ended, and we won.

The most difficult obstacle I faced in my life is when my parents got divorced. I didn't know what it meant at the time. So I didn't take it very serious. Then I had to got to my dad's house every other week in east side, while on the other weeks, I'm at my mom's. It's been a couple years that it happened. When we still lived in east side, things got harder. I forgot to do a lot of things because I wasn't reminded until I talked with my mom at night. Then after a year, my dad and his fiance moved to Taylor county. That made everything a lot harder. We didn't get home until 4:30 to 5:00. The latest we got home, was 7:00. We usually didn't get time to do homework and take our shower because we got home so late. Then, if we go out to eat, we couldn't do anything, but stay up to take a shower and do homework. It is a lot harder when I have soccer. Since it's a 30 minute drive to Fairmont, to practice.

Obstacles are a constant occurrence in anyone's day to day life. Some people give up after the slightest bump in the road. What people should learn to do (and I'm trying to learn myself) is to try harder. The greatest pleasure in life is to prove others wrong when they think you can't do something or your not good enough. A huge obstacle in my life is procrastination/laziness. I always have waited last minute to do things that are very important. Meaning those things are mostly done with half the effort. Lately I haven't been doing that. It feels really good to have something done a week before its due and not have to stress about it the night before. An alternative to procrastinating is my phone. I'm practically glued to it.

Probably one of the most consequential conflicts I've had to overcome was when I forgot that their was a book report due the day before it was due in Ms. Constable's class. This was the one with you have to find a life lesson in the story. After having no further written reminder, I suddenly recollected I had one due, at 9 pm. I panicked. After looking through a selection of books, I remembered that "Unwind" was a good choice because of its message about abortion, not taking either side on the situation. I read the too far too long ago to recall the characters and such, so I bought the audiobook via the internet. This was a conflict, however, because, by the time I would have read the book, it would be time for school. To fix this, I sped up the audiobook to fix my timeframe. After that, I wrote my essay with a little bit of a hurry because it was only 4 am. The lesson of this story is, if you are going to procrastinate, you will have to use tricks like these to still good grades in classes.

In baseball there are many obsticles to face. One can be the weather.. Rain makes it harder to play in. Another is an injury. I remember when I hurt my leg sliding and i couldnt pitch because of that. But that didnt mean i had to give up.. I then went to play outfield because the fact that i couldnt move well. I was hoping no balls would be hit that way. Then all of a sudden the ball was luckily hit right to me and i didnt have to move one step. This is just an example of how to never give up. You can still contribute to the situation even if there are obsticles.

In life, we will have many obstacles thrown our way. One obstacle I have faced was when I was younger and began attending my first summer camp where I stayed away from home for the whole week. At first I was nervous and was feeling slightly homesick. I had a couple of friends there already and began to meet more as the week went on. At the end of the week I didn't want to go home. I had such a good time and am still making great memories during one of the best weeks of my summer.

People have many obstacles in life that are challenged by and have to overcome. One of the obstacles in my life which was very tragic was 2 years ago in sixth grade to be exact November 3rd,2014 I had gotten Bronchitis, the next the 4th of November it was Election Day and my mom was working at the polls and my dad had left to run an errand and he told me to make my bed and I was having some chest pain which kept it grew so much that it hurt to pick up a blanket. When my parents got home my dad said chest pain was just part of the sickness but my mom decide to take a look at my chest because I cried when I picked the blanket it up and my chest was swollen like a balloon on both sides and so my mom called my Uncle Larry since he is a docter she asked him what to do and he said to take me to the E.R. right away so my dad took me and after they had took my vitals and I went straight to a E.R. room. By this time I was terrified and I had a oxygen mask and I had just found out that my oxygen levels were low they supposed to be in the high 90s but they were in the low 70s. They had told me I was going to be moved to a Hospital room at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Now I was extra terrified and later on they had told me I had coughed a hole in my Esophagus I was thinking what the heck is a Esophagus anyways they my case was rare people who a hole in there Esophagus usually have damage to there chest I had a strong cough and coughed a hole. I ended up being in the Hospital for a week and I was so excited to get out of there that I wanted to go to school that Friday but my docter said no so I was out of school for another week than I had stomach problems for a while and was out of school even more my first week of school back was late December I was not happy but when I was back I had to eat in the office to stay away from any extra sicknesses. I had to regain strength in my lungs and it was hard to work out and now I have gotten Asthma from it and I had later had a surgery that had nothing to do with it but they looked in my lungs while I was unconscious and found I had a partly collapsed lung. This all hit me like a train I just a simple bronchitis and because of that this all happened. I am still strengthening my lungs to this day and I still have trouble to breathe sometimes and it still hard to work out sometimes but the docter lately has taken me off of some of my medications and has said that my lungs are tremendously better and now I am almost completely overcome it. This was one of and hardest so far of my challenging obstacles.

When I was almost 6 my daddy died. The obstacle I had was not having him around all the time. My mom did a lot for me and tried to help me with things but it wasn't the same. She isn't very good at passing a baseball or playing basketball. So when I played on the Salem teams, I just had to do my best and learn from what little time the team spent on the practice fields. Another obstacle was when my mom, step-dad and I moved to Fairmont. We left the home I had lived in since my daddy died and my sister stayed behind to live with my nanny and finish high school in Doddridge Co. I started a new school in the last two nine weeks of the school. I had to make new friends and try to fit in.

Everyone has obstacles in life that they have to overcome. For example, I have lots of anxieties about public speech, but I still have to do many presentations and things in school. I have to build up the courage to actually stand up in front of people and speak, which is more than slightly terrifying to me, and I usually end up making a fool out of myself, but I still have to face the fear and overcome the obstacle.

In life everyone faces obstacles some bigger than others. I have faced many in my life, but I'll just tell you about one. When I was in the 5th grade I was playing in a basketball tournament in Ohio and I hurt my ankle. I jumped to get the ball and when I came down I landed on another players foot and my ankle twisted badly. Once we got home my foot was very swollen and I couldn't walk. I could not play basketball for a month after that because it was sprained pretty bad. Once I got back to playng I was little rusty, but I overcame my injury.
